4729 Tasting Notes
Another one from terri! (sipdown) I feel like i’m in the home stretch with those, though i have apparently really neglected the awesome swaps i received from fiddling and shmiracles heh opened up my swap box to pull new ones out and there were a bunch.
This is a nice middle of the road sort of roasty oolong. there’s a woody feel to this one and it leaves me mouth a little dry but over all it’s pretty tasty. I do like that it’s not overly charcoal feeling and the aroma of the leaves is pretty pleasant.
Inspired by starfevre’s posting of this, i figured i might as well try the last of my sample of this one. While it’s a nice enough cup of tea, I very much prefer other oolongs, and am finding i need to be in the mood for darker oolongs. Nice enough to try, though not enough to keep in my cupboard. (sipdown!)
mmmmm…another chai i figured i should try this morning since it’s a colder spring day today and i much prefer drinking chai when it’s cold. Let me first start off by saying that this smells like licorice. Black licorice. Which happens to be my favourite. Jelly beans? gimme the black ones! Again, i didn’t add anything to this, preferring to keep it simple and straight but i might be tempted to in future just to see what’s what. Thank you boxermama for this delightful and unique creation!
mmmmm thank you Cavocorax I was hesitant about picking this one up from Frank as i haven’t had a lot of success lately with the blends that i’ve picked up. So when Cavo offered to send some my way to try I was excited! I’ve missed my opportunity to pick this up, which is a little sad but i can safely say that this is pretty darn tasty!
I brewed this up in my usual 52 black base fashion – 2 mins, lower than boiling temperature. The tea is a nice lemoney chai. The spices aren’t too overpowering and the lemon stays present throughout the entire cup. Not that i typically add milk or honey to my chai’s – i think in the case it might make the cup even better with the addition of a little sweetness. I’ll have to try that next time!
mini sipdown! (back to 250) I finished off the last of my first bag of this so that’s progress. I still have an entire unopened bag of this from a swap with JackieT because she didn’t want it. Me on the other hand? I love this for whatever reason. It’s strawberry cream and delicious!
….and if anyone has any they want to get rid of, just hollar! :)
sipdown on this one today as well! I’m very nearly out of the teas i brought back from china – well the ones that weren’t packaged in tins or individual servings. While it makes me sad, i’m also really glad that i’ve been able to get through them and enjoy them while i’ve had them…as well as share with others!
SIPDOWN! Man i really need to make sure i’m doing my one a day, so here’s to hopefully 1 of 2 or 3 tonight to make up for earlier this week :) not to mention the tea that arrived from cavo that bumped my numbers up.
I have enjoyed this one a bunch because it not only has a fun fruity flavour, but you can still taste the tea base underneath it all. I very much hate it when you might as well be drinking juice for all that the flavours hide the tea…especially with pu-erh. Thank you again kallieboo! for this one!
