5357 Tasting Notes
This is my last backlog from ysterday – which means i officially ended my evening with 250 teas. What i love most about our little contest is that we’re both going to be rewarded with smaller cupboards at the end of it haha
This tea was a pretty big disappointment (sent to me via terri). No pear, very little caramel, nice base? i guess. sigh
Another tea from yesterday, also sent to me via kaylee (who appears to have gotten it from adagio breeze). I really like this tea! I just wish that the coriander was a more present flavour in the actual brew. There’s a hint of the coriander, but mostly this is a lovely strawberry brew. I suspect that cold, it would be even better. My only complaint is the lack of a distinct coriander note running through it, so dropping the rating a few points because of that. Thanks again kaylee!
Catching up on my logs from yesterday so that i can continue trying to kick terri’s butt in our sipoff :) This was a sample sent to me courtesy of Kaylee! This was an interesting tea. It calls for boiling, but given the green tea in this, i opted for a slightly cooler water temp. Now i have to say, that i didn’t expect to like this one because i am not a fan of most teas with florals in them. But i wanted to try it and kaylee was awesome enough to send it my way.
This is a pretty decent cup of tea. It’s not really up my alley but i wouldn’t turn down a cup. It has a great vanilla, rose scent and the taste is similar. Luckily the rose doesn’t overpower the brew and the vanilla complements it very nicely. This was a lovely cup to try! Thank you Kaylee
This is a pretty decent black blend. I picked this up when i was in vancouver visiting silk road and i’m glad that i did. I opted for the limited edition, let’s see how they do with a straight black tea before ordering more online. This is a pretty decent bold-ish cup of tea. I’t pretty smooth, with a little bit of kick to it, if you’re the sort that isn’t a fan of bold, black teas heh
sipdown! I needed something without caffeine just to change things up a bit. While this isn’t a bad fruity tea, it’s more a generic fruity like all those other fruity teas with hibiscus in it sort of fruity tea. sense make? :) It’s not a bad tea, but it’s not really a pomegranate tea. Oh well, still decent!
Sipdown! Can’t let Terri catch up! haha
This was one of the teas my lovely tea sister sent me, that i have apparently been drinking but not recording. Oopsy.
Those who know me, know that most oolongs i can live without. I really only dislike most green ones, but even the roasty dark ones sometimes have that distinctive taste that i’m not a fan of. This one borders being delicious and being a dark oolong that i’m less a fan of. There’s a touch of astringency but not enough to be a bad thing. There’s a sweetness to this as well, though i can feel a bit of floral hanging out in the back. Overall though, it’s been a decent cuppa to drink!
sipdown! I’m pretty happy about this one, not because i don’t really like this tea, but because the teabox is on it’s second around with me and i have just finally finished the all the teas that arrived the first time it came to me. I’m not sure i can keep up the pace going forward, but i do like being able to not have things in my cupboard for eons.
This has a bit of astringency to it, but not overly so. It’s somewhere in between a malty tea and a sweet tea…a very mellow tea.
Thanks again TB!
(257…how does my dust taste so far terri? lol)
oh man i love this…except my brain thinks this is soup. not tea. thank you kittenna! really…this is super tasty delicious! It’s a savoury tea and though kittenna didn’t get much tomato, i for sure am. The black pepper adds a certain spiciness that i love. I can taste both the pepper and basil in this one. YUM! so glad i got to try this one out!
man… if blueberry cream cheese danish reblend tasted like this i’d be so much happier. theres a little bit of astringency to this, but the blueberry flavouring is pretty nice. it’s not super creamy, but it IS tasty. i added a little sugar and it made it oh so much better, cutting through the slightly astringent taste.
