4026 Tasting Notes
sipdown! (fair warning, i’m aiming for at least 290 by the end of the weekend, and this puts me at 301)
this is NOT the tea for me. I don’t mind the peach taste so much but behind the vanilla taste there’s a floral taste that makes me want to cry. It smells delicious! and i really like how the vanilla is in with the peach, but that floral thing going on makes this a NO tea. this might be a really nice tea for someone who enjoys more floral green teas… rating reflects my dislike for floral things…ick.
sipdown! heh thanks to fiddling for this one. I wanted to try this one in the event that i loved it and needed to pick up a tin of it since it is available locally at chapters. I love the choco-nut ambessa, but as this one is green, i wasn’t to sure how i’d feel about it. Also, i’ve never had a lingonberry before so yay for new things!
As it turns out, this is a little too “green” for me. It might be interesting as a cold brew but hot, it’s very much a green grassy tea with a hint of a fruity taste that i can’t place, which i assume is the lingonberry. Not a bad tea but nothing i’d kill to have in my cupboard. Thanks again fiddling! appreciate the share!
SIPDOWN! Thank you lala I really like this one! It’s really not bad for a bagged tea. I wish there was a little more lime to it but it’s otherwise mostly a mint tea imo. I think if i picked up more of this anytime, i’d try this as a cold brew just to see if the lime came out a little more. overall not too shabby.
Sipdown! Thanks to tattooed_tea I’ve had this before as a sample from stacy but i was happy to revisit this again since it’s been a long time and i’ve had a chance to better understand my tastes. I’ve never have tamarind before but this is a really interesting tea. it’s woodsy and spicy and really flavourful.
SIPDOWN! (305) another one from kittylovestea that i was excited to try! Bagged tea be damned, this is a REALLY nice strawberry tea. I think this would make a darn good latte as well! I may have to do some digging to see if i can find a box of this is any of my stores around here just to have these to tuck away at work since bagged seems to be the way to go. I for sure lost track of steeping this one and it didn’t become bitter/astringent.
Thank you kitty!
love. this. tea. Thank you kittylovestea for this one! I have to do a side by side with the caramel toffee tea from damman that shmiracles sent me but i think this one comes out on top. Really loved the creamy caramely/toffee taste this morning a whoooollle bunch! mmmmm so glad i have a little more of it than your average small swap ;)
back log from this morning. Trying to have some of my favourites these days to mix in with my new teas and sipdowns. Work got away from me today so i haven’t had a chance to log anything. I still love this assam and i’m super glad i was able to pick it up with free shipping to canada. I love the tiger tin :) and the tea’s pretty damn good too!
Thanks joonsusanna! another tea that she was looking to get rid of that i scooped up. Truth be told, apparently my taste buds are off because i’m not getting the orange that everyone else has. Now, i’ve had 52 teas cinnamon roll honeybush blend thingy that i LOOOOVEEEED the first time i had it and then stopped loving it a little while after that. If i was looking for a cinnamon bun tea, i’d be going for the steap shoppe’s cinnamon swirl bread. however, in a honeybush, this tastes closer to a cinnamon bun than 52 teas, which has a whole lot of cinnamon with some more cinnamon. this one is a smoother, less cinnamon and more bun version.
Let’s not talk about how i’m back over 300 teas lol. Thank you joonsusanna for this one! I’ve wanted to try compass teas for a while now, and when she was getting rid of a bunch of her teas, cavocorax and i were blessed with her willingness to send us a bunch of them for the two of us to share! I’m so used to steeping my rooibos for 7+ mins. Compass recommends 3-4 minutes for this one, but i think i’ll try much longer with the rest of my sample. At 3.5 mins this is a creamy sort of rooibos but i wouldn’t call it irish cream just yet. I hope that with a longer steep, more of the flavour will come out a bit :) For those that don’t like rooibos too much, so far this does have that rooibos taste, so likely not a first choice for anyone curious if this is a rooibos-y rooibos lol it is.
thank you courtney for this sample. Even though i don’t much love coconut, i wanted to try this one just in case. While this smells really nice…as a tea it’s pretty gross. There’s a slimy oily film on the top of this tea that makes me cringe. totally glad i got to try this but uh…yeah this small sample was a good amount! :)
