5597 Tasting Notes
Another tea from the lovely Cteresa I quite like this one, though i would be hard pressed to name all the fruit flavors in this blend! I mostly get a rooibos vanilla blend with a dash and splash of citrusy flavour. :) Overall i quite like this one, and have a feeling that I may search this one out in future, especially since i am in need of GOOD rooibos blends in my cupboard. Thanks again cteresa! I hope my teas arrive soon :(
sample sidpdown! and i’m back down to 140 teas. 15 days ish to get through 35 more haha.
I received this in the mail the other day from Lala with a really thoughtful, surprise holiday card. :) It was a wonderful surprise to get in the mail! Thank you a bunch lala. This tea smells a lot like a combination of brioche and S&V’s sweet almond tea (i think it is…) that i enjoy.
I brewed this up this evening since i was in a bit of a holiday, festive mood after my afternoon with raritea. This has a great almond taste to it along with a bit of cinnamon. It’s not cinnamon heavy though – rather the cinnamon just enhances the almond flavour. over all a pretty tasty tea, though it’s a little thin? for my tastes. While drinking it, i kept wishing for it to have a bit more of a full feeling to it. however, still a delicious cup! thanks Lala
Another tea from my afternoon with Raritea I have to say, for anyone who hasn’t placed an order with teavivre this weekend, that i am a fan of this particular keemun, which happens to be going on sale tomorrow. :) I adore this one with a splash of maple syrup! I also chose to bring this one with my today because it’s another one that i haven’t had in ages. I was waiting to find out if the box i sent to terri would ever make it before drinking it, since i was ready to split my half of the order again if it hadn’t come back to us. But it did, so now i can enjoy it and bask in the delight of this mildly smokey, delicious tea!
I took this over to an afternoon at *Raritea*’s place in part because it travels well, but also because i haven’t had it in ages! I’m trying to balance my sipdowns with working my way through teas i haven’t had in a while :) I still quite enjoy this one though at times it just reminds me of drinking straight LB. :)
Another breakfast tea from this morning. While this one is malty and has a slight chocolate note to it, it’s not as sweet as american breakfast and comes across as a little bolder and stronger. Still a delicious tea that I can get behind having in my cupboard! This is my kick in the pants in the morning tea, while american breakfast is an easier, gentle push out of bed :)
for breakfast today, i’m have 3 breakfasts… scrambled eggs with lots of tasty things mixed in, american breakfast and french breakfast lol I wanted to see how the MF breakfast teas stacked up, since cteresa was kind enough to part with a sample of her American Breakfast. It’s been compared to wedding imperial, which is one of my favourite MF teas – so i’ve been excited to taste this one.
This is a great blend. It’s slightly malty, but sweet and chocolatey (not cocoa). It’s not too bitter, but i think at longer steep times that may happen. It does remind me of wedding imperial but there would be room for both of this in my cupboard because i like the way this tastes without the caramel that wedding imperial has. This is a seriously lovely tea! I will for sure be looking to get more when i get back to europe…some day. thank you cteresa!
I had a travel mug of this tonight while browsing the one of a kind christmas show here in Toronto. I was on the hunt for a few unique things for people but i’m not sure if i’ve quite found what i want. This helped immensely once it cooled off enough for me to drink :) so happy with this tea.
Edit: Ending the day at 141 (…+45)
I’ve had this a couple times now and keep forgetting to write a note. Sadly i just looked at the time and realised i don’t have tie right this second, but i WILL come back to this tonight/tomorrow morning. Especially since this is a sipdown lol
My matcha was composed of the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
Now that I have two moments to breath, i really wanted to come back and review the Madagascar vanilla matcha that i finished up last weekend. I’m very partial to the French vanilla flavour from Red Leaf so i wanted to try and see how the two compare. I’ve had this a number of times now, straight, in a smoothie and as a latte. I have to say, my favourite was as a latte but even then, I found myself wishing it were more like French Vanilla. Now to be fair, i have NO clue how their supposed to be different, but i found the Madagascar Vanilla to be less smooth, with a bit of an edge to it, while the french vanilla is on the creamier side. It might be that i need to try this as a Robust flavouring level, but for now I’m leaning towards just sticking with the French vanilla.
What i have to say though, is that honestly, Red Leaf does a pretty bang up job with their more creamy flavours – the ones i would associate with Coffee or with milk. Vanilla, Caramel, Cheesecake, Chocolate…they’re all decent and the customer service is pretty bang on!
