I cannot figure out how to hot brew this tea. I think it’s the raspberry leaf that’s just not working for me. I’ve tried a couple times now and have apparently forgotten to log them. Overall, i’ll take this cold brewed over hot anyway but in the grand scheme of things it’s just not a tea for me. thanks to hallieod for sending this my way! (sipdown)

I can’t quite figure this tea out. It’s a really nice blend – fruity and slightly creamy but it’s not exactly strawberry :) It’s more of a pineapple, type black that’s not exactly pineapple either. just that sweetness that comes from pineapple. At the tail end of the sip there is almost a hint of strawberry cream but then it slides away.

SIPDOWN! (bringing me to 255 and still a few more hours of tea drinking left in the day…..i can do this! lol) I’m not sure i agree with the steeping instructions on this one. 3 mins leaves a pretty astringent brew. I’m thinking 2 mins might be a better spot…and this is for sure a milk kind of tea. oh well…it IS a pretty tea lol Mostly i just wanted to drink this since it’s another one of those darjeelings i have kicking around in my cupboard. Still not a win for me…

sipdown! thanks hallieod this is a decent brew though it’s not quite up my alley. The white tea blends nicely with the flavours but it’s a bit too floral for me as well as being a really light tea. :)

Hallieod

Yeah, don’t think I’d quite got your response to floral teas before including this one in the package. :)

Sil

naw it’s all good! i like trying new teas. :)

mmm another one from terri’s tea box! I will get through these someday lol! I’m actually pretty proud of myself…i think i’m down to the last 10 or so of the 70+ she sent.

This is a pretty decent green tea. The flavouring is really subtle but it adds to the green instead of overwhelming or taking away from it. I can get behind this one for sure :) thanks terri!

Kittenna was nice enough to share of her aging tea with me lol and this still tastes as enjoyable as when i first tried it. Had a cup of this to mix things up with the greens and blacks i’m having today. Hard to believe it’s only 12:30! woot!

sipdown! kittylovestea was kind enough to send me some of this, even though i was fairly sure this wouldn’t be a tea for me. While i can understand how some would find this tea to be a pleasure to drink, it is not the tea for me. Ah well! another to cross off my list. Thanks kitty!

sipdown! meh. this tea should be better. it smells delicious but the taste is lacking in my opinion. it’s like a watered down chocolate o or something to that effect. it’s not BAD..but it’s not delicious and wonderful and probably never needs to be restocked. But that’s ok because i’ve tried it, and i’ve got others from della that i like. There just happen to be better chocolatey teas out there. :)

Fjellrev

I feel exactly the same way about it. :)

oh man…i didn’t realise that this had chocolate notes in it when i opted to brew it up. This is another one from terri’s swap with me and i have to say it’s pretty delicious. I don’t taste much puerh to this but that’s not a bad thing. It just means that this falls into the flavoured category more than the straight black :) This is a win in my books!

Terri HarpLady

I think this tea was my first ‘intro’ to Shu, but I agree, there isn’t much in there. Even though this one is flavored, it’s nicely bold, so I keep it in my breakfast rotation.

Sil

i like chocolate for breakfast lol

sipdown! Another one of terri’s teas! I think i’m beginning to discover that i’m not as much a fan of darjeelings as i used to be. There’s a flavour in a lot of darjeelings that tends to not agree with me. I’m not entirely sure what it is. This isn’t a bad tea but there are others i like better. Maybe i need to have a darjeeling journey to figure things out :)

Terri HarpLady

I’ve been drinking some Darjeeling here & there, & although I can appreciate a cup, I’d much rather drink an Assam or yunnan. Regardless, I seem to be compiling a small collection of darjs, & I’ve been thinking the same thing.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
