6481 Tasting Notes
sipdown! the last of this is packaged and going out to MissB as a thank you for all the awesome things she sent our way while travelling. While not my favourite of the stacy creations, it was tasty and i ADORE white rhino so that made it generally yummy for me regardless of whether the flavouring was having a good day or a bad for me lol
Thank you Wymm tea for the sample of this tea! I was interested in this one not only because i missed out on Crimson Lotus’s Kunlu offering but because of a couple reviews on this one recently. Mrmopar had this one yesterday so i used it as an excuse to remember to pull this one out today. I have three others i need to look at but I’m waiting for more time to be able to sit and focus on the teas.
Love the way this one smells when the water and leaves come in to contact with one another. I’m more of a shu girl, but this had a great aroma to it. The steepings i had of this one were sweet with an initial very slight bitterness to them. Nothing overly so, but enough to remind me that i was drinking a sheng. This isn’t a super heavy puerh – mostly just a lighter, refreshing, fruity, sweet, brew. I didn’t get much in the way of apricots as other have but the sweetness leans towards that sort of plum/stonefruit taste. No smokiness here and a really enjoyable puerh from today. I spent the better part of the day with this over multiple infusions in between drinking other things.
Thanks again for the great offering Wymm tea!
so this was the tea that started my swap with beelicious. She was not impressed, and i’m willing to try nearly anything :) Turns out this is pretty gross. First off, it smells like tiger balm/vick’s vapo rub. There’s just something about it that isn’t right. Brewed, it tastes a little better….slightly smokey but mostly i feel like i’m drinking liquid vapo rub. It’s not even really “pine” it’s menthol more than anything. I am also not a fan. not the worst, but August uncommon has MUCH better offerings! Thanks beelicious! :)
Another from beelicious and one off my wishlist. I love this! It’s a great blend of chili, cacao and black tea. I imagined this one being spicier than it was, but i’m not disappointed. Because the flavours actually blend together really nicely, i don’t long for a spicier bite to this cup. It’s interesting and one that i would love to stock if i can find a better shipping price than 20usd. UGH. seems obscene for that expense to canada.
thank you beelicious She was kind enough to swap some of these teas with me so that i could give them a whirl and hopefully try them before they’re gone. Though even if they are gone, it still helps give me a sense of what the company is capable of before placing and order since international shipping is a flat 20usd. gross.
i can’t figure out what tea this one reminds me of. the aroma is absolutely that of another tea that i’ve had before…maybe one of the roasted oolongs that i’ve had? The difference here is that i am really enjoying the brew of this one. I prefer yellow teas that produce a sweet liquor, but this is still really nice and thoroughly enjoyable. roasted peanut oolong sort of taste…smooth, no bitterness and a satisfying cup. not heavy.
