6342 Tasting Notes
dinosara was kind enough to send me a sample of this one in our swap. It was a tea that i’d looked at picking up in my lupicia order, but for whatever reason didn’t’ (maybe it was sold out) this is a reasonable assam. It’s malty with a little bit of a kick. It’s not as bold as i sometimes like me tea, but had i ordered this, would have had no issue with finishing it off :)
i drinked this tonight. Anna made me silly and now i’m not sleepy. and then i was a puppy and an otter and ZOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! apparently we’re all a bunch of crazies
but anyway…the tea? it smells a lot like lime gelato from David’s tea…which happens to be 1 of 3?4?5? teas i’ve ever really enjoyed enough to buy from David’s. I know..that’s crazy talk around here but i am not a fan of a lot of their blends for the price, sugar added etc….
ANYWAY…. this is very similar but not as sweet, a hint of ginger in the background (not enough though!!!!) and still tasty-licious! thanks missb!
Final Count: 150 booyah! (20 to go….)
last cup of this tonight because i need some calming teas AND because i promised myself i’d get to 150 before i was allowed to open my damn fine teas that arrived today…and i want to drink at least one tomorrow. soooo here i am lol rock ME like a hurricane!
yes..that’s right. i went there.
soooooo i keep drinking this and forgetting to log it. Mostly because it’s “ok” but nothing out of this world. I think i’ve given up on finding the perfect black base chocolate mint since i have stacy’s herbal – peppermint patty. it seems to be all i need in a mint chocolate tea. That being said, this one from Harney is one of the better crafted minto chocolate blacks, so i’d be likely to land on this one if i had to pick one from the bunches i’ve tried. the chocolate and peppermint balance out well, the base is present but not astringent and it’s nicely done on the whole.
dexter sent this to me and now i’m all like HAHAHAHA! i will review this before you MWAHAHAHAHA…. ok maybe not really but FB chat is making me giggly and loopy right now…and only THREE MORE DAYS UNTIL VACATION!
also….i totally forgot what i was going to say about this tea.. the interwebs distracted me.. um………..
1) it smells amazing..mangolicious
2) it’s super tasty and this would probably be awesome as a cold brew…
3) it’s not KERPOW in your face mango but yum it is. i said so.
soooooooooooo close to a sipdown on this one…to the point where i was contemplating making a really stong travel mug today…but i refrained. haha. I need to try to get a few in tonight because my damn fine teas arrived, but this was not meant to be one of them…but there will be a few incoming now that i’m home and relaxing… wheee!
Another tea from this morning AND one of the teas that i’ve been trying to work through lately because i have a number of teas from both TTC and Norbu that i haven’t opened or started yet! i like the fresh and fruitiness of this one even if it’s not my FAAAVOURITE from TTC. it’s still damn good and i’m happy to have it in my cupboard to drink!
this was another one sent my way by missB Funnily enough the chocolate smell/taste in this one is intense. I have to agree with her, that when something has spicy in the name, you expect it to be spicy…not sweet. This is chocolate rooibos with a hint of something else going on there. it’s still tasty, but it doesn’t have the kick i was expecting it to have. I’ll have to play with the steeping a little to see if there’s anything i can do to make it a littler punchier.
in other news? salted caramel criollo is amaaaaaazing….
Final Count: 149 (19 + 4 to go)
