6406 Tasting Notes
so this was the tea that started my swap with beelicious. She was not impressed, and i’m willing to try nearly anything :) Turns out this is pretty gross. First off, it smells like tiger balm/vick’s vapo rub. There’s just something about it that isn’t right. Brewed, it tastes a little better….slightly smokey but mostly i feel like i’m drinking liquid vapo rub. It’s not even really “pine” it’s menthol more than anything. I am also not a fan. not the worst, but August uncommon has MUCH better offerings! Thanks beelicious! :)
Another from beelicious and one off my wishlist. I love this! It’s a great blend of chili, cacao and black tea. I imagined this one being spicier than it was, but i’m not disappointed. Because the flavours actually blend together really nicely, i don’t long for a spicier bite to this cup. It’s interesting and one that i would love to stock if i can find a better shipping price than 20usd. UGH. seems obscene for that expense to canada.
thank you beelicious She was kind enough to swap some of these teas with me so that i could give them a whirl and hopefully try them before they’re gone. Though even if they are gone, it still helps give me a sense of what the company is capable of before placing and order since international shipping is a flat 20usd. gross.
i can’t figure out what tea this one reminds me of. the aroma is absolutely that of another tea that i’ve had before…maybe one of the roasted oolongs that i’ve had? The difference here is that i am really enjoying the brew of this one. I prefer yellow teas that produce a sweet liquor, but this is still really nice and thoroughly enjoyable. roasted peanut oolong sort of taste…smooth, no bitterness and a satisfying cup. not heavy.
Ok seriously….something was working for the plantations that TTC gets their teas from this year. This is another tea that i hadn’t previously tried in another lot and it too is a delicious sweet, fruity tea. Similar to butikit’s PTA, but different. I like this probably the least of the three lots that i picked up (sun moon lake and the yuchi wilkd being the other two), but this is still a great tasty tea. cherry notes are here, as well as that sort of generic stone fruit kinda of taste. there’s a little hint of vnailla like flavours as well..but it lacks the bready sort of feel of the other two. delicious!
i’ve had this one before but didn’t rate it. Feels like maybe the last harvest was better for me, or i just did something silly today when brewing it. I didn’t dislike it, but it was a lesser cup of tea for me today with a slightly bitter edge to it. I’ll chalk it up to being tired and brewing it silly this morning for now and re try this again soon.
Finally getting around to having space in my cupboard to open a few more teas that i haven’t tried. This is one of those sorts of teas. I need to have this one again, to really reflect on it. I remember enjoying it, but i can’t recall why or to what extent. overall a positive tea drinking experience but i’ll have to write a more proper note when i get to having it again.
I pulled this one out of the cupboard a few days ago to try, in case i needed to break my no ordering rule to make sure that i get a bit more of these harvest from ttc before they’re gone. This was amazing. As a general rule, i’ve always really enjoyed this tea from TTC, regardless of the lot. I have to say though, that this lot is incredible. it’s cherry, malty sweetness in a cup. It was a couple days ago, so i can’t recall much more than that, but i do remember being really sad when i finished my travel mug lol
backlog from a couple days ago – i’ve been busy lately with wedding stuff. I’m going to be super sad when this one is gone, but i’ll be comforted with the fact that i do have a bunch of fancy french flavored teas to amuse myself with after :) I don’t get a lot of the espresso from this these days but i’m ok with that since it’s the chocolate strawberry i’m more of a fan of lol
