5581 Tasting Notes
last tea of the day and a sample sipdown of that, from the lovely cteresa. Pretty sure i’d be willing to add this into my cupboard, even in a 100g quantity not because it’s the most amazing blow your socks out of the water rooibos, but because it’s lovely and pleasant and when i’ve been drinking it, i keep drinking it down without realising it. Quite pleasant on the whole, so thank you for sharing this one with me cteresa!
(on a cupboard note…added my yezi teas in today and i’m still officially under 150! – 140 to be exact… go me! Note that it’ll last long but hey, the longer the better haha)
another tea from the lovely cteresa though i must admit i’m glad there aren’t’t many more since between her and ysaurella/dinosara i’m looking at moving to europe so i can drink the teas i want, when i want!
I actually thought that i would like this more than i did. I am not a rooibos hater – i have both enjoyed it and not, depending no how it’s blended. In this particular instance the rooibos is wonderfully blended with the almond and red berry flavours….and that’s slightly the problem. I’m pretty certain that the RED BERRY flavour is just not something i generally like in french teas. I like ONE specific berry flavour and when there are multiple, i don’t enjoy it nearly as much. Now, having said that, i still drank my cup insanely fast and loved every moment of it…but it’s not as deliciously amazing to me as i’d hoped it would be for want of more non black blends in my cupboard haha
Thank you again cteresa
I’ve had this a couple times now and keep forgetting to write a note. Sadly i just looked at the time and realised i don’t have tie right this second, but i WILL come back to this tonight/tomorrow morning. Especially since this is a sipdown lol
My matcha was composed of the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
Now that I have two moments to breath, i really wanted to come back and review the Madagascar vanilla matcha that i finished up last weekend. I’m very partial to the French vanilla flavour from Red Leaf so i wanted to try and see how the two compare. I’ve had this a number of times now, straight, in a smoothie and as a latte. I have to say, my favourite was as a latte but even then, I found myself wishing it were more like French Vanilla. Now to be fair, i have NO clue how their supposed to be different, but i found the Madagascar Vanilla to be less smooth, with a bit of an edge to it, while the french vanilla is on the creamier side. It might be that i need to try this as a Robust flavouring level, but for now I’m leaning towards just sticking with the French vanilla.
What i have to say though, is that honestly, Red Leaf does a pretty bang up job with their more creamy flavours – the ones i would associate with Coffee or with milk. Vanilla, Caramel, Cheesecake, Chocolate…they’re all decent and the customer service is pretty bang on!
