Had this in the morning at the office while we listened to the wind storm past the windows. I’m not sure if there’s a sanstorm brewing over here, but this is the loudest i’ve ever heard wind blow in an office building. It’s pretty crazy actually, as the windows are shaking, making creaking noises etc..

If nice to have this tea to sip while the craziness happens in the back ground.

omg can i go home now? If i get no more time in china to explore, i’m about done with work lol. I’m tired of being up past 10pm working…tired of trying to do someone else’s job… heh

sorry…long day full of long “politic-ing” have made for a grumpy over tired Sil. Add to the fact that i need to get some work done and i’m having issues with my remote access to work…yeah. tea needs to kick in with it’s happy vibes right about now lol

Also had a cup of this earlier today. I’m finding that taking this to sip on at work in the morning has been helpful.

Home stretch baby! 2 more days until Airport Day!

This morning seems so long ago. I had this before heading to the office. A lot of crap is coming up in the last few days of me being here so i am NOT a happy camper. It looks like i probably wont get a chance to get out and see/explore any more of beijing at this rate. :( At least this was a tasty treat to have this morning to jump start my day. Bold tea with a bit of caramel goodness.

Few cups of this while i try to get some work done before bed. Had a great night out with the team tonight but i needed something to soothe the craziness going on in my brain. Home stretch over the next day or so and there’s still alot of work to be done. I forsee a good number of late nights still to come.

I’m glad i made the decision to bring a large quantity of this tea as my go to tea. May not have helped with my sipdowns but i needed at least one comfort from home.

Here’s hoping this is restocked soon since i know of a few people itching to get their hands on some more. I thankfully still have a bit left to tie me over until it’s back up on the site. Though i did bring a bunch with me on this trip so that i could work through part of my bag. Not because i want to get rid of it, but because i’m trying to get better at drinking my tea down once it’s opened instead of letting it sit there for a few weeks? months? between tastings

you know you were all desperate to see another tea log on this tea. By the way, i am totally snagging the extra bag they give me in the morning to foist onto random people. That’s right, I’m thiefing (yes i spelled it that way on purpose) tea!

This morning this was a whole lot of yellow flavoured water. I think i’m developing an immunity to this tea, or because i’ve managed to drink my other teas – it’s just not working for me in the morning. I might need to swtich over to twinnings. Thankfully i usually have time in the morning to also make some laoshan black. Just took me a week to get the timing down to have enough time lol

Soooo after getting all fired up after the MOST USELESS MEETING ON THE PLANET!!!! I’m having a cup of this. Let me tell you, nothing shows the world you’re an idiot like calling a meeting to discuss something that’s already been decided – because you have options to present… uh. ok? never mind that we asked them to clarify 3 times before the meeting on what the meeting was about. Turns out…they should have just told us they needed us to tell them that we’d already gotten sign off about the thing they’re unclear about. Confused yet? yeah. so were we.

Long story short…1 hour meeting to decide that we’re going to go ahead with what we were already doing. yeah. ok then. thanks for coming out morons.

phew! the irate canuck in me is showing. you wouldn’t like me when i’m angry!!!!HULK SMASH! yeah ok… crazy girl needs to curl up with more tea apparently. and then sleep. seriously, having to stay up for that BS just has me all crazy. bah! gah! grrrrrr

good thing this tea is all minty happy dance in my mouth. also…it tastes SUPER awesome if you let a coke bottle melt in your mouth with the tea. yeah. i did that. :)

Soooo..let’s talk about stress..and pms and being in a foreign country when over tired and reacting to the pollution. It’s called, dinner is made up of some chips, a cheese bagel and z-up followed by chocolate and sugar donut and yes..this tea. And a bath. And god damnit that’s what’s what.

lol But let me tell you…nothing in this world is better than that donut and chocolate and tea when you’re enjoying it. I’ll pay for it later i’m sure but tonight i needed anything but noodles or rice or beef or lamb or fried anything. Also it doesn’t help that i had a bunch of work to do tonight before my evening call with toronto. So i didn’t really have a chance to go to a sit down restaurant.

And this tea? While not something i drink often in toronto, was just what the doctor ordered tonight. Maybe it bonded with the water better than back home but it was just a creamy delicious cup of toffee and dark brood-y tea. So good.

oh man i needed this to help me wake up. I’ve already had 3 cups of this and i’m working on my 4th at the office. I think it’s fantastic that the hotel gives me “to go” cups in the room that i can use to bring my tea from the hotel to the office. especially since there are no kitchen facilities here. Pretty much no one brings a lunch – you have to eat out.

oh man…back to work. I needed something stronger than this to get me going after last nights festivities and the resulting amount of time it took me to get to sleep. Had a pot of this for breakfast and then went back to my room to make several cups of a stronger tea. I should just start bringing my other tea down to breakfast and asking them to make a post for me. :) See previous tasting notes. this is an adequate bagged green. it’ll do in a pinch

Best. night. evar. No really. tonight i think wins the prize for the best evening out here in beijing. One of the women who is also in to the city for the work we’re doing here, had a friend come pick us up so that we could go out. Tonight is the last night of Chinese New Year, so we went out to some pedestrian areas by the water. There was laughing, good food, fire crackers and fire works…music. lots of fun!

I’m having a cup of this before bed, though I’m not sure how much sleep i’ll get given that the fireworks are non stop tonight because it’s the last day. Hard to believe the weekend is over and it’s back to work in a few hours. ugh. At least the tea is helping me to relax and de-stress before bed.

Had a cup of this in the afternoon while waiting on people to arrive to pick us up. Talk about a cup of cinnamon hearts. I don’t mind this tea, though I can’t say that I’d want to drink this often. It’s more of a special occasion, I’m craving cinnamon hearts kinda of tea :)

Pretty sure I ruined this cup by over steeping it. It was barely drinkable and since I’ve had it before with no issue, I’m sure I just did something foolish. Fnished up with testing thing for work so I might get out a little this afternoon…won’t be much but better than nothing!

I guess i really should rate this tea. Overall, it’s not a bad little tea, but it’s not great. It’s about what i’d expect from a bagged tea. Another pot of this today. I need as much as i can get in terms of liquid so i’m happy to down a pot of this every morning after my bottle of water and in addition to the juice i also have. Late start to the day but it’s hard to get excited about getting up and going, when you just have work to look forward to on a saunday blech. At least i have a bit of my tea from home to keep me company in the room.

One of two caffeine free teas I thought to bring to china with me. I’m glad for the variety though I likely could have brought a few more since even though caffeine doesn’t usually affect me, I really don’t want to risk it when I’ve got such long days. Had this tonight while catching up on a few things from work after a day of exploring today. As much as it pains me to say it, actually had my first “north American” thing today in the form of Starbucks. Lol. Tracy had to pee desperately but didn’t
Want to use the public washrooms or eat lunch. So I suggested that if anywhere was going to have clean-er bathrooms it would be starbucks since they have to adhere to NA standards. She thought I was crazy….I was right though :p

Simple things to chuckle at.

Having a cup of this tonight while i wait to get on a call with canada. It seems i can’t win no matter which country i’m in, i always have to take the evening calls lol. The only upside to this is that i’m getting more work done (after meeting with the bosses, i have a crazy number of things to help china with). Also, my colleague and i have our day tomorrow planned out, though it sucks that her idea of sleeping in, is to have breakfast at 8:00…sigh oh well…at the very least i know i’ll get to see some things since it appears my sunday may be fully taken up with work :(

However on the scary upside? downside? i’m not too sure yet? there is talk of China seconding me… which basically means i stop my day job and come here to do the job they want me to do here…for however long that might take. O.o yeah i’ll get back to you on how i feel about that heh.

Backlog from this morning as well…

Today was recap day and meet with the “bosses” to update them on our progress this week so it was a long one. I’m pretty happy i had my teas to jump start me this morning. I opted to bring this one over to the office in a travel mug since i have just enough time between breakfast and running back up to the room to brush my teeth, to make tea. I’m happy that i brought a bunch of this one with me, though i’m guessing the tin i put it in isn’t as air tight as i thought it was since it’s gradually becoming less and less flavourful in terms of the aroma of the dry tea. Not a huge deal since it still tastes wonderful, but something to note.

wheee! backlog from this morning and it was pretty darn tasty for a bagged tea today. Not sure if they put something in the water here or what today but it was a good morning. I have been finding however, that the tea that i brought with me, totally tastes different than when back home. I’m sure there’s some scientific reason like altitude or some such nonesense but i’m so tired i could hardly care. It’s green..it’s average…it’s here in china!

One more day….until the weekend that is. Having a nice cup of this while i finish up some work for tomorrow’s sessions. This is the last of what i brought to china of this tea but i’ve got a bunch left from my home stash – to the point of feeling bad that i haven’t had more time to enjoy a nice cup in the evening. We’re trying to plan a few things for saturday since i may have to spend all of sunday working. So maybe no great wall of china for me this trip. Maybe i’ll get lucky and be able to come back and have some time off afterwards. if not, i still can’t complain since i’ve had a great time here so far with what limited time i’ve had. Since it was a work trip, i’m happy for whatever i manage to do.

i needed this cup tonight…tempted to have another but i thinkit might get cold or i might crash before i get around to drinking it. :) It was a good thursday.

I feel like i should just log this 14 times for every day that i’m here in China :) I’ve switched to this as my morning tea and apparently i’ve been too buy to really get to drinking my tea in the evening which sucks a lot. Some mornings i get a quick cup while i’m getting ready to go down for breakfast but it’s not happening a lot.

In any case… from the china files for yesterday (or your today, since it’s tomorrow here..haha hello this is the future calling..) anyway..omg i’m a little crazy. Yesterday i got to go to a supermarket that’s in the basement of the high end mall across the street from the hotel. It was amaazing! Pretty much kind of like those giant target grocery stores in the US. and then outside of the supermarket was even more shops. We had a blast and now i have a list of parisienne teas to check oon prices and reviews before i buy them lol

So I wish i could do a comparison of this one and florence side by side, but since i only have this tea with me here – too bad so sad. This is a really nicely done chocolate tea. I have a tagalong thingy with me from winning the H&S contest on FB. I figured the sachets might do well for the travelling thing. In any case..starting to fade. Good night all…

P.S What i learned in china today. never let two men order your dinner…you’ll end up with too much food that’s nearly entirely meat. Also…deep friend whole fish? Not my thing even if it tasted good…they kept staring at me, with their mouths agape…yep. not for me lol

Evening tea! So tired from today’s events at work that I figured this might be a nice night cap with my giant bath. Nothing says relaxing time like a giant tub full of hot water and some tea….well wine might disagree but since they had me indulge in the local alcohol tonight, I figured tea was better.
