6481 Tasting Notes
Another cup from this morning. I figured before i finished off the last of this, i should have a hot cup of this again since last night was a cold brew. The rest of my ounce is off to Terri and TB in our BBB Box as an extra something with the other teas i sent this round. While i don’t mind this tea. i DO prefer it cold brewed with a little sweetner to a hot brew. All of that being said though…this doesn’t taste like carrot cake to me lol. ah well…still fun to have tried. :)
I am on a mission today. My goal is to get at minimum 10 sipdowns, though 20 would be preferable since i suspect i won’t have much time for sipdowns tomorrow with all that’s going on. Massage, board games! i suspect i’ll be out of the house all day :) However, i may use it as an excuse to bring my timolino and brew up a cup in it while playing games heh. This one is now officially out of my cupboard, though i suspect that it will be back sometime in April as I need to place a damn fine tea order ASAP! :) Thanks for letting me get the chance to try this one out terri!
Dug this one out of my “try not to open these until you drink more down” tin of teas that i have in my cupboard. I was really crazy the sweetness of this one. I had picked this one up on a whim when we went to chicago for the weekend…mostly because i seem to like fruit teas and because it smelled delicious. I’m not sure if this is one i could have around always…and i’d like to cold brew it one of these days and see how that works out. I need more “juice” type blends for the summer when my other half and i try to be outdoors as much as possible. Things i can just add water to and leave the tea to sit all day if that makes sense… I’m not sure that i’d really call this almond..but it’s a sweet nutty sort of tea and it’s what i wanted. so it’s great.
Final Count: 172 (8 sipdowns every day until April will get me there…wonder if i can manage 16 tomorrow hahahahaha)
i feel like i should be trying for two more sipdowns tonight but i just can’t bring myself to do it…instead i’m looking at this as working on a long term goal haha. I have no apple juice in the house so this isn’t the optimal way for me to be drinking this but it’s still tasty and still just what i wanted tonight. I’m feeling VERY disorganised today…i keep thinking it’s friday and starting to plan for “saturday” and then realising that no…i still have to get through friday. On the plus side, i booked my massage for this weekend so it’s going to be awesome. Not as much tea drinking as id hoped for, but massage + board games with friends in the afternoon = awesome
Is it bad that i only like this cold brewed now? Having had it both ways, my preferred way of drinking this seems to be as a cold brew. I’m nearly through my ounce and it’s been enjoyable but i also think stay has done much more amazing things with tea, so in a way i’m glad this was a limited edition. I’ll enjoy it while i have it and then move on. no regrets! :)
this was my other tea from this morning. I wanted something that was “flavoured” to go with my black teas…most mornings it’s 2 straight blacks + a flavoured in the mugs i take to work. This was just the right amount of flavour and spice and was the perfect accompaniment to the other tea this morning. I love steeping this one for close to 10 mins… When this is gone, i’ll have to pick up more…though i’ll likely get through my campfire blend first since they’re fairly similar, though this one has more depth to it from the addition of actual tea in it :)
funnily enough, I didn’t realise that i’d had this tea before via someone’s amoda box :) So colour me surprised when i saw a rating there…which i’ve since upped! This was a fabulously strong yummy cup of tea today. So i was either really in the mood for it or my tastes have changed slightly. It looks like straight blacks are my thing with the devotea, rather than the flavoured :)
I have been hoarding this tea..no longer! Today was 5 pearls for a 16oz travel mug and it was perfect. Seriously, i REALLY hope that Mandala is able to secure more of these in the future so that it doesn’t become like my beloved that i can’t bring myself to finish. :) Really though…these resteep well, and the chocolatey deliciousness of these are just awesome.
