4923 Tasting Notes
SIPDOWN! (222) Another i finished off yesterday that was delicious! I actually tried this one in my new ZOKU slushie maker and had a blast with it. My next attempt will be at a creamier sort of tea i think. Maybe some of those mint teas + milk heh.
Overall, i’m happy with this one as a rootbeer tea and might even consider re-ordering if it ever comes back :)
I’m going to have to give this one another try later since pretty much my feeling on drinking this yesterday was YAWN That’s right…I picked this one up to see if it was something i could offer my parents as a replacement for some of the UBER expensive teas they drank in Paris. Sadly this in no way compared to those. If anything, i’d prefer to be drinking water from a spring. At least i’ve got a bit more to try with again.
Ick. Not sure if it’s just my sample but this had an abundance of coriander, which i like just fine but in this cup from yesterday, took over everything. There was barely any mint presence or even that familiar laoshan green taste. I’ve got some left for trying a cold brew with but unless this is just my sample, this is not the tea for me. I expected a more balanced blend of mint, green, coriander and cardamon.
Had more of this yesterday – really enjoyed getting to drink a bunch of tea yesterday while “spring” cleaning the entire house. Next few weeks are going to be a bit crazy and we have a friend coming up to visit us at the end of the month so we wanted a good solid cleaning done to make life easier for the time being. This helped me wake up and get going right away :)
Some backlogging to do throughout the day now that steepster is back up. Yesterday i finished off a tea that Terri sent my way that i couldn’t find in steespter so i never logged it. Nan Jian “Golden buds of joy” Shu 2009 from Mandala. Sadly i didn’t realise at the time steepster was down so i don’t have much to say on the subject besides the fact that his tea made me feel calm. it was woody but not earthy…my other half said it tasted like it smells when you walk in to a woodshed after wood’s just been cut for winter. I think he’s likely a “pu-erh” drinker since that’s the first time he’s ever enjoyed a tea that he’s tried. :) So this was a winner!
Cold brewed this today and it’s delicious! I’m thinking maybe trying this out in my NEW ZOKU SLUSHIE maker tomorrow…or maybe i’ll make a chai slushie…licorice chai? hmmm i’m super excited to test this baby out!
Meanwhile in tea land..this one is a tea i prefer cold strangely…the cold brew evens out the rooibos taste and really lets the fruit flavours come out a bit more.
Also..just for cavocorax (today puts me at 224)
