7972 Tasting Notes
i actually made just this on it’s own tonight… last cup of the evening. This one makes for a richer, more dark chocolate cup than the herbal infusions version which is a little lighter. Works for me though, since i want my cacao to be strong and delicious and i just can’t get behind herbal infusions anymore with all the trouble friends have had. so yay for a new source of cacao!
Final Count: 79
oh campfire blend…your tea is delicious and the aroma protects me from the nastiness of my other half’s farts tonight :) yeah… worst smell ever! On that note…had a cup of this while we watched a show before i pass out. Almost 10pm so i can finally go to bed after being up since 5:30am friday morning. go go work weekends! i think i forgot to restock this one so i might end up needing another verdant order soon… almost through this tin!
smoke scent? check. smooth taste? check. overly smoky? negative! hahaha… so this is one of those lapsangs where a lot of it’s bite is in the aroma. Actually drinking this, it’s clearly a smokey tea but nowhere as smokey as i expected it to be based on smell alone. I’m looking forward to seeing how stacy blends this one with banana! :) glad i was able to pick up a bit of this one in my order!
i was drinking this most of the morning but sadly my taste buds are not cooperating today or maybe it’s my brain. the taste of this one is super familiar and yet, i can’t place it. very frustrating. I’m going to have to order more of this one because it is super delicious, refreshing….yeah that’s all i’ve got for now heh
Cup from this morning in between special dark steepings heh. going to be a loooooong day. i still hold that River Tea does fruit teas much better than their black straight teas. that being said, this one isn’t too bad. there’s a maltiness to this one that goes along with the slight bitterness that i kinda like from time to time.
I’ve been doing my best to try and use my little teapot at least once a week. It’s my first tea pot and needs some serious love before it’ll be all awesome sauce. Doing so though, also gives me an excuse to drink special dark every week haha. I am a fan of this puerh – have been since i first tried it way back when. I really enjoy getting to have a few dozen steepings of this and watching the flavours change. Hopefully my little pot will appreciate it!
i treated myself to this one last night. I’m trying to take my time drinking through the bit that i purchased since i’m not likely to be picking it up on a regular basis. Unless there’s a sale it’s hard to justify the price for a tea that isn’t travel mug friendly EVEN if it IS delicious. I need my teas to be able to handle travel mugs, if only because the vast majority of my tea is had via that means. Not the most amazing way to drink tea but there are limited options at work otherwise. Going to call it a new day now, and land my final count for Friday at 80. On the upside, i’m still at my goal for this month with a couple more days left in the month before i’m travelling again heh.
Final Count: 80
having a cup of this while i decide on which puerh to drink up today. I’d like to have at least 2 since i’ve got another 17 hrs before i sleep…wheeee! i do find it relaxing at least on release weekends…and this IS my last one until January.
I still enjoy this one with a splash of honey. I think though, when i made it, i really wanted kaphaa lol so maybe that will be next. maybe :)
