7739 Tasting Notes
Tea from my tea sister Terri. What intrigued me most about this, is that there are 3 different sets of instructions on the package depending on what you’re going for:
-195 1 tsp 4oz for sweet, floral, silky texture
-205 for robust maltiness 4oz per tsp
-6-8oz of water if you want a blod pick me up, similar to a darjeeling.
Since i have a little to play with, i went with 4oz, 195 degrees, 1.5mins. This is slightly sweet, but i wouldn’t say floral with a hint of maltiness coming through. it reminds me a little of a ceylon brewed this way. interesting.
These are not mandala’s infamous pearls…but these are pretty decent. terri sent these my way to try and they’re not half bad. Sort of an average cup, so nothing i feel the need to desperately seek out, but something id have no problems revisiting again with a purchase. smooth body, little bit of malt, some earthiness to it that some people might not like.
steepster eats notes and ratings for breakfast. I know i’ve had this one before. Terri sent me some more (maybe a different year) and this is pretty tasty. not sure it’s worth the extra money for this version over my regular LB, but it’s still tasty and i rather enjoyed it. Familiar LB notes in here : malt, dark rich chocolate and maybe a hint of cherry like something?
