sipdown! (129) Yeah, that’s right dinosara! we can pretend i’ll catch up to you haha. I saved the last little bit of this so that i could try it as a latte. I likely have had too much caffeine tonight but i’m having fun and testing, as usual, has been extended so my day has pretty much been: sit around, drink tea, package tea up for friends, watch tv, test.
i’ve got some errands tomorrow and i want to bake, so i imagine i’ll be drinking less tomorrow. This is quite nice as a latte, but still nothing to write home about. It’s like it can’t decide if it wants to me chocolatey or almond-y and can’t find the middle ground haha. However milk>water for this one imo :)
My matcha was composed of the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
I ordered this flavour on a whim. I like macademia nuts, and i love praline flavours…so i figured what the heck. Red Leaf has been good to us and I also wanted to try some of the flavours that didn’t seem to pop up as much.
Opening this, there’s a strong macadamia nut flavour, with faint undertones of a bit of a chemical smell. I opted to drink this as a latte simply to add some creaminess to the taste. Matcha lattes with redleaf are my favourite! i rarely drink them straight unless it’s just to see if the flavours taste better because i haven’t liked it as a latte flavour.
Final verdict on this? It tastes like the nut, but it’s missing the caramel praline flavour that would be perfect with this taste! There’s no bitterness to this but i REALLY was hoping for a different flavour to come off. I almost felt like i could have just been drinking the macadamia nut matcha that red leaf also has. After i added a bit of sugar to this, it helped a little bit to draw the flavour out a little more, but i’m not a fan of having to add sweetner to my teas and matcha. Overall not bad, but there are others i like WAY more!
sipdown! haha I realised while going through some of my teas this afternoon that i only had a sachet left of this so i figured what the hell! Again, this smells so much more amazing than it tastes. I’m not a fan of bergamot and it’s not super strong in this but it ruins the caramel trying to come through in this. I just want this to BE BETTER lol or at least be like it smells. POO! anyway still drinkable but there are others i’d rather have!
sample sipdown! (134) Thanks again nicole
I feel bad that this is the first review of the tea because it is NOT the tea for me. Something about the blend of flavours in this one left me with a mouthful of floral, fruity no thanks heh. It’s a bit sad because i love passionfruit and thought this one would be one that i’d really like…sadly no. However, i’m glad i tried it since i likely would have purchased this one to try when i order from this company. so yay! thanks as always nicole
sipdown! but i apparently didn’t add this to the cupboard so it doesn’t really count haha. Another tea from nicole I’m learning to apprecaite dajeelings a little more. I still won’t pick one up over a good black or puerh per say, but i for sure like them more than i used to. This one has a touch of stringency to it but in a way that reminds me of some green teas that i’ve had. It’s got lots of fruity notes to it…similar to peach but not quite. Overall an enjoyable cup! Thanks again Nicole!
