8155 Tasting Notes
Another from my what-cha order! Trying to balance between the 1023012938109382 samples i ordered from them and the swaps that i’ve recently picked up, in an effort to drink up SOME things before my other teas arrive. I added all the teas from missB in to my cupboard and was at 151 – so effectively double what it was at the end of december lol
This is a tasty offering from What-cha. It’s malty, sweet and delicious! Even cold it still offers up a really nice brew! I’m a fan and would consider reordering in the future.
I’ve had this one a couple times now and can honestly say that this is a darjeeling that i can get behind. It’s lacking that muscatel taste i don’t love…and there’s a sweetness here that is delicious. The last of this is off to Terri to try out since i know i owe her a few interesting teas to try heh
My dearest dexter sent me a lovely box of straight teas that i have had to neglect as i haven’t had time to sit and enjoy tea on my weekend recently. I don’t like trying samples from friends at work in travel mugs as i like to give them their full attention. Of course, as i say that, i drank this one several hours ago, and my other half dragged me outside before i had a chance to write a tasting note lol.
As some of you know, Jin Jun mei’s are hit or miss for me. I don’t seem to love them with the same passion as others do. This one was on the nice side though. Sweet, not really malty but reminded me of sweet potatoes a little…I had this one gulped down pretty quickly :) Also my first experience with this company if i’m not mistaken. :) thanks dexter!
Cavocorax gave me a cup of this to try out since it was once that i didn’t order. I had waffled on this one but in the end chose not to pick it up as i was fairly certain it wouldn’t be on my LOVED list at the end of the day. Turns out? I was right. While i do like the raspberry tea aspect of this, i found that it wasn’t very cashew like and at teh end of the day it felt a little wimpy. Not my favourite of stacy’s teas, and not one that i’ll miss…but it was really nice to get to try it, so thank you Cavo!
Cavocorax gave me up a precious bit of her tea because her package arrived before ours..and let me tell you. I wish to heck i’d been able to buy more of this now. As gross as this tea sounds (i don’t smoke, can’t stand it..though i do enjoy coffee…) it’s fantastic. It’s got that depth to it from the puerh…..the coffee kicks in making it seriously yum and then there’s that smoke hanging out in the background. I had several steepings of this today while trying to eek out as much as i could from this. Adding sugar made it more like a dessert…adding cream just made it more coffee like. I am a fan. seriously. SO GOOD! Anyone doesn’t want theirs, just pass that on to me!
i had a cup of this today…while i went through my cupboard and tried o get everything all tidied up for when my orders get here…since a few of them will take a couple weeks because of us to canada shipping, i’m hoping being organised will let me get a few sipdowns in before they arrive, so my start of year cupboard will be a little smaller lol
This one is malty and sweet and delicious! It’s not my favourite from YS but it’s a good one and worth having around until i drink the rest up :)
cavocorax shared the last of this one with me since she wasn’t feeling it anymore. Always happy to revisit teas that i’ve had in the past. The one thing i have to say about this tea is that any time it’s brewed, the entire apartment smells like vanilla and chocolate lol I really enjoyed this today…it was a great tea to start my day as i’m trying to get organised with my tea purchases and swaps that have come in recently as, as soon as my orders get here we’re moving in to sipdown mode! operation 50 will commence lol On the upside, my cupboard is relatively “fresh” with my oldest tea being 7? months old..so i’ve got that on my side still…even if i DO want to try and get to 6 months lol
Well then…first to review? that seems…not right. I had this one last night, and i have to say this is more red hot candy than cinnamon bread…i suspect in my head,i was thinking something more like janet’s cinnamon roll tea. However, that’s not to say that i didn’t love this. It was just the right cinnamon puerh balance, which is funny because i had two similar beverages like that yesterday. Cavocorax shared this one with me, and i’m grateful for the share! All i want to do is play with this one now…maybe add a little vanilla powder or brew it as a latte…zomg. exciting! haha
