4923 Tasting Notes
Sipdown :) Another nicole tea (there are more coming…) I have been not so fond of my peach teas lately but this one made up for that. While it was clearly a peach tea, there was also the apricot notes that came through, and likely made it more enjoyable for me. I think this would make a fantastic iced tea. I think i’ll be placing an order with these folks once i get my cupboard down to a more manageable size. thanks nicole!
SIPDOWN! Thank you again nicole for this one. I haven’t had much luck with kusmi teas until now. THIS is a kumsi tea i can get behind, so i’m inclined to think that maybe it’s just their black teas with bergamot that i don’t enjoy. I think nicole also sent me an assam from the company so i’m interested in seeing whether that one also appeals to me. If so, i’ll stick to Kusmi’s straight teas :) This was unlike other yunnans that i’ve tried. No astringency, not too bold but smooth and delicious! even the resteep was pretty darn good :) Thanks Nicole!
SIPDOWN! Another tea from teh lovely nicole I was worried a little about this one because teas with the word “blossom” in it tend to be floral in nature. This one is no exception, but not so much that i didn’t enjoy it. I REALLY liked the citrusy flavour of this one and the base is a very smooth black that didn’t overpower the taste of the tea or interfere with it. It was a really nice afternoon tea to be drinking. There are floral notes in this, at least as far as my tastebuds go. it is also one heck of a delicious smelling tea! Thank you nicole!
man..have i been drinking tea today! Didn’t get a chance to log a bunch of my teas so a few incoming at the moment to catch up. This is part of my 52 sipdown challenge i’ve given myself and one more cup and i should be able to wrap this one up. Not a re-order but it’s been decent enough to drink down.
SIPDOWN! (225) it’s colder today so i’m opting for a bit of chai. I finally remembered to try this one steeped in milk so that makes me super happy. This is for sure a chai that i prefer steeped in water with a bit of milk and honey added after the fact. I think it’s because of the citrus in this chai that becomes slightly muted when steeped in milk. It’s not BAD in milk, it’s just that part of what i love about this chai is the orange/citrus aspect of it! yay for a wonderful time drinking up this tea from red blossom.
sipdown! Terri is my most awesome tea sister who sent this my way. But i suck. I was drinking this in the morning and apparently i’m a little tired and stressed still because without thinking i picked up the leaves and tossed them out with the other cup of tea i was drinking….there was no way to salvage them and yes…i stared long and hard at the garbage trying to figure out if i could get them out. Sooooo i didn’t get as many steeps out of this one as i wanted to but i DID get enough out of it to know that i really enjoy this one. I have more of this in my cupboard (i think it’s the 2012 version) so i’m looking forward to getting to have more and actually finish steeping it! sorry terri! :(
I don’t think that this is a tea for me, though i thank my tea sister terri for sending this my way. There’s too much pepper/smokey flavour going on that offends my tongue. it’s a little strange though since i typically enjoy those sorts of flavours…so this is staying on my list to try again in the future.
