i think… that perhaps fauchon and i don’t get along. Dinosara sent this one my way, and i really thought i would like it but the floral taste is too much for me. I don’t get much in the way of vanilla, though it is there for me a bit. Instead it feels very much like i’m back in my grandmother’s bathroom smelling her floral hand creams. Only that’s what it tastes like to me. bah. Oh well, can’t win them all, and if you like rose, you’d probably really like this tea.
meh. not a fan of this one. Especially when i can drink butiki’s version for less money and it’s tastier. So what if it’s not black…not like i don’t have a zillion black teas in my cupboard haha. The base of this one just isn’t the kind of black base that i enjoy. This one is going in to the swap box for others to try for sure. Thanks Cavo? Not the tea for me..but good to cross another one off my list!
hmmm this tastes totally different than the one from Tao Leaf Tea. This one is more up my alley because of the woody, malty tones in it. The aroma is utterly chocolatey to me, though that doesn’t come through in the taste as much, which is fine because that’s why i have LB :) Overall – i prefer other black tea i tried from yezi today but this one isn’t bad.
So..i have a confession to make. Terri, close your eyes and move on to the next tasting note!
…..i don’t like jin jun mei. I’ve had it a couple times now from various companies and i have yet to find a version i like. BUT i received this one as a free sample from tao leaf tea, and another from yezi…so i’m drinking both, side by side to compare the two.
Tao Leaf tea:
-less tea fuzz than Yezi
-smells very similar
-sweetness to this, with the hint of, as IB mentioned, pepper?
Overall not a bad tea, but there are so many others that i’d rather drink.
