5079 Tasting Notes
backlog from yesterday
I took this with me out to visit with friends. i wanted something that would travel well and these ambessa teas seem to do well in the travel mugs. I think this tea is more of a safety net – toss a few sachets in my purse or something for when i’m on the road. I wouldn’t necessarily buy this in loose form as I think there are better. if that makes sense? It’s still a tea that i enjoy but it’s partially for the convenience factor heh.
sipdown! (196) i tried this today a couple ways…mostly because the first sip i took went something like:
“oh look yummy tea”
yeah…no. not sure if i was just way over brewing it or missing something but no. no. no. Makes me sad because i feel like i SHOULD like this. but i can’t get behind it.
thank you nxtdoor! I’m finally getting some time to sit and try a few of the teas that nxtdoor sent my way before i ran away on vacation. I’m pretty sure this is one of the first teas i’ve tried from fusion teas unless there’s 1 or 2 that may have come my way via swaps that i just don’t recall.
I actually enjoy this one a bunch. I wish the ginger was a little more in your face, but it does blend nicely with the peach to take away some of that cloying sweetness that a lot of black peach teas have. I’m not a huge fan of the GIANT chunks of everything else going on in this – would like to see a little more “tea.” but overall it’s pretty tasty. I might cold brew this just to see how that works.
working from home today which hopefully will allow me to try some of the last few unlogged teas in my cupboard. Why am i doing this? so that i can send the other half of my samples off to terri! Not to mention getting a few steps closer to 150. Drinking this one puts me at 198. What am i drinking? Another tea from the verdant reserve samples from rewards – this one is a haixin tang 2007 stone-pressed sheng. Since i have no clue what i’m doing with this – lack of directions is my only annoyance with verdant’s teas, i’m trying to do a few steeps of this at random intervals. heh. I’m sure terri will do a much better job of this for me. This smells earth and delicious, though that may just be a factor of the tea mixing with the rain that we have happening here in toronto :)
this has got an earthy, slightly smoky? taste to it. It will be interesting to see how the steepings change this morning in between some other teas i want to try heh.
Subsequent resteeps of this = pretty decent puerh and not so bad for what i think? is my first sheng? maybe? lol what can i say? i’m at the start of my puerh journey :)
Backlog from yesterday….didn’t really get around to drinking too much tea. I was late for work and then when I got home, friends were over which, for these friends, means burgers and beer as they like to put it. So instead of tea there were delicious toasted caramel whiskey shakes and other such concoctions :)
I had this as a cold brew to end the night and it was deliciously yummy and refreshing. Thanks again kitty!
i tried this one this morning as well but i remember nothing about it besides the fact that i drank it, there was nothing wrong with it and it was gone early in the morning. that leads me to believe that this might be a decent one from steap shoppe. lol i’ll try and write a better note the next time i have this.
anyone want my job? it pays well..and the people i work with are great…
I’ve been home for about 20 mins…which coincidentally is 12 hours after i arrived at work this morning. And i have a call at 9pm with china to discuss some things for a project, and then tomorrow i’ve got to back up someone else on the team with their project in the evening. I’m thinking…working from home on friday!
I pulled this one out this morning to have since it’s been a little while and it’s still as good as ever. As far as strawberry black teas go, though is one of my favourites.
