6064 Tasting Notes
another one from terri, though indirectly from Charlotte zero. THIS is fantastic. Golden Needle tend to be hit or miss with me and this is a hit! I am a fan of this..i ended up drinking the cup up and hitting the bottom of it without even realising it. Thanks so much for sharing this with me terri. i think it might need to go on the list for a future order :)
terri sent this one my way the other day so i thought i’d try this out especially given all the rave reviews. I’m not sure if i did something wrong with brewing this but this really isn’t a tea i enjoy. I know i struggle with darjeelings on good days but yea. sooo not rating this because i think people who enjoy darjeelings would like this, but it’s not for me. something in the taste is just a little weird.
made a cup of this tonight on the stove just for fun. It was nice to try but there are others i prefer. I find that i don’t like it when the clove has a presence in the chai. That being said, the ginger aspect of this is quite tasty. It’s one of those middle of the road chais that i think might be relatively good in the long run. Except it’s spring….soooo in a few months lol
Final Count: 190
HA! if this keeps up, i might actually get through my required sipdowns for today and tomorrow. I’m hoping i can manage that, if only to give me a bit of a jump start to the week. Not much to say about this that i haven’t already said. It’s the closest thing to a watermelon tea that i’ve had…sweet and juicy and i like it hot and cold!
Another one from terri. Sadly, now that i’ve had the pumpkin ginger tea that she shared with me, all others fail in comparison. This is a nice ennough tea…a little heavy on the clove but still good. I’d put this as more of a pumpkin spice tea than i get anything out of it that is pie like. That being said, it just can’t compare to the other one…that i’ve hidden away with my anxi shou. it must hide! for a no good very bad day when i need a smile.
took this one out for a spin this afternoon in my timolino. :) What i AM discovering is that the timolino is the perfect size for short trips out – just enough tea to keep me content without feeling like i’ve packed too much tea. Enjoying this one, though i still wish there was MORE flavour…it’s just a little muted for what i want it to be :)
cold brew of this one with a bit of lunch today. I accidentally steeped this for a bit too long (re: 2 days?) so the fennel is a little much. I cut it with a little gingeral though so that it making for a delicious cup. I still think my favourite of this is steeped in part apple juice/water just overnight :)
terri sent this one my way (she received it from charlotte zero) and i’m glad she did. I haven’t had this lot before. :) This of course reinforces my opinion that 25g samples of all the different lots can for sure be sustainable from TTC once i finish up my current larger sizes. It’s actually a better route to go for me, unless i’m sharing a larger size with someone. Not because i don’t love the teas, but because i want to be able to try all the lots in case one really blows my mind. There’s no fear of picking up something i won’t like either because thus far all the TTC teas that i’ve tried that are in the black range have been enjoyable for me :) thanks for sharing terri!
