sipdown! (169) not too shabby for being sick, not concentrating on sipdowns and having awesome tea friends make my cupboard explode on the day before the end of the year. lol 30 more days to see if i can get down at 150 just for fun!

This was another tea from the lovely missB I’m not a huge fan of eggnog – something about the texture makes me NOT want anything to do with it. But i DO like creamy, delicious vanilla type flavours – which this most certainly is. I haven’t had eggnog in years, so i have no clue how close to eggnog taste this is…but it’s what i want eggnog to be like – creamy and delicious with no funny weird textures :) thanks for sending this my way missB! I quite like it, and it’s not necessarily something i’d have picked myself :)

Edit: i Started the year having tried 1398 teas since i joined steepster…total as of the end of today 6 new ones! (1404) Let’s see if i can make it another few hundred by 2015 haha

Preparation
Boiling 6 min, 0 sec
Lala

OK so when I read this I thought you were saying you had 1398 teas is your cupboard. Ha ha. You’re doing good if you down to 169 now. Ha ha.

MissB

Oh gosh. See, this is why I ask if you have dislikes, so I can avoid that kinda stuff. Although… it seems this was a good choice after all! :)

Sil

No way missB! I like trying things…..even if I don’t like something ill still try it. Eggnog I don’t like because of he the texture…the flavour has always been something I could get behind.

Sil

Also lala….if my cupboard was that big I’d have a heart attack….300+ was too much for me haha

Terri HarpLady

Yay for trying so many teas!!! Go girl!
I’m in the process of re-organizing my stash. Once I get it all in order, I’ll do a count. I’m guessing 300+, hahaha

TheTeaFairy

You all make me want to reorganize my stash…My steepster cupboard is so not up to date! I lost control about a year ago when I went over the 300 mark. (Terri I do sympathize!) then, after getting rid of more than half of it (gifts and gifts and more gifts and not ordering for 6 months) made it a lot more manageable. But after a slip through black friday, I feel a little out of control again :-0

Sil

I force myself to keep it organised at least in terms of steepster having the teas that are in my cupboard. It’s a fast way to see if my numbers are creeping up and makes sure i know whats there if i forget something

nice cup of warmth and comfort for a few episodes of fringe before we tuck ourselves in to bed early. being sick is the suck but tea makes everything a little better. :)

Terri HarpLady

Sorry to hear you’re still sick!
Sending good vibes your way, sister.

Feel better soon!

Latte of this one has been great to sip on while watching fringe and enjoying our pulled pork that has been slow cooking all day. Mmmmmmmmmm so good!

drank White Ginger Pear by Tea Forte

sipdown! this was from a sampler a while back and i finally got round to trying this last one. Sadly i was hoping for more from these little packages. I think i’m better off sticking to tea that isn’t “designed for cold brewing”. Oh well, it was a great intro to some of tea fortes teas. This one is white and ginger…but not really pear. Instead there’s a weird taste to it that i’m not a fan of.

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more
OMGsrsly

These are “designed for cold brewing”? As in, plunking them in the fridge with cold water? Huh. I’ll have to try that.

Sil

i mispoke.. i meant they’re designed to be iced teas… you still boil water, steep and then pour over ice or whatever.

OMGsrsly

Ahh, tea terminology. :)

nom nom nom nom nom drinking tea while playing board games and being sick. My other half is willing to join me in a year of taking 1 picture a day of something that makes us smile/we’re grateful for/we appreciate etc… so here’s to trying to keep that up for a whole year :) Anyway, this tea? love it. so glad i picked up 100g of it…though it’s going fast!

Cavocorax

Oh that’s an awesome challenge!
Are you trying to do it for the entire year? I just all of a sudden feel like maybe I should do that again because when I did it made me go outside and do things – otherwise it’s 365 pics of cat/baby. :P

I think the last time I did I made it to 100 days (not just things that made me happy, but just… pics?) and the best one was on my last day of chemo – so close to freedom!

Anna

Sounds like a great project! Also nom nom Fleurilège.

Cavocorax

Oh – just read your post – you are doing the whole year! Yay!
I like that it’s things you like appreciate etc. Seems like there’s less pressure that way to making sure the picture is artistic etc, while still letting you have some freedom to experiment if you want to.

Sil

yeah…day one picture – the crockpot making pulled pork for tonight’s meal lol Ian’s picture – helen. hahaha

Cavocorax

Hahah. That’s awesome.

Nicole

that’s a neat idea for a project!

keychange

What a lovely idea.

caile

Gosh, that’s such a great plan!

sipdown on this one as well, though i’m sad to see it go. The rest is off to Terri so that she can try this! I quite enjoyed this, though i think unlike others i don’t have a dying need to see this one around as a permanent blend. I’m happy to have tasted it and experienced it but Stacy has so many others i love more :)

Cavocorax

This one was (for me) the best of the trio, which might be way people made more of a fuss about it.

mmmmm had a few cups of this one this afternoon to have a tea that i was familiar with. I have zero desire to go in to work tomorrow so i may just ride out the rest of the week, working from home haha. I still love this tea and i’m glad i have a bunch of it to drink and share with friends!

nothing to say about this one really…tried again with it and it still isn’t any sort of yummy for me. I don’t much like yabao and after a few cups of trying this out under various conditions it’s still nothing i’m enjoying. the last little bit of mine is off to terri to see if she can pull some delight out of this one.

MissLena

I mostly get yabao out of it too, which is okay as I like it, but haven’t found the sweet spot yet either, I’ll try with my filtered filtered water this week I think

MissLena

*filtered ugh not supposed to be there twice lol silly phone

Sil

haha

sad sad tea. Thanks for sending this my way missb! I was excited about trying this one out because not only did it smell amazing in the bad but there were little caramel droppings in it. However…brewing this has left me with a cup of artificial tasting slightly tart weird tasting tea. it’s pretty gross lol. I’m going to pass on drinking more than the couple sips of this one and chalk it up to not the tea for me. too bad since i’d had high hopes for this one. heh thanks missB!

Fjellrev

Tsk tsk, Darlene. What were you thinking.

JustJames

could be worse…. could have been caramelized cough syrup. i had a cherry something blend from teavana in the summer which was robitussin all the way.

MissB

I’ve yet to try this. My daughter’s friend loves this stuff, and I’ve had barely passable feelings about this company’s tea in general. You said you wanted to try new stuff… :P

Sil

Yep! No complaints here with new things :)

sipdown! (174) I apparently felt like a few of missB’s samples today :) I love a good scottish caramel toffee puerh. I have no idea if the few that i’ve tried all ultimately come from the same source but i will never say no to this particular tea. there’s something delicious about the earthiness of the puerh mixing with the caramel that leaves me happy. It’s not sweet but it’s delicious! Happy to have tried another variation on this one!

Anna

This sounds gooood.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
