6489 Tasting Notes
sample sipdown! (162) I figured i really needed to get in at least a couple sipdowns today so my goal is 160 so that i can spend the rest of the time drinking new teas and deciding which ones i love the most! haha That will also put me in a good spot to have 1 a day until the end of the month and STILL reach my goal (unless tea shows up from Miss B or terri or dexter…or kallieboo or…yeesh).
This tea smells lovely! it’s blood orange all the way. Drinking it though? WOAH man there is some serious tartness to this. It needs sugar to be drinkable and this reminds me more of grapefruit on the tail end of the sip…while the front end is orange.
Thanks for sharing Cavo! :)
backlog from yesterday – after work we went out to the liquor station and out for dinner AND did a bit of browsing at the jewellery store so by the time we got home i was pooped and just wanted to sleep.
I picked this one yesterday because i am DYING to try all the teas i received from stacy (it’s been forever since i had new teas from her!) and this was my flavoured pick. I need to have this again before making a final decision. It was more irish cream than cheesecake, which i think i recall seeing stacy say was what they were going for. The smell is AMAAAAAZING! It’s a smooth tasting tea. I’m just not sure if I like it. I need to sit with it again in a cup. When i’m focusing on drinking my tea, not doing work. It’s for sure not a cup i hate..i’m just not quite sure how i feel about it yet. :)
Oh Patty…you’ve come back to me. four glorious ounces of delicious goodness for me to work my way through. I love having non black tea options in my cupboard! Especially when they’re as awesome as this one. Final count for the day is 163 with my Butiki Order…that will certainly go up as well with a few swaps inbound but so far, I’m still feeling like my 150 goal is manageable by dec 31. As long as i don’t go placing another couple orders….
On this tea? Thanks for making a kick ass mint chocolate tea that i actually really like Stacy! Esp since it’s not black!
I hate you winter snowflake sprinkles. I hate you. get out of my teas. Cavocorax brought my della terra teas to me today and so i figured what the hell! Part of the reason i picked this one up is that i DO like it (i hate you sprinkles) but not enough to keep it stocked through out the year. However, once a year, an ounce is nice to have to change things up a bit especially since this is a rooibos option. So cheers!
down with sprinkles!
alright moosetracks…bring it. yeah that’s right. I figured i’d see what all the fuss was about since cavo was kinda enough to bring the rest of her little bit over to my place today. Plus…totally a sipdown hahaha AND i wanted to decide whether to order this or not since i’m likely looking at a herbal infusions order soon. :)
First off? this smells great. I likely wouldn’t have bought this because of the coconut but there’s really none to be found. If anything its just there, adding a bit of creaminess to things.
secondly..make no mistake about it, this is a coffee tea. If you despise coffee, probably not the tea for you.
Finally, while i don’t agree that this is florence like, it IS mocha/hazelnut delicious and i do quite like it! I’m also curious as to how this would taste with a bit of cream in it..or iced as dexter suggested.
mmm ok this + baileys irish cream coffee creamer is pretty good hahaha
Phew back down to 150 after adding my teas from Cavocorax into my cupboard…that’s not saying much since it’ll be up again but every little cup counts. I figured i should start in on drinking some rooibos tonight so i opted to try this one out.
I have to say…i don’t get much from this one. the rooibos base is nice but i do not taste any sort of white chocolate truffle except in maybe the aroma. What i do sot of like about this one is the mint that is there but not OMG IN YOUR FACE. Admittedly it’s mostly rooibos with the hint of mint but for whatever reason i’m ok with that since this is the nice sort of rooibos and not that woodsy sort that i don’t like on it’s own :) thanks cavo! (and technically variatea)
Thank you nicole! While i’ve been off of peach/apricot sort of teas for the last little while, I was happy to see this one show up. I tend to like harney’s tea base so i was hopeful on this one. I was right…once again the base blends very nicely with the flavouring and lends itself to a truly delicious cup.
another sipdown from today (141). I’m pretty much going to have my work cut out for me in terms of getting my cupboard under control this month, but i’m ok with that.
Because this is such an interesting tea, the rest is off to terri to try out. I quite like it, though i’m not sure about a re-order. Either way it’s been great to try these blends from bellocq as i have a better sense of what i might like from them given their smaller quantities are 3oz. Thanks again fuzzyP!
