6601 Tasting Notes
nom nom nom nom nom drinking tea while playing board games and being sick. My other half is willing to join me in a year of taking 1 picture a day of something that makes us smile/we’re grateful for/we appreciate etc… so here’s to trying to keep that up for a whole year :) Anyway, this tea? love it. so glad i picked up 100g of it…though it’s going fast!
sipdown on this one as well, though i’m sad to see it go. The rest is off to Terri so that she can try this! I quite enjoyed this, though i think unlike others i don’t have a dying need to see this one around as a permanent blend. I’m happy to have tasted it and experienced it but Stacy has so many others i love more :)
nothing to say about this one really…tried again with it and it still isn’t any sort of yummy for me. I don’t much like yabao and after a few cups of trying this out under various conditions it’s still nothing i’m enjoying. the last little bit of mine is off to terri to see if she can pull some delight out of this one.
sad sad tea. Thanks for sending this my way missb! I was excited about trying this one out because not only did it smell amazing in the bad but there were little caramel droppings in it. However…brewing this has left me with a cup of artificial tasting slightly tart weird tasting tea. it’s pretty gross lol. I’m going to pass on drinking more than the couple sips of this one and chalk it up to not the tea for me. too bad since i’d had high hopes for this one. heh thanks missB!
sipdown! (174) I apparently felt like a few of missB’s samples today :) I love a good scottish caramel toffee puerh. I have no idea if the few that i’ve tried all ultimately come from the same source but i will never say no to this particular tea. there’s something delicious about the earthiness of the puerh mixing with the caramel that leaves me happy. It’s not sweet but it’s delicious! Happy to have tried another variation on this one!
another one from missb that smelled seriously delicious! That being said, after a 5 minute steep, i expected the flavours to pop more. It’s a decent cup, but the dry aroma held so much more promise. Not a bad little tea and as others have mentioned with a little sweetner, the flavours DO pop a little more. Thanks for the new tea missb!
sipdown! today is a random drinking tea sort of day. mostly, whatever grabs my fancy when i happen to be standing near the kettle. :) MissB was kind enough to send a little of this one my way, for which i am thankful! this is one that i’ve been wanting to try for a while now but keep putting off because i HATE shanti’s website. i hate having to sign in to add things to a cart…i hate that you don’t know whether the tea is in stock or not until you click through to the tea – and they often have a lot of teas not in stock…it’s just not a pleasant experience combines with shipping prices that aren’t great.
Which of course makes me sad because i like supporting Canadian tea shops. So the tea..it’s…kinda bland. There’s a coffee taste hanging out in the background of the cup, but the brew isn’t a smooth blend. I don’t want to say it’s bitter because it wasn’t really but it was slightly dark. The caramel taste is slightly present but not enough for me to say wow. I hope this isn’t what justjames tastes when he drinks caramel flavoured teas lol
Still though, i’m happy to have tried it! thanks missb!
sipdown! thanks again for sharing some of these with me terri! it was nice to confirm that i do prefer teavivre and mandala to these but that these are still a good option when the others are out. Having a relaxing day today – full breakfast, cleaning things up and taking it a little easy given that we’re a sick household today heh.
