6833 Tasting Notes
nope. not even sort of. thanks cavocorax, but i’m pretty sure i dislike the “chocolate” that RiverTea uses. thankfully that crosses off a bunch of teas of theirs for me that i now don’t need to try. this is just.. not a happy place for me. it’s not even artificially cherry..it’s just. wrong. i’d rather drink perfect carlos, and that was a pretty averagely adagio blend.
thank you cavo! This is not a tea for me. Sadly, this is one where the black adagio base is coming through strongly and the only other flavour i get in this one is almond. I know there were chocolate chips in here and such but really..it’s just a cup of "meh"lightly flavoured almond water with that adagio base.
(but now i’m SO caught up to variaTEA hahahaha!)
mmmm thanks for sending this my way cavo! I was happy to have another cup of this to sample, solidifying that i do really like this. I’ve been quite happy with a lot of the RiverTeas, that I’ve tried, though i’m coming to understand that their herbals/fruit blends are my happy place followed, funnily enough by their fruity greens/whites. their black teas don’t seem to cut if for me…at least not the flavoured ones. I have a few more straight black from them to try still before i finalise my verdict on those :)
thanks for sending this my way Cavocorax I’m not sure that this is what ngihts in toronto should taste like but it’s a fun enough tea. Sadly, it’s the orange in this that makes me like it less. i love the almond flavouring and the way it blends in with the base, but when the orange hits my tongue it’s jarring..and seems largely out of place in the smoothness of the rest of the cup. Still, it’s not bad but the orange just doesn’t fit for me
thanks terri! I’m not sure what to make of this one. I like it, but on the other hand it’s a little weak for me. I had a few steepings of this and it never developed into something i REALLY wanted. That being said, I’m glad to try it since i’m really enjoying the Yunnan sourcing journey that terri is taking me on! thanks sister!
thanks for sharing more of this with me Cavo! I’m still undecided as to whether i need this in my cupboard full time. it’s a lovely black tea that isn’t bitter, has a bit of a sweet note to it depending on how long you steep it and overall i really like drinking it. I also really like what the company is trying to do. On the other hand, there are a large number of blacks that i prefer over this one simply because i have had a great many types of black teas haha. I think, this will be a rotation in to my cupboard from time to time though, because i’d really like to continue supporting the work the company is doing. :)
mmm thanks cavocorax! I am a fan of this blend. It’s not an over the top must have in my cupboard sort of tea, but it IS a tasty cup of spices. Somehow everything in this just works together to make a nice cup of delicious. My only complaint, as always is the base that tends to be used in adagio’s blends. It’s just not my favourite, though in this case it doesn’t makes things worse :) Thanks for sharing cavo! (also i love the design for this one..)
