6852 Tasting Notes
eep! Sorry MissB this is not one for me. I tried brewing this in milk today to see if i could get rid of the weird bitterness that i wasn’t a fan of when brewed in water – it didn’t help enough. For sure the taste was improved but the spices are just the wrong ratio/blend for me. Glad to have tried it though!
mmm another sipdown from this morning. Thank you again charlotteZero for sending this my way. I’m not sure i’d have picked this up myself ever given the generic “red fruit” in the description which i’ve come to not enjoy, but this, this is delightful. I’ve really enjoyed drinking this one so i’m super glad you sent it along for me to try. Thanks again!
Another sipdown from this morning! Let me tell you after a little over a week of waking up and being able to draw back the curtains and see the ocean and mountains…today was an adjustment…hello brick wall of the other apartment building…so nice to see you. sorry we’ve missed you..NOT. lol I love this one from teavivre and will be ordering more once i get into a better position to stock up again. Malty, chocolatey goodness.
well now that i’m almost organised for tomorrow, i figure i should log a few of the teas i’ve had this morning. I left for vancouver with 139 teas in my cupboard and came back to a cupboard of 158 (with one incoming swap).
This is a sipdown, since i need to work in a few of those to justify my 20 tea purchase! (oh and a few teas are living with Cavo at the moment…so technically i’m a bit higher).
I thoroughly enjoyed this one from F&M – better than the queen Anne, but nothing to hold in my cupboard forever and ever. This is a good every day sort of tea that is good for those times when you don’t really want to think about the tea you’re drinking, you just want to enjoy it while you do things :)
Sipdown! Bringing me down to 137….not that it’s going to help much since holy crap I bought 21 teas while here….guess no buying in May unless I can have a really productive Sunday. Heh. I know there are a we few sipdown teas waiting for me at home, but I’m not sure it’ll be enough.
This tea will be on me reorder list for sure. It is a delicious, delicious black tea that has made. My Vancouver mornings even more wonderful…. It has a strength to it while not being overly in my face….and the flavours out of thinks one make me sit up and take note with every sip. I never expect it to be nearly as yummy as it is every time I take a sip lol.
Sipdown! Yay! Not that it really counts since I’ve purchased tea while on a vacation but at least it will be one less to a) bring all the way ack home and b) sipdown to try and make my goal when I DO get home.
My other half and I have settled in to a great routine in the evening here….we cook dinner, sit on the balcony, play a game, go down to the whirlpool and then either play another game or watch a tv show before bed. I’m really going to miss our evenings here when we get home so we’ll have to see if we can find a way to keep it up on week nights I don’t have to work heh
I feel like I’ve had this tea way more often than I’ve logged it. It’s a tea that is similar in profile to Stacy’s wild mountain tea….though different enough that the two are unique teas. I’m not sure how often I’d restock this as I’m partial to the sun moon lake Assam if I have to choose just one, but I’d be happy enoug rotating sample sizes of the lots in to my cupboard from time to time, esp with free shipping on those at 25$
Final count: 138 (however there are teas to be purchased here and teas probably waiting for me at home…)
I have been awful at writing tasting notes on vacation. I’m actually drinking more tea than I’m writing about but I have no desire to do much but sit in weave of my mountains and stare at the sea listening to the waves crashing…smelling that pacific air while the sea birds cackle….
Today was an amazing day. Sunny, warm….the perfect day to spend in Stanley park. We walked the sea wall, sat at the lighthouse and had lunch, relaxed on ether beaches, trekked through the forests, where I basked in that familiar smell of “mountain forest” that made me think of summers spent hiking trails….. We got a little sunburnt, and now we’re “home” relaxing on the balcony with a cider/beer cooking some fresh pasta from the market with delicious cheese from the market….best. Day. Ever. And tomorrow we’re probably going up to do someone more non city walking…. Let me tell you, we’re averaging anywhere from 12 to 35 km a day and it’s fantastic.
Oh the tea? It was the perfect accompaniment to watching the sun come up this morning….
