5930 Tasting Notes
Since i’m trying to get through my verdant reserve teas, I knew i had to open this one to try it finally. I’ve been holding off because LB is one of my favourite teas and i wanted to have this to savor. Turns out? This tastes very similar to my memory of LB. I may have to do a comparison in the near future, because i don’t see them as being much different. Still delicious to drink but nothing incredible or over the top.
I had this one tonight – we went out to visit friends who had a baby about a month ago. He is adorable! I have pretty much not accomplished any sipdowns this weekend, which is a sad, sad, thing since i know i’ll be picking up a couple teas at winners/holt’s tomorrow simply because the opportunity to pick up french teas are far and few between here in canada. While that means an increase in cupboard size, i’ve been pretty good about not buying teas recently. I still love this tea, and i’m sure that once it’s gone, i’ll find some way of restocking it :)
This is from the last trip of the BBB Box between myself, Terri and Tastybrew. Since the next round is on it’s way i need to get cracking on drinking the tea from that other round! I could swear that i’ve had this before but either i’m imagining things or steepster ate my note.
this is a really nice brew. I think i’d like to try this gaiwan style. It’s a little weak than what i like, but the notes in this are really interesting. Similar to what terri mentioned, there’s a bit of a peppery taste, but not to the point of being spicy/hot. Looking forward to drinking more of this!
i had this one to end the evening yesterday. My other half and i went for a walk in the evening, and had dinner out while trying to get a start on talking about this whole wedding thing. I think there’s likely a part of me that does really want a whole wedding/reception etc, but given that we would really like to buy a house in the near-ish future, have kids etc… it’ll likely be a small ceremony at city hall or something and then just a party, no dinner. we can do it all over again in 10 years or something with a big shebang haha
I seriously can’t believe that i haven’t logged (and probably also tried) this yet. This.is. delicious. But only if i add my typical maple syrup that i love adding to smokier teas. It’s a little too much smoke for me without it, but all i really want to do with this one is cook with it now. My other half and i have a number of recipes that we’ve made for smokey tea cooking and this would be perfect for a couple of them. Glad i opted to try and get through my reserve teas this weekend!
thank you Alice This was one of the teas that Alice sent my way in our swap. I opted to try this one first out of the bunch she sent me because it was a nice small sample – i suspect this is how T2 sends samples with their orders. I’ve also never had wattleseed ever.
I really like this Alice! It’s an interesting blend that reminds me almost of waffles, though i’m not entirely sure if that’s because wattle and waffle look similar or it’s from the cinnamon and wattle seed. There’s a baked good sort of quality about this while still holding on to it’s black tea base. It’s not baked good like brioche for example..it’s that hint of bread like goodness. Overall quite pleased with this one! thanks alice!
