mmmmm delicious pearls! sorry to see this go, but it won’t be for long :) These are my favourite pearls that are readily available so they are a constant restock as i’m inspired to have pearls in my cupboard :)

This is directly at the top of my list of things I’m going to order a crapload of as soon as I’ve moved into my new flat, job or no job! Little bundles of pure delight. SO GOOD.

Final Count: 198 [Fake Cupboard at 123 with the addition of RiverTeas yesterday]

whatshesaid

Fake cupboard?

Sil

it’s my cupboard minus all the 2-3 cup samples that cavo, miss b, variatea, roswell strange, yyz, boychik, terri, angel inundated me with in basically a week’s time. I’m still trying to get to 100 by July 1st in my fake cupboard lol

Terri HarpLady

cheater!!!
:p

Sil

Hahaha oh I failed in my goal….but I was curious how close I could have gotten if I didn’t get all those samples lol

aaaalmost out of this one, and it’ll be a re-order. I could do with a teeeny bit more banana since i prefer that to coconut any day but this one is well balanced enough that i like it a bunch :)

Long day…i missed out on the chance to participate in stacy’s contest in the evening yesterday because my other half decided spur of the moment that he wanted to pain the living room RIGHT NOW….so last night i was up way too late. I then missed out on picking up a tentacle nordic mug from davids because i slept in and had a busy day. lol I’m home late tonight because i promised colleagues we’d go out and tomorrow i’ve got ppl coming over so no relax time then. first world problems, i know, right? lol

anyway, i haven’t been drinking as much tea as usual because i’ve been busy and i’m a little tea-ed out. So i’m drinking what i want, when i want and not stressing over it lol

gmathis

Send your spur-of-the-moment painter our way: we’ve got a bathroom that’s been under renovation for so long I’m thinking about hanging blueprints on the wall and claiming it’s deliberately a “construction” theme!

Terri HarpLady

We were gonna paint the front porch tomorrow, but I’ll be planting sweet potatoes instead…guess we’ll paint next week!

Terri HarpLady

Stacy’s contest? Dammit, why am I always the last to know about these things? sigh…

Lariel

This one is coming to my house soon.

Sil

Terri – because you have more of a life than me? :)

Terri HarpLady

Only in spurts, LOL :)

OMGsrsly

Planting sweet potatoes. Wow, Terri! I’m seriously wishing I had garden space right about now. :)

This was an interesting tea. I had hopes for the ginger/pineapple combination, but when i picked it, i didn’t realise that there is both basil and tulsi in this one. As a result, while this is a pleasant enough cup, the ginger and pineapple are dominated by the tulsi. I think i would love this sooooo much if there was no Tulsi – it would make a pretty good tea. And i’m not a tulsi hater, it just bring a particular taste to the table and it’s not what i was looking for in this tea. Still, it’s nice to try a few more teas :)

Preparation
Boiling 8 min or more
gmathis

Odd combination—tulsi is pretty overpowering. Ginger and pineapple I could groove with.

Sil

yeah it overpowered the whole blend…

Nattie

I always find ginger overpowering, it’s probably from the bad childhood memories, though. Ugh. I can’t stick ginger now.

Terri HarpLady

I love my Ginger, not so much for tulsi though

Sil

i don’t mind tulsi but in moderation :)

Terri HarpLady

meh….first it was rooibos this & rooibos that. I remember herbal teas before rooibos came on the scene, they were way better, or maybe it just seemed that way, back in the dark ages. Now Tulsi is the new rooibos, as far as I’m concerned.

Another sample from RiverTea. In my opinion they seem to be doing well in the straight black world, fruit teas and white flavoured teas. Everything else seems to be a little hit and miss. Hot, this one had a few pepper notes but not a great deal. For the most part this tastes like a rather generic fruity sort of rooibos. Not a bad cup but rather tasteless…

Preparation
Boiling 7 min, 15 sec

So you’re saying the flavors are in limbo ;)

I received my second box of RiverTeas today and figured i would try all the samples they sent me since that would mean not having to add them to my cupboard since the other half is going over to Cavocorax since it was a joint order :) This one isn’t bad…it’s not as strawberry as i want it to be, but the base isn’t overly bitter and does still come through. It’s more mango than anything, and in my world, that’s not a bad thing…but i did want more strawberry :)

aaaalllll gone! That makes me happy since i AM still trying to chug away at my goal. I enjoyed a nice cup of this over dinner with my other half. I like the blend of this with the black tea, though truth be told it’s not likely a reorder for me since there are so many other Lupicia teas that i’d rather have. But it was really nice to be able to buy a tin, split it three ways and get a few cups in :)

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
