Another tea from my swap with Lala I am loving this one! I’m not getting the after taste that others did, beyond the taste of a slightly unripe pear in the after taste. The tea is a sweet, fruity tea with a pear taste that rolls through the sip.

So this is a white tea…with coconut. As i mentioned to Kittenna after looking again at the teas i swapped with Lala i think i was channelling my inner kittenna that day. Not that I’m not happy to try new teas but i think every tea i picked had coconut in it or a base i don’t typically prefer lol.
However! This tea? It’s quite nice. I think the vanilla helps to calm the coconut down so that it’s not jumping down my throat. It still wouldn’t be a cup that i’d have every day but it’s a pleasant cup.
Thank you so much to Lala for this swap! Loving it!
I am a fan of this honeybush! Having a cup of this tonight in an effort to drink up some of my close to being finished teas! 166 teas left to go! I’m stupidly aiming for getting down to 150 by next weekend before the girls and the tea shows up, but i’m betting that won’t happen. At least I know my cupboard is getting to a more manageable point :)
This tea is pretty nice as far as non black teas are concerned. I wouldn’t drink it every day but the flavours that are blending together here create a nice sweet, creamy tea that would be fantastic throughout the fall.
SIPDOWN! had this tasty little treat to finish off with dinner. Still not a fan of david’s tea but this one is alright by me. Nice to finally get through my 12 days of christmas teas…well except for the matcha from azzrian…can’t bring myself to open it yet hahaha
SIPDOWN! god i love a clean tea cupboard. All sort of productive tea drinking going to be happening…oh yes! Downgrading this because as i’ve come to learn, della terra chocolate and i rarely get along. this has got some blechy chocolate taste going on with the mint that is just not my happy place.
mmm this is a fruity, sweet tea that is quite nicely blended. I’m a littl sad that i accidentally let this cool off a whole bunch before getting a chance to really enjoy this hot. Thankfully i have a bunch more to play with though to be able to provide a much better review in the future. over all though, pleasantly satisfied!
Had some of this today while running a few tea related errands :) I like that the strawberry doesn’t overpower the black tea base, though i wish id had a bit of sweetner to add to it just to see how that changes the blend. next time maybe! Overall i will enjoy drinking this one :)
Borrowed a sample of this from my pregnant friend whose tea i’m babysitting lol. I’m not feeling the pu-erh in this blend but it is a tasty berry blend. It’s sweet and tart at the same time. I wouldn’t make this out to be a specific type of berry – i’m not feeling the same level of “strawberry” that others are. While this is a tasty blend, it loses a few points for being not so much pu-erh. I feel like you could make this with nearly any other base and you’d get the same sort of taste happening.
SIPDOWN!
this is a smelly tea that gives me a headache lol so it’s been lockewd away in a tupperware container since kittenna was kind enough to let me steal a sample haha.
This is…..interesting lol I actually wish the smell wasn’t so intense because i think? it’s a blend i’d really enjoy drinking. it’s just hard to tell since the smell is telling my taste buds conflicting things.
This is a sweet blend with just a hint of chai spicey flavour at the end of the cup. I would drink this again but for the smell of the tea that I just can’t get past. It’s quite delicious.
Apparently i’ve never bother to log this. I’m over this tea. Actually for the most part i’m over the tea emporium as i always find that there’s a strange taste in most of their blends. Take the roooibod for example. I actually enjoy rooibos, but theirs? it’s got this weird taste that overpowers nearly every other flavour that’s going on in the cup. Soooo thanks, but no thanks. this is like drinking a cup of rooibos.
Sipdown! Drinking a random tea that i’m too lazy to log since it’s a sipdown. Victorian Afternoon Tea from Kittenna This is a bit astringent for me but it’s overall not a bad little tea. Certainly glad i got the chance to try it :)
Edit: Also forgot the rating on this is linked to all my entries haha this would be about a 73 :)
oh man. So i cold brewed this one just for kicks. I am digging the cold brew quite a bit! Unsweetned there was a bit of pear hanging out in the background, and then with a little bit of sugar added to this, there’s more going on. Another white tea, so not my go to tea, but this isn’t half bad. It’s still not my perfect pear tea but it’s a refreshing tea nonethless that has a really nice base that it “pears” well with haha.
The tastebuds they are a changing! I’m less of a fan of this one when I first had it. Now, part of that may be the cold brew that i decided to try with this one but i’m just not loving it as much anymore. I’ll try and have a cup of it hot later but i’m just not feeling it. That’s likely because of the whole white tea thing i suspect since it’s just kind of a wimpy tea lol
…yeaaaah i’m pretty sure i mostly don’t like mate lol. Glad to have tried this but the rest will be in to the swap box!
Backlog from yesterday! I really enjoyed this one though i’m not sure what i was expecting. The strawberry taste is really nice and the “champagne” part of this tea is really delicious. I think in my head this was a strawberry cream so it was a little disconnected drinking it but once i was able to remind my brain that this was champagne! it was quite delicious. I’m really glad that i have a larger pouch of this one. Chalk one up to Cuppa tea for a great first impression!
backlog from yesterday day. I wanted to try this since my mom picked this up without asking me when she was in london haha. I have to say, i can get behind this as an every day morning tea. There isn’t a lot going on with it but it’s bold and black without being too bitter/astringent. I don’t get too much malty, but that’s maybe because i’m used to some of verdant’s malty teas heh. overall not too shabby, but also not a good tea for anyone who doesn’t like robust blacks.
Morning smoothie today with a splash of vanilla matcha! I’ve got a long day today followed by a quick check in with the doctor to see how blind i’ve gotten this year lol. Someday my prescription will normalise and i’ll be able to buy multiple pairs of glasses to suit my every mood. someday lol
Kicked off my day with this and so far my mouth is behaving enough to let me have some tea. Here’s hoping that keeps up! Enjoying this one as i haven’t had it in a while. I’m doing my best not to open any new matchas just yet so that i force myself to finish up the older ones that i have on the go. Just a few more left to drink up, then i need to find out if i’m actually supposed to drink my friends matcha that’s staying at my house while she’s pregnant lol.
Tried to cold brew this the other night because a recent hot brew of this just wasn’t as tasty as i remember it being. I think that i’m over this tea haha. I do really like the strawberry taste but there’s something in the brew that i’m not a fan of anymore. Sweeetned it’s nice and i can see enjoying this in the summer so i may tuck this away until it’s hotter :)
No notes yet.
I had a cold brew of this tonight since i’m not really able to drink much of anything with whatever the heck is going on with my mouth. Once i added some sweetner to this is was good, though the banana part was missing in this brew up of the tea.
So…i drank this yesterday before my mouth decided it wanted to eat me from the inside out. This was one of the teas i’d really been looking forward to. I suppose i should have paid attention to the fact that Vanilla Sky might as well be monk’s blend. But i didn’t. So i was disappointed. So much so that i logged the tea and didn’t write anything until today. sigh I have 2 other teas to try from Steep City but i’m much less excited about it now. For all i know, i wasn’t paying attention to those teas either and they’ll have something icky i don’t like or be essentially other teas i’ve had before.
Sooo looks like other people get some tea. that makes me sad.
especially since i can’t have any tea today because i need to figure out what’s going on with my mouth/face….and i’m still waiting for the dorcot to get back to me on my high white blood cell count…and i didn’t sleep enough last night because of testing.
sigh I wish it was tomorrow.
operation drink up the last of my LB so i can order more is in full effect! lol not that i want to get rid of it but i needed a break from my other blacks so today was “much loved LB day” with random new tea in a bag i shouldn’t be opening now but i’m going to pretend it was already open day.
HA! see previous tasting notes. Love this, and glad to be sharing it with new steepster pals in the new future :) YAY for swaps!
Morning matcha smoothie…and i do not like….much. I think that i prefer the pumpkin pie matcha to this one. I tried to cut this one with vanilla matcha, as i have done in the past with the pumpkin pie and it doesn’t seem to have helped. It’s still pretty strong for me and there’s one particular spice that is cutting through the rest instead of blending well. It’s not so much that it makes for a gross, terrible bad, icky smoothie but it’s not going to be a reorder for me. I also hate to think of how strong this would have been if i’d gone with my usual robust! Maybe i’ll try and use the rest in baking or something. that would be nice.
Having a cup of this tonight to wind things down. I have to stay up a bit later than normal to do some testing for work so I thought that i’d take some time to just enjoy “my” tea. I really am enjoying the strawberry and rhubarb-ness in this blend. There is maybe a bit less of “something” that i can’t quite place my finger on yet. It’s damn close to the small batch that Stacy initially made but missing a little something. Still, no complaints from me (just trying to pinpoint things). I could drink this for a long time…which is great because i have 168 cups of it haha (well had…)
