Another tea from this morning…on another note anyone else getting tired of hitting the save…having the website freeze, expecting your note to be gone and then checking your tealog and finding it there? Happens almost every other tea for me heh. Enjoyed this one today as it was what i was in the mood for, an average every day sort of black tea.

Terri HarpLady

I’ve been reminding myself to copy each post before I hit the button, just in case. About have of my posts have frozen, but then it turned out to post anyway, like you said.

drank Special Dark by Mandala Tea

So…i’ve had a long day at work today. I’m still trying to get work done/clean up things today so that MAYBE tomorrow i can work an actual 7.5 hour day. Wouldn’t that be lovely? This was what i had for breakfast, before leaving the house, and i suspect what i will have again tomorrow. I actually really want to try this as a latte, but we need more milk in the house.

Apparently I also need to write this note in my sleep according to Shmiracles lol. But that’s ‘cause she’s silly. No sipdowns tonight i’m afraid since i’m not even having tea tonight. it’s all Rye and Coke ’cause that makes work WAY more relaxing and fun this late in the evening :)

drank Cottage Night by T by Daniel

I suspect that some would refer to this as being similar to forever nuts by David’s Tea, at least from what i can remember it tasting like. I like the colour of this brew..it’s a happy place for me today. I like this one…a hint of cinnamon, some almond flavours kicking around..yep works for me tonight AND that puts me at 170 for the evening.

i think i can, i think i can, i think i can….

Sil

on a random other note.. i had orange path in my cupboard, but not logged..i clicked on the link and it took me to old steepster…. http://steepster.com/teas/river-tea/43840-orange-path but i had a review in my tasting log of that tea, but in NEW steepster…

yyz

Sil for some weird reason there are three orange path teas u der river tea. Your review is here http://steepster.com/teas/rivertea/43838-orange-path.

Sil

Yeah, sorry I did find it but it was weird seeing old steepster heh

yyz

Weird for me it came up as new steepster but no review. It’s like a ghost of steepster past.

drank Red Velvet Cupcake by T by Daniel
6160 tasting notes

So this isn’t exactly cupcake tasting to me..but it does have that echo of “red velvet” taste about it. It’s a rooibos tea but doesn’t taste like that woodsy rooibos that i don’t like. instead it’s very muted and takes a background to the other flavours that are trying to hang out with this tea. Overall, not my favourite but not a bad tea. Just happy enough to be splitting this 3 ways haha

Preparation
Boiling 5 min, 15 sec

drank Strawberry Balloons by T by Daniel
6160 tasting notes

Picked this one up at the tea festival in a shared purchase with Kittenna and Raritea. Gotta love being able to pick up sample sizes and then split them 3 ways haha. This one is a green tea and the strawberry taste is pretty darn tasty. Only downside is that as it cools, there’s a floral note hanging out in the background that i don’t like. Did i mention i kind of forgot about it? heh. sooo many shiny things to distract me with tonight…

Preparation

Ooh! Shiny things!

Sil

yeah… it’s like when you, SQUIRREL!

Kittenna

Mm, looking forward to trying these!

drank Pu'er Tonic by Verdant Tea (Special)
6160 tasting notes

I’m not sure how i feel about this one. I don’t dislike it, but it sort of blends in to a more bland blend than i’d like. and i totally got distracted mid review looking at wedding venues again. Every now and then i feel the urge to at least look at a few things and try to figure all this crap out. But at the end of the day, there’s very much a part of my that kinda wants to keep it small a la city hall wedding with parents and a couple close friends before going out to dinner somewhere with some good music and food. Like 10 ppl max…. sigh decisions, decisions…

drank Ruby Pie by Butiki Teas
6160 tasting notes

Another tea from this morning. I realised today that I hadn’t had MY blend in a while so i should bust out of that. Made myself a travel mug for work today and was happy for doing so. I really need to drink this more often as i love the tangy pie/rhubarb/strawberry of this one :)

Anyone else feel like the search functionality was broken or something. Teas just don’t come up for me, even when using my usual tricks. So i have to view all and go find them, or dig through my cupboard. Ah well…

This was a morning tea as i’m trying to work on some of my larger quantities of teas to help trim my cupboard down :) I still enjoy these which is good since my favourites are no longer available. These are a great second choice :) Today was 7 pearls for my large travel mug and it was delicious!

Preparation
Boiling 3 min, 30 sec

I had that problem with White Rhino. White Rhino from Tea Emporium came up as the only hit. Only when I entered “White Rhino Butiki” did the the tea I want come up.

Sil

yeah even that wasn’t working for some of the teas… tried variation on themes and nothing. :(

VariaTEA

Had that issue with DAVIDs Genmaicha. I had to go through my cupboard.

Dinosara

Yeah I’ve noticed that sometimes I will enter a tea name exactly and it won’t come up in the drop down, I have to actually hit enter to search for it. I figure it’s something buggy that will smooth itself out eventually… the search is often one of the buggiest things :P

Dinosara

I think I figured out the search: it is suddenly sensative to work order. Case in point, I just searched for “vietnam tung ting”… no drop down results. I searched for “tung ting vietnam” (actual name of the tea) and it showed up. When working with retailer names, you can put them before but you still have to put the first word of the name in first (I can search for “davidstea tung” and get the tea to appear in the dropdown, but not “davidstea vietnam”)

Oh, quirky code!

Sil

AH! i shall try that tonight dinosara….good catch :)

Yep…last tea for today as i snack on a tart from the tea festival this weekend (soooo good!) I’m pretty proud of myself. I organised my cupboard this weekend, bought a bunch of teas at the tea festival and still managed to end the weekend at 173. That means i’m only up 2 teas from January 31, despite having picked up a bunch of teas this weekend. What’s also nice is that i have a plan of attack for the next few teas i need to drink up, which is good since i’ll have tea from my dear swedish chef soon, along with the BBB Box, the Canadian Travelling tea box and my Feb Verdant blends box. I think i’ve also got a swap with variaTEA in the mix and a few others that i told to poke me in feb to swap teas with, so it should be a good time this month.

I like this tea a lot because it’s easy. Toss in a couple bags, let is sit for as long as i want and it’s a tasty hot mess of apple cinnamon goodness. DO i want it all the time? No…but on evenings when i’m super tired and lazy, a couple tea bags of tasty tea is a nice thing to have.

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more
Fjellrev

“Plan of attack.” Geez, so violent, Sil!

Rosehips

a tea festival sounds wonderful.

Sil

Rosehips…it’s nice especially because it’s still small enough not to be overwhelming but big enough to not feel like it wasn’t worth it heh

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
