5761 Tasting Notes
Thank you nicole! While i’ve been off of peach/apricot sort of teas for the last little while, I was happy to see this one show up. I tend to like harney’s tea base so i was hopeful on this one. I was right…once again the base blends very nicely with the flavouring and lends itself to a truly delicious cup.
another sipdown from today (141). I’m pretty much going to have my work cut out for me in terms of getting my cupboard under control this month, but i’m ok with that.
Because this is such an interesting tea, the rest is off to terri to try out. I quite like it, though i’m not sure about a re-order. Either way it’s been great to try these blends from bellocq as i have a better sense of what i might like from them given their smaller quantities are 3oz. Thanks again fuzzyP!
sipdown! mwahahah ’cause i sent the rest home with Cavocorax for her to try out. Nothing says AWESOME DAY ever than getting to give teas, get teas and throw around a small child ;)
Silly enjoy this one, though i’m not sorry it’s all gone. Decent enough cup but yabao seems not to me quite the right tea for me on the whole!
I received this as a sample in my latest Mandala order. I had to add the tea to the database so it’s no surprise that this is the first review. I’m not sure what to make of this one. I’m going to have to try a few steeps to see where this one takes me. I’ve only ever had GABA oolongs, and there IS a familiar taste there but it’s a black tea.
This is a rather unique taste. I really am having trouble describing it. Maybe my tea sister will do better since i AM sending her the other half of this sample. yeah….this one is confusing me lol it’s not malty..it’s reminescent of gaba oolongs, but it’s clearly NOT an oolong based on the taste… there’s no astringency but there is a taste there that reminds me of red rose bagged tea if i let it sit in my mouth.
huh. thanks for a unique experience Garret! more to come on this one i’m sure :)
This one intrigued me so i asked Garret to send a sample my way in my last order. I try not to buy oolongs until i’ve sampled them because i’m so picky about the ones i like or don’t. While this one is certainly interesting – it’s still not quite up my alley. It’s a roasted oolong and has cinnamon and sweet notes to it but i can’t quite get behind it. That being said though, it’s a taste preference thing rather than this being a bad tea. :) I’d recommend others give this a shot :)
(also this is really tasty as the “water” to instant oatmeal lol)
Soooo aliexpress is a dangerous place that i’m not sure i want to get into. However, there have been some great teas out of it that Tastybrew has shared with us through the BBB Box so i’m super happy that she continues to share with us.
I wasn’t sure about this one. It’s green. I opened it, and it smelled like something i should be eating, not drinking. I had faith in TB though…so i brewed some up today and took a sip.
This doesn’t remind me of Laoshan green. It’s different. It’s…like.spinach but softened…as it cools a sweetness comes out. not sure if i would call it caramel but it is sweet.
I like this. As a green it won’t be on my list of number 1 favourites but it IS tasty and i am glad to have tried it. :) I think if you were a fan of greens, this would be one for the list!
another delight from the BBB Box shared by terri. Working from home this morning so i’ve got time to enjoy my teas and drink a number of them :) While i quite enjoy this one, i think i like the other one from this morning just a little better. this one has a fruity sort of taste to it that i like, but will grow tired of eventually as it reminds me of apricots or peaches..
