4043 Tasting Notes
this tea confuses me. It’s smokey but is also full of berry? There’s something in the blend as well that is making me sneeze but i couldn’t tell you what. Overall this is a pretty tasty blend though i think i prefer my smoke without the berry flavour. I do like the texture of this smoke however. I also don’t really grasp the vanilla that is hiding in here somewhere. However, this was an excellent large sil mug full of fun! Thanks terri!
oh god. i don’t know what’s worse…the oolong or the coconut. DEAR GOD NO! :) sooo sample from terri, and even though i was pretty sure that was going to be my reaction, i figured what the heck, i’ll give it a try. Especially after quite enjoying the coconut mango tea from last night.
the rest of this is going to kittenna whether she wants it or not…because i said so. Only enough for a cup but it needs a good home.
So sorry terri…lol at least i tried! not rating this since it really is because of my preferences and NOT because this is a terrible cup of tea.
SIPDOWN! and thanks to terri for this one, as is usually lately heh. Had this earlier in the afternoon as well. The aroma of this one was much like loashan black. It sort of tripped me out a little. The tea did not have the same depth that loashan black does, but this was almost like it’s milder more golden second cousin. heh. I quite enjoyed this one even if there is a bit of a floral note at the end of the sip. No oonlongy taste here for me though so that makes me a happy camper!
I tried the last of this as a cold brew and to be honest? I think i like this better as a cold brew. The hibiscus didn’t turn the cold brew into a sour cup of red. Instead this was just a mild red brew that tasted quite nice. The cold brew sort of evened out the berry flavour and it almost reminded me of cherry jello but with the flavour backed off. lol
Finally having another smoothie. I’m not sure why i stepped away from my morning matcha smoothies but i did. I pulled out the blender this morning to have one and man is it delicious. I’m still trying to finish off some of the less likeable flavours that i have before i open a bunch of the other flavours i have sitting in my cupboard, calling out to me. I’m hoping that I’ll clean it all up in May and get cracking on the new flavours…especially since i just ordered 10+5 from redleaf to use up my gift certificates from the referral program and the reviewing program. lol it seems like a lot but it was largely free and i’ll be sharing with people to let them try red leaf before purchasing. :)
Anyway this matcha? it’s alright but it’s not great. Maybe it’s the distinctive flavouring but i’m just not getting the butter cookie flavour. I’d be willing to give this one another shot though with the robust flavouring sometime i’m sure.
Last tea of the evening. I figured i should stick with one of the rooibos teas that i’ve had for a bit longer than the others. I still enjoy this one though i think i’d much rather drink the toffee and cream version from Kally tea. Just not enough chocolate in this one though there is enough “berry” taste.
So seriously? There are giant strawberry chunks in this tea! I picked up this one to see how it compares to franks’ 52 teas strawberry rhubarb honeybush and stacy’s custom black strawberry rhubarb pie tea that we created. I’ve never seen a green strawberry rhubarb pie so in to the cart it went.
This is a really tasty tea! I still prefer my Ruby Pie from butiki teas but this is an interesting take on S&R. i don’t get a lot of rhubarb flavour out of this, but then rhubarb taste is a hard taste to catch imo. it’s generically tart ish. In any case. i am really quiet enjoying this one. and it’s a green tea! :) I can’t wait to try this one as a cold brew as i think it might be pretty darn tasty. Also, did i mention the giant strawberry pieces! Stacy has them too and they are so much fun to eat afterwards lol
I was surprised upon opening this one up, though i’m not sure why. it’s a green tea, though i think in my head i was expecting a herbal. I accidentally brewed this at a little too hot a temperature, which may account for some of the bitterness in the cup. As a result, I may hold off rating this until i’ve been able to try it again. What i DID like with this one, was that with a splash of sugar added to it, the flavours really popped! I think this would be pretty tasty as a cold brew with some sweetner.
