Pulled this one out to start my day. I wanted something delicious as we managed to sleep in today. I’ve got some errands to run and no energy to do so…then it’s board games tonight and we start sitting rental dog for a couple days tomorrow as well. I like that this one has a lovely base to complement the other things going on in this brew. it always reminds me of being outside. so good.

Another one from last night. Thankfully i have a little more to give this one another try. From what i recall last night – there is a LOT of sugar in this one. You know it’s bad when the second ingredient in the list is cane sugar….followed by white chocolate. and then pink sugar mix. IE. diabetics beware. it makes me sad though because this one had the most potential for deliciousness….instead it was more sweet than tangy raspberry and the brew turns into a slightly shiny, weird watery looking thing. Not a bad tea, as i did drink it but again, i won’t need more of this beyond my 10g or whatever i picked up.

Final Count: 113 (because i picked up a couple new ones)

Kristal

Thanks for the heads up. I’m not big on sugar in my teas. Even when I do lattes (the only time I put sugar in ) I only use like 1/2tsp. I was thinking of buying some of this tea to do a latte, but I’m really skeptical of the sugar, so I’ll save my money ;)

Sil

there’s so much sugar the tea sparkles when you pull it out in a teaspoon lol

ugh. No one has added the new davids teas to the database…and their website doesn’t really have them either so you get what i’ve done for now haha. I picked these up yesterday as motivation to get to my step count. Sadly i pretty much drank this one without really focusing on it last night. It’s more fruit tea than green tea IMO. I quite enjoyed the pinappley, coconut, apple taste that this one had. it might actually be a decent cold brew as well, however i didn’t love it enough to think about going back to pick up more. It was refreshing and tasty but i’m good with my giant mug from last night.

Kristal

I prefer my greens fairly straight, so I’m passing on this one as well! Once my local DAVIDs gets the loose leaf available at my store, I will pick up like 10g of monk’s blend but that’s it for the spring collection for me I think.

Sil

was more fo a herbal fruit tea to me…the tea was negligible imo.

Kristal

Yeah, when there is more fruit than anything I think they should just cut out the tea and make it a herbal, especially for white teas. By even a little white tea the cost of the blend goes up a lot and you’re not even able to appreciate the delicate flavours of white tea.

Kristal

*even adding a little

Another sample from evol ving ness this one isn’t as bad as others seem to think. The main problem is the abundance of licorice causing the sweetness to be a little overwhelming. there are other flavours here but the licorice sweetness buries a lot of it.

i think that’s 3 for 3 on this tea. Not good. Christina saved this for me to try. it’s like…it’s flat. or something. the very very very start of the sip is chocolatey and gets your hope up, and then everything else that this tea brings is like a giant slap in the face, it’s so bad. like ick. the contradiction of that potential followed by awful disappointment is just no.

Ubacat

I never had a straight tea that was this bad. It was supposed to be fresh tea too.

Sil

yeah. it was…bad

tea from christina this one is my first teasenz tea and it’s so pretty! giant, flat, sometimes transluscent leaves. the tea itself isn’t knock your socks off but it’s pretty good :) it’s a really light tea with sort of bean notes. thanks for sharing christina!

noms. GCTTB this is delicious! I don’t love green teas all the time, but there are a few out there who make me want to keep a couple in my cupboard. This is one of those. It’s fruity and sweet, with an almost nutty flavour profile in the background? almost? it’s not super vegetal but being a green tea, there’s some of that. mostly though, it’s sweet and delicious.

Delicious cup of this today. I am enjoying having some of my older teas today since i don’t really have the focus today for puerh. At least this way i’m exploring some of my older teas while also getting through some of my samples. I am starting to get through some of my straight teas as well, so i pulled a new one to try next week from me "recently purchased but not yet open box. Still have a ways to go to get to my Feb goal though. Today this cup is just smooth and old. i can’t really do it justice today but i’m super glad i was able to have a cup during some downtime at work so i could just sit with it.

oooh. so this one? kinda like a spicy oolong. No chocolate or real sweetness here, just a deecnt tea base that’s spicey…and i can pick out the oolong notes. I can live without tiny marshmallows but where is my chocolate? I’ll have to add some cacao nibs or shells to this and see if that works better for me.

Evol Ving Ness

My thoughts exactly.

Sil

interesting heh

Lauren | A Quarter to Tea

The range of opinions on this one are really mind-blowing to me. Samples come out of the same supply as order quantities, and the ratios/ingredients haven’t changed at all.

Sil

@lauren yeah it’s all good. i mean, i was expecting spicy…just need to add a little chocolate and brew for a little less time

Daylon R Thomas

Wow, that last sentence on one of the comments totally sounded different in my head. I was thinking of random chocolate pieces coming into the sample when it gets poured into the smaller bag. I’m sorry Lauren about that comment having a pretentious “expert” tone. Anyway, I was looking through the other reviews and the range of reactions is frickin’ weird. Looks like there is a warning about different taste buds on Steepster for a reason. Still totally stoked about the two ounces that I’m getting of it in the next order.

Lauren | A Quarter to Tea

No worries, Daylon — I didn’t take it that way at all, and more as a question or potential difference in supply. I just wanted to add clarity to the issue because there is such a huge range of opinions on this one!

special tea this morning. My other half splurged on this tea when we went to paris for me. I ADORE the white tea (yes white tea…) in this line and so he wanted to pick that one up along with the black tea for me to try. I don’t pull this one out of the cupboard often – i probably should more often, but when i do, it’s delicious. malty, spicy, fruity…just delicious.

Fjellrev

Shocker that you like the white tea! And the description of this sounds amazing so I can see why he went for this.

Sil

the white himalaya tea is RIDONKULOUSLY expensive… but i will steep it like 8 times and it’s super delicious.

Evol Ving Ness

Oh my word, Sil is resteeping….

Sil

i do it sometimes…just not always since typically i find the latter steeps are just weak facsimiles of what i find delicious about the first cups. :P

Sil

i also don’t typically mention resteeping in my notes, so i do it more than people give me credit for haha

tigress_al

You keep making me add teas to my wish list ;)
I agree about resteeping, I generally only resteep straight teas

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
