7437 Tasting Notes
dexter sent this to me and now i’m all like HAHAHAHA! i will review this before you MWAHAHAHAHA…. ok maybe not really but FB chat is making me giggly and loopy right now…and only THREE MORE DAYS UNTIL VACATION!
also….i totally forgot what i was going to say about this tea.. the interwebs distracted me.. um………..
1) it smells amazing..mangolicious
2) it’s super tasty and this would probably be awesome as a cold brew…
3) it’s not KERPOW in your face mango but yum it is. i said so.
soooooooooooo close to a sipdown on this one…to the point where i was contemplating making a really stong travel mug today…but i refrained. haha. I need to try to get a few in tonight because my damn fine teas arrived, but this was not meant to be one of them…but there will be a few incoming now that i’m home and relaxing… wheee!
Another tea from this morning AND one of the teas that i’ve been trying to work through lately because i have a number of teas from both TTC and Norbu that i haven’t opened or started yet! i like the fresh and fruitiness of this one even if it’s not my FAAAVOURITE from TTC. it’s still damn good and i’m happy to have it in my cupboard to drink!
this was another one sent my way by missB Funnily enough the chocolate smell/taste in this one is intense. I have to agree with her, that when something has spicy in the name, you expect it to be spicy…not sweet. This is chocolate rooibos with a hint of something else going on there. it’s still tasty, but it doesn’t have the kick i was expecting it to have. I’ll have to play with the steeping a little to see if there’s anything i can do to make it a littler punchier.
in other news? salted caramel criollo is amaaaaaazing….
Final Count: 149 (19 + 4 to go)
missB sent this one to me and as i was drinking it..i was trying to figure out what it reminded me of…until i read the description and realised it was the orange that i was thinking of. this is a pretty tasty rooibos actually, and something i’d drink again. I have half a mind to cold brew the last of the sample missb sent, but now i’m not sure. Either way, this is tasty and i’ll enjoy the last cup when i have it. It’s not quite an orange rooibos since the cinnamon added to it, makes for a different taste profile than your typical orange rooibos. :)
since i was all “let’s dig into THE BOX” to celebrate 4k tasting notes, i may have pulled out 2 of my three teas. This being the second one, since if you’re going to go crazy and dig in to THE BOX, you might as well pull out more than 1 tea. haha This tea, in case anyone is wondering, is hands down the best pumpkin tea out there. PLUS it has the added bonus of having ginger in it – which makes all teas better imo (unless they’re dessert teas) AND it’s a rooibos tea.
I feel sad that there are people out there who will never try this tea. I realised that this marks 4k tasting notes since i started hanging out on steepster. 2 years, 400 pages of tasting notes, 1738 teas tried (give or take a few) and i only just now feel like i’m starting to understand what i love about certain teas. When i realised this was to be 4k…i went into the special box. the box of teas that i hoard because they will either be gone for too long or because i feel like it :P There are 3 teas in there….this is one of them.
This was graciously passed to me by omgsrsly when i bemoaned the fact that i only had one single packet of this tea left. I still only have one package of this left – the other one from my tea sister terri. I really hope that someday verdant is able to get this tea back, or some variation on the theme from the family experimenting more.
