this was one of my morning teas and a delightful one at that. i want to try this one gonfu before i land on any conclusion…i hope, but first impressions are that this is a rather strong, bold tea with malt notes, a nut like sort of impression and an overall generally smooth taste. Glad i got the chance to pick this one up for my birthday!

mmmm having a cup of this while hanging out on the balcony watching the rain roll in. dark gloomy clouds, bringing the fresh scent of rain to clean away the day’s dirt and mess. i adore rain..sadly ontario just doesn’t do rainstorms like alberta…the kind where you just want to run in to the middle of the street and dance in the rain…cool droplets of rain, splattering on the hot, dry sidewalks, sizzling as they hit the pavement until the rain begins to overtake the concrete jungle…pooling water, as it travels across the slate grey…searching for a way into the soil…

That description makes me wish it was raining. :)

Agreed. Excellent description.

I want it to rain in St. Louis too. We keep getting predictions for rain, & even some thunder, but sadly, no water falling from the sky. My garden is thirsty, as is my soul.

Mine too Terri – we’ve been in a drought here in Texas for years now. I have a few flowers and I water my trees and that’s it. I hope you’re feeling better.

I’m getting there. I told my folks next year I’ll bring them here for their anniversary.

I’m so jealous you get to watch the storms. I tried to go outside but TK and I were absolutely drenched in no time and she just wanted to stomp in puddles. On the road. With the cars. So I brought her back while she kicked and streamed and wistfully looked at the lightning from the basement window. :P

Aww, Cavo, that sounds adorable.

Cavo – need to find a back alley or something close heh no cars, lots of puddles.

Yeah, I do! It might be a bit of walk though – no alleys around! :P

this is another tea that i’ve had a few times and not felt like logging. Both missB and cavocorax sent me some to play with – which is fantastic because me and the doctor, we’re tight lol However, this blend? it’s rather “meh” it’s just kind of one of those generic black creamy sort of adagio teas that doesn’t excite me NEARLY as much as the doctor does. heh thanks for sharing ladies!

missb sent this one my way and i think i’m just all tired of adagio these days after my whirlwind tour of a number of their blends. Not that i’ve ever been a SUPER FAN! of adagio – middle of the road tea for a pain in the ass to canada, but there have been a few that i’ve enjoyed. this one falls on the side of enjoyed, rather than being a blechy blend. could i do with a little less cloves? certainly, but outside of that, it’s a decent enough blend that was fun to drink!

drank Peach Guava by Cornelia Bean

so i’ve had this cold brewed, hot brewed and hot brewed, cooled lol and this is the first time i’ve had a chance to log this, so thank you dexter since i’m lazy and tired… here are some highlights..

1) i prefer this cold brewed as long as you don’t mind my second point
2) this looks like someone peed in to a container when it’s in a glass one
3) this is really nicely guava flavoured – i’d love to see a guava only tea from cornelia bean!
4) the peach isn’t overpowering :)

thanks again dexter!

another cold brew of this one tonight – good for hydrating after an afternoon in the sun. I’m not burnt, but i am warm and hot…and itchy. which means too much sun for me today lol thanks for sharing this one with me dexter!

drank Strawberry Cream by RiverTea

sooooo upon careful consideration i DO prefer this hot to cold. It’s just a little creamier and more delicious as a hot brew than a cold one. I like both, but hot just a bit more. If rivertea has a sale, i’d pick this up again but with general every day pricing, there are others i’d get first :)

drank Chaud Les Marrons! by Lupicia

i have not had nearly as much tea as i wanted today, which doesn’t bode well for my sipdown goal for this month…even if i am making good progess. This was one of my afternoon choices and a good one at that since the nutty tastes was just what i wanted when we cooled off inside with air conditioning. :) Glad i restocked this in a small quantity as it’s a nice one from Lupicia!

this was another one from this afternoon – my other half and i went out to enjoy the day and pick up new tires for his bike – the old ones just weren’t working well with his new rims. I opted to splurge as well today and we went for dinner and i got to have my soup dumplings again! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiaolongbao). I’ve missed them ever since i got back from china…just sooo good with the vinegar and the fresh ginger… mmm and this tea! smokey with a hint of maple!

I’ve had those at Asian Legend. SO good

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
