5597 Tasting Notes
i’ve been drinking this over the morning. It appears as though i’ve had less success this round with this tea. Today it’s a bit too vegetal and bitter for me. Not sure what i did differently this time around but this morning, none of my steepings have been overly delicious though i do know i liked it quite a bit last time. hmmm ah well. You can’t win them all! thanks again for sharing this with me terri!
when is an earl grey not really an earl grey? When it’s THIS earl grey. heh Another tea sent to me by alice that i was a little wary of. EG’s are not my favourite tea and this one smells VERY strongly of bergamot. However, after brewing this up, it’s not really like most other EG’s that i’ve had. It’s a little more floral..and the bergamot takes a back seat to things. overall not a terrible cup, but i’ll save the rest to pass on to a friend who loves EG’s :) thanks alice! it’s neat to see how different teas can be.
this was sent to me by Halieod a long while ago and it appears as though i haven’t had a chance to log it until now. I’ve had a number of cups of this, though its not always the first thing i reach for. What i like about this is that it’s a roasty taste, without being an oolong ;) I’m glad that i’ve had this one to try! Thanks Halieod!
I want to try and brew this like real chai with the next steeping. I had multiple steeps of this in the early morning and it is a terribly delicious chai. I’m quite happy with this monthly blend over some of the previous ones :) The base really works in this one to blend with the spices going on. I’m beginning to think that Verdant has got their chai going on, as I am a fan of a number of them :)
Brewed a cup of this much earlier in the morning. I had to open the seal to send some off to a tea friend so i figured that i was safe to try a cup before the holiday season ends in case i decided i MUST have moar! This is a highly satisfying cup of tea. It doesn’t scream cocoa but there is for sure a malt cocoa taste that runs through this cup. I can see enjoying this one until the last of it is gone :)
sipdown! Ok this needs to come back now as i’d like to reorder. I didn’t think i would, but today, it’s like i found the magic sweet spot. It was closer to 1TBS for 8oz and then steeped for about 6 mins. Now it’s a creamy, vanilla citrus blend..it’s like a delicious cake like thing. i don’t know..i can’t explain it but this? this is good. yes please!
mmm thanks for sharing this one with me dexter! This brings me officially to 149 – so i’m under my black friday goal and consider myself to be officially working towards tea purchases. 1 sipdown = 1 tea i can purchase lol.
This is a pretty decent assam. It’s got a bit of astringency to it, but not so much that it’s less enjoyable. There’s a teeeeny bit of sweetness hiding in the sip as well, it’s not a malty assam. :) i like this one!
