another day….another puerh. :) This one comes from Boychik I chose this one to drink today, while i putter around the house getting ready for this afternoon’s meet up. Bonny is visiting here so a few of us are getting together this afternoon to hang out. :)
So far this has been a really smooth journey. This isn’t BOLD, in your face sort of puerh…it’s a mellow, soothing, relaxing sort of drink. more to come likely once i get home.
Backlog from last night. We got in and immediately were asked by friends to come over for an impromtu board game night…so needless to say we didn’t get in until stupid early this morning, and of course i couldn’t sleep in. What’s made this worse is that I checked my tracking today for my butiki order and it says delivered – 6 days ago. But you know what i don’t have? anything. Not to mention that it’s not even “attempted delivery, here’s a card, go get it at the post office…” it says full on delivered. Which means i have to pray it’s at the post office, or there’s a good chance i’m just SOL when it comes to having a final round of stacy teas at this point sigh
so annoyed. The last of this batch is going off to terri so that she can understand why this tea weirdly went up in my rating while zhu rong went down…all because of the different harvest lol however, there’s another 4oz in my cupboard to crack open lol Hoe it’s as delicious as this batch was
Boychik sent this one my way a while back, and these days i’ve been trying to get through those sorts of samples. I have so much puerh in my cupboard and it’s sad when i don’t get to take time to drink it. So I’ve made a promise to myself to continue to make time for myself for my puerh and start trying to take back my life from work :) I drank this over the course of the morning, while booking our vacation! a month to go and we get some serious relaxation time. Spent a little more than i wanted to, but after the year that i’ve had – i need it.
This is a bold, rich puerh. It’s not for those who like wimpy teas. :) I love the colour of this tea…a deep red/burgandy like colour… was especially nice when i accidentally poured it all over the white floor haha.
Initial steepings of this were very woody, slightly leathery but with a bit of a sweetness to it? Later steeps the rougher edges that i didn’t realise were there, smoothed out and there was a hint of a tobaccos like flavour coming through.
I have to head out to meet up with my other half but i may drink more of this later.. it’s tasty! thanks boychik!!
My tasting notes are all out of order this morning and a little bit random. This is a tasty tea. I think my only complaint is that there’s just a bit too many cloves going on. I really like the vanilla, malt and smoothness happening going on. i’ll have to play with this one a bit more – maybe try it with milk and a bit of honey.
