4861 Tasting Notes
I realised this morning that i have a bunch of 52 teas that i don’t often drink in my cupboard. They’re not teas that i love, but they’re also not teas that i hate. Mostly they’re average teas that i just need to drink since i want my cupboard to be filled with teas that i LOVE! :)
This one is better after having sat for a while in my cupboard. I think it might be a decent cold brewed tea, though it’s not overly “cotton candy” for me. It’s more sweet black tea, if that makes sense :)
SIPDOWN! (191) thanks again nxtdoor I cold brewed this overnight and i’m sipping on it this morning while i impatiently wait for my kettle to boil. I actually like this a bunch as a cold brew – moreso than most greens that i’ve cold brewed. There is no bitterness in this brew and the fruitiness of the tea complements the sencha nicely.
Good morning hump day!
I’ve come to the conclusion that this is a winter tea. I’ve also realized that while I love licorice….I like chewing it. This is a great tea! The flavouring is totally black licorice goodness…my favourite kind! But a “normal” sized cup is good enough for a sitting and I really want it to be cold out when I drink it…likely the whole chai thing :) still though? I love this and I’m happy I have it. Love the ideas that come from Stacy’s customers – especially when they’re fellow steepsterites :)
Having a butiki evening apparently as I’ve got this one and another 2 going to be happening :) I’m trying to work on finishing up those few butiki teas that I only have a little bit left of, so that once Stacy posts the last few new teas coming up, I can place an order to pick up the new teas and restock my old favourites. This one is for sure a summer tea. I think I like this best hot brewed and then cooled down with a splash of sugar. I’m still not a fan of the sludge it leaves in my brew basket but that, I can get over. A sour, fruity blend – I’m a fan :) though its not a winter blend for me
sipdown! (albeit a fake-ish sort of one since i’m passing the rest off to an office mate who loved the cup i made for her…which is good because i don’t like this nearly as much as i initially did.)
Edit: i’m at 192 for those curious as to where i’ve manage to land…however i fully expect that will go up shortly as i get to open my birthday order this saturday AND i think another package showed up today, that i can pick up tomorrow…wheee!
SIPDOWN! So i was right…this IS tasty as a cold brew. I think i like this better than H&S in both hot and cold forms which is good to know. But this is also for sure a much fruitier blend than H&S – the focus being on the flavour rather than the tea base. thanks again nxtdoor for this one!
forgot i had this one yesterday as well. Thanks nxtdoor I think i rather like this one. i think it would probably make a really good tea latte. The hazelnut taste in this one is pretty nice and i do like that it’s a honeybush. I don’t think i would like this as much as a rooibos as there would be that danger of the woodys taste coming through. instead the honeybush here adds a bit of depth to the hazelnut taste. thanks nxtdoor!
