Sipdown! Terri sent this my way and i figured today was a good day to try this one. I need a little kick to my afternoon. Sadly, the ginger in this one isn’t present enough. It does build while you drink this, which is nice but i miss the ginger from the first sips. I’d also like this to be slightly less smokey. I think that would balance the ginger a little better. It just means that i might need to try and blend my own sometime in the future :) I did like this though, so thanks for sharing terri!
I had some more of this since the BBB Box has arrived and I am sadly behind in finishing up the other teas from the last round. I’ve had a very productive day so far today – organised some tea that needs to go out, cleaned up my tea cupboard, cleaned the bathroom, backed up my shows and for the past hour or so, i’ve been working on my photo book for 2012. Ian and I made a promise to keep up with doing a photobook every year to capture some of our favourite memories. They aren’t big books – typically about 30 pages or so, but they are time consuming. We recently had our 2011 book delivered so i’d like to get 2012 and 2013 done this weekend (well 2013 done to this point anyway). We use Picaboo, and though they don’t always get things right on the first go, they now have free shipping, and this weekend FB friends get 50% off.
I ended up letting this tea cool a bit much for my liking, but i am still enjoying it cold. Thanks again for this one Tastybrew!
sipdown! I don’t know how to explain this one. It reminds me of wild mountain black without that juiciness that it has. I have enjoyed this one quite a bit. It is not a smokey keemun, which are generally my favourite but this was a really nice black. The last little bit of this is headed to one of my tea friends to try :) Thanks again for this great one alice!
My matcha was composed of the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
I have a soft spot for the pineapple flavour in life savers. It might be my favourite. Even if it’s not quite actual pineapple taste (which i LOVE), those life savers are my happy place. When i cracked open this matcha – it was like smelling an entire package of those delicious life savers. I was in my happy place. Now, I’ve shared this matcha with a few people but i haven’t yet gotten around to reviewing it. Today, i figured why the heck not!
I opted to drink this as a latte even if some part of me was a little wary about milk + pineapple. Honestly? SOOOOO Good! I think the distinctive level is the right way to go for this one, or possibly delicate. Robust would make this a little too artificial i think.
The milk actually helps to smooth out the edge of the pineapple. Each sip is like the first instant you put a life saver into your mouth. Before i knew it, i had finished up my double mug of this! Even after it was gone, i could taste it, lingering…the best part? the after taste is more like actual pineapple. I think this will likely be a reorder!
