7609 Tasting Notes
my darling swedish chef sent this one my way to try and i’m super glad she did. I have to say, i’m not one of those people who tends to drink cacao on it’s own. I much prefer it as an addition to teas to give them that roasty chocolatey taste. I’m drinking these samples on their own though as i want to get a better sense of how they’ll work with other teas. This one is hints of mint with a lot of cacao. I enjoy it, but i’m not sure i see the point of the mint lol. I’d likely just add cacao to a mint tea so that the mint was more present and i could control the mint level. Enjoyable, though..and a nice cup to end the evening. Time for bed with my headache not getting much better.

another tea from this afternoon. While i’m not making much direct progress with sipdowns, i am getting a bunch of teas within sipdown range, so i’m happy with that since next weekend is going to be a whole lot of not very much tea. Still enjoying this one as both a hot tea and a “hey i forgot about this tea and now it’s totally cold” just enough creamy lime to make me happy heh
I figured that i might as well splurge on having this one today since i had time for a couple resteeps and because it’s close to being finished. I really do want to keep on getting my cupboard in order – i’m thinking maybe a goal of 50 for the end of next year heh I enjoy this one, though with the discussion taking place about quality vs price this one comes to mind. I have a hard time justifying prices like this one tea, EVEN if it’s a tea that i can resteep and rather enjoy. Mainly because 9 times out of 10, unless i’m doing a puerh session, i don’t want resteeps. I want a different cup of tea. and secondly, there are other teas that are “nearly as delicious” that are half the price. So the majority of the time, i’m ok with those other teas. What i do like, is being able to splurge occasionally on more expensive, quality teas as a treat. So that i take the time to slow down and really enjoy them when i have them. This is one of those teas that falls in to that category. I really like it, but it’ll never be a permanent tea in my cupboard. Rather, i’ll rotate it in when i want a treat :)
Nearly done this one..and then i guess it’ll be a permanent sipdown given the demise of Rivertea. That’s unfortunate, since they had great customer service and most of their teas seemed to be fairly popular. I vastly preferred their fruit teas/tisanes but this was one of their straight teas that i really have enjoyed.
super weird. no tasting notes for this one though i’ve had it multiple times… frown I’m a little tired of things poofing around here. I just wish i had a way to export my data so that i could keep track of things outside of steepster. This tea isn’t my favourite. I just can’t seem to brew it correctly or in a way that takes the edge off of the one taste i’m not a fan of…not that ou’d know it by the lack of tasting notes.
Another cookie latte for the win…and you know what? i might just have another tomorrow to finish off the package. so there. :) I MUCH prefer drinking this tea this way now that i’ve found it….must remember that for future purchases since i would buy this one again.
