4673 Tasting Notes
I had this again tonight in an effort to start getting through a few of my never ending sample sizes. I’m trying to pick a few here and there that are herbals teas, not because caffeine affects me, but so that i can find options for friends who are affected by caffeine. The last of this is also going in a cold brew for me to try tomorrow :)
Sipdown! Thanks to gracebtlb for this share. Super excited to try the new teas she sent me! I opted to try a giant mug of this one because I want to save the puerh for when I can really sit and focus and enjoy them. Now, as most know I’m not a fan of adagio teas but they’re not terrible. Apparently I have a thin about almond teas as well, since this one also came across as almond extract to me. It’s similar to Stacy’s almond cookie tea but with the adagio black base (which isn’t nearly as nice, and is much finickier). However, all that being said, this isn’t a terrible tea. The almond is there in the flavouring and the black base helps to keep it from being overly cloyingly sweet.
Thanks so much for sharing this with me gracebtlb!
I received this in the mail today from lala as a surprise sample and knew i had to try it right away. I am generally not a fan of coconut, but i loooooveeeee mango. Since i’m under the weather today, the simplicity of a tea bag appealed to me a lot. Opening the package i was blown away by the coconut, which kind of scared me. But then, the mango creeped out. It smelled like fresh juicy delicious mango! I brewed this one up at a green eta temperature rather than the recommended black from the instructions.
Seriously? This is really good for a bagged, COCONUT, tea no less. Looks like others haven’t had nearly the luck that i did with this one but man i really like this. It would for sure be one that i could tuck in my drawer at work for those days when you just need a quick bag of tea.
Thanks so much for this surprise sample lala!
mini sipdown, in that i finished the first 50g bag of this that i picked up, so i’m not officially on the last bag. I think that if david’s ever discontinues this, i’d be inclined to pick more up…though that being said, i likely wouldn’t know about it until after the fact lol. I like the tanginess of this tea. I probably should stick to cold brewing this, since they’s why i picked it up but today i just really wanted that lime flavour.
Had some of this in the afternoon. I’m apparently sick – yesterday and today i’ve just been sleeping or lying in the bed a lot. I haven’t had nearly enough tea in my opinion but i wanted something a little different. I like this much better than the first time i had it. Maybe it’s because i steeped it for less time. I don’t really get chocolate out of this, but i do get mint and marshmallow, which is enough for me today. over all not a bad cup today.
I had another cup of this one since i’m very nearly through this small bag I purchased. There are new Stacy teas on the way though so I can’t complain :) I really like how dark and roasty this oolong is. It reminds me of coffee but not because it tastes like coffee. It’s just that is had that deep, rich, textured taste to it that really nice coffees have when you drink them black. Really happy i tried this one when i did. Still really digging it and loving the resteeps that change it as i drink it.
