4669 Tasting Notes
I’m finally getting around to trying this tea. kittenna made me buy it before it was all gone and i’m happy enough that i did. It smells divine, though i must say on the whole i prefer the strawberry rhubarb pie that Stacy and i created. They are two different beasts but i like my teas to have a strong solid base and i often find that white teas jsut don’t cut it for me. It’s also a pretty ridiculous price all things considered, but then often white teas are. i guess i shouldn’t complain too much though since i prefer black bases to whites so i’m happy with the typical pricing for my preferred tea bases. :)
This is a brown sugar sort of strawberry sour kind of tea. overall, not too shabby.
Inspired by kittenna yesterday i also put some of this in to cold brew. I wish i’d been able to try the lemon as well but at least this helps narrow down which i love the best. :) Lemon will be tried next up i think. In terms of comparing this one with orange and cream – i much prefer orange and cream cold brewed. However this one is still a tasty cold brew that is less tangy than i want it to be, but it’s still pretty good. I think i like lime chiffon best as a hot brew though for that extra bit of tangy zip (but not of miracle whip). HA! anyway…good times :)
SIPDOWN! I’ve been a fan of having this one in my cupboard for a while now, though I think it’s more of a winter tea for me so i’m glad it’s done for now. I’ll likely restock this when it starts to get cold again since i tend to prefer it when it’s cold outside. I was inspired to finish this off since Helena reappeared for a bit today and this is certainly HER tea :)
this is a new blend coming out from janet that she included as a surprise sample in my order for some of the trouble i encountered with her website. I have to say sometimes that i like having issues with my orders if only to really see how stores deal with problems. Janet has some excellent customer service in case you were wondering :)
I’m beginning to notice a trend with a lot of Janet’s black blends in that they all taste vaguely familiar. In this case, i’m getting memories of the steapshoppe’s cinnamon swirl bread but without the cinnamon part. :) not that it’s a bad thing but so far i’m finding i can live with msotly just her cinnamon swirl bread in my cupboard and maybe one of the chocolate teas. I’ve got plenty more to try though and i’m looking forward to it!
ick. do not like. This is certainly got that bitter orange taste going on…with some spices. I wouldn’t call this cake though, nor would i call this delicious. I wonder if janet has changed her recipe around or i just managed to get more spice than tea in this cup. I’ve got more left in this sample so i’ll be trying it again but so far, colour me unimpressed.
