6482 Tasting Notes
I received this from the company in the mail today and rather than have it eat up room in my cupboard, i opted to make a cup and toss the other cup’s worth in the box for Cavocorax so HA!
If you sign up for their newsletter they send you a sample every couple of months with their newletter which came with a coupon for free shipping (and their shipping is pretty expensive so not a bad deal) it’s enough to make me want to pick up a few more samples of a couple of their teas.
This tea isn’t bad – there are actual blueberries in this. However, this particular brand of rooibos is that kind that always seems to be present no matter what it’s blended with. so it’s not my favourite. But it’s not bad. this does taste more closely to wild blueberries as well than just normal old blueberries and that makes me happy. over all, not bad but not OMG AMAZING! :)
I had a cup of this tonight and i am now decuboarding it to add it to my swap pile. Again, not because i hate the tea but because i have outgrown it. I like the addition of the vanilla with the mint, but i’m growing tired of Della terra’s incessant need to add coloured crap to all their blends. my infusers says…NO MORE! so into the swap box it goes!
this was one of my other teas from today. I had a much less eventful day than yesterday but i still didn’t get much tea drinking done. I’m kind of hoping that tomorrow will make up for it since i have something waiting for me at the post office, a near future date with cavocorax to swap some things AND at probably 2-3 more packages coming in the mail in addition to my butiki order. and i’m contemplating a couple orders tonight haha.
Still loving this one, though i much prefer it in a mug to my travel mugs. there’s something lacking when i can’t inhale the delicious aroma while drinking it!
so i likely won’t get any sipdowns in today and my cupboard may likely explode in short order but I don’t care. I’m working from home tomorrow to get my tea drinking on AND next week should be a good one with at least 2 extra days of tea drinking, hanging at home enjoying things days!
I’m nearly done this one, but all that makes me want to do is plan another purchase. or five. that’s ok right? goals are meant to be broken as long as you’re having fun? :)
sometimes i wish the images in my head could just be there. I had a long day. started work at 7:15am….finished at 9:45. No dinner ‘cause i’m too exausted to eat and only a morning snack. But i came home…finished things up..watched some videos of golden retriever puppies…read some tea tasting notes and now…now i’m going to curl up in the bed and watch a short episode of bad tv before i head to bed.
However, i had this tea in the morning and it was amaaazing for today. so ha! more importantly as i do a touchdown victory dance in the end zone of my warped mind…i received my teavivre order today and I’M STILL UNDER 150! BOOOYAAAA!!!! short lived victories are still victories.. ohbyeah! oh yeah woot woot!
sipdown! YAY! maybe when i pick up my teavivre order tonight i won’t be above 150. maybe. Had this to kick off the morning with a splash of maple syrup to make it a little tastier. there’s a bit of snow falling here over the past couple of days so i am LOVING IT! nothing says winter like getting to wear my rubber boots to work everyday. :)
not a repurchase but nothing i would turn up my nose at in future :)
My matcha was composed of the following:
Size : Small
Matcha Quality: Starter (Basic Grade)
I adore Creme Brulee…but it is one of those desserts that is so VERY hard to find done well. The custard inside needs to be just right or the texture doesn’t allow me to fully enjoy the creamy carmelised sugar and the overall wonderfulness of the tea.
I tend to prefer Red Leaf’s creamier flavours so i figured i would pick this one up in one of my orders. Since I am sending this off to CHAroma, i figured i’d better at least try it haha. It’s late but i figured a small serving of this should do too much damage.
Opening this, I don’t get much in the way of creme brulee aroma. Instead it just smells vaguely creamy. I whipped this up in latte form, since that’s pretty much how i drink 90% of my matcha in the winter and took an initial sip.
Final verdict on this? it’s creamy…and reminds me of the custard flavour in creme brulee…but it’s missing the delicious burnt sugar taste that i love. I also think this would be one of those flavours where the Robust level flavouring might really make it pop. I can see that Tastybrew loves it, but hers is Robust. over all this reminds me more of the memory of creme brulee than actuall eating creme brulee. It’s like the faintest whisper reminding you of the dessert you had the other night. I’d give this another shot though in a stronger flavouring so that makes it ok by me! :)
