5583 Tasting Notes
SIPDOWN! (276 though that will change again tomorrow) I figured i should finish this up and get the rest in a bag for Tastybrew who wanted some. There was just enough to make a small cup after packaging up a few cups worth for her so i said what the heck! Still a lot of teas to get through in the next little while so it’s nice to be able to cross a few off my list. Maybe i’ll have time to re-organise my overflowing cupboards tomorrow after gym and costco :)
Still really like this one, it’s tastier than your average green caramel, which i think is because of all the stuff going on. Happy i got the chance to try this one from Kally tea.
mmmmmm i am enjoying this one tonight. I like that this has both passionfruit and orange in it, and both tastes carry over to the brew itself. It’s a little tart but not overly so, and i suspect adding a bit of sugar would turn this fruity concoction even tastier! I think this would be a nice addition to the cupboard for summer time cold brews, though i haven’t yet tried it cold :)
mmmm this was my take around toronto tea for today and was a nice end cap to this afternoon’s tea with raritea you should all be jealous. we went for tea at the king edward hotel today in toronto and it was aaaaamaaazing! at least in terms of the food lol. The tea was really enjoyable, but by far was overshadowed by the sammiches and desserts.
This tea? a wonderful not as sweet tea to end the afternoon while i do some “work” for work. ugh.
Another decent afternoon type tea from purearoma. I find this much more mango than i do apple but again, this is a smooth tea with a pleasant taste that doesn’t overwhelm anything. I don’t love the taste of this one, but i think that’s personal preference more than it’s that the taste is wrong. There is a floral note in here that detracts from the taste. I think i likely need to order some straight teas from purearoma since i’m finding that the base to their flavoured teas sits well with me. I’d be interested in finding out how they stand on their own.
This is for the 2013 harvest as I’m not apt to creating new entries for each year unless someone already has that done. I’ve come to recognise that as far as greens go, i’m best to have small samples for when i want a green straight tea rather than buying actual ounces of tea. I like green teas but they require a certain state of mind from me to really enjoy them. Blacks are still my go to tea.
This is a really lovely tea. I’ve been drinking it this morning while i get ready to meet up with raritea to visit doors open toronto for a wee bit and head to the king edward for late afternoon tea. It should be a really nice time and it looks like the weather is cooperating even if it is a bit cooler than i’d like. My over all impressions of this are that it’s light, slightly floral but not in a way that i don’t like, there’s a sweetness to it as well…I’ll likely be finishing this off over the weekend so more to come.
Thank you kittylovestea for this sample! Another one i opted for cold brewing first. There is something in this tea that smells and reminds me of the lemonade tea that i received to try from lala. It’s not the same tea at all but i think there is some cross over in the ingredients.
Anyway, this brews up as a rich pink/red brew – as most do with the presence of hibiscus. The liquor however is not dominated by the hibiscus. Instead it’s a lemoney blend with just a bit of tang from the hibby. I think i prefer the one from lala as a lemon cold brew but this isn’t half bad. I’m looking forward to trying this hot to see how that translates :)
Thank you hallieod for sending this along for me to try. I’m not sure why but i opted to try this cold brewed first. Maybe i wanted to see how floral this became as a cold brew? regardless, that’s what i did.
As a gold brew this is really quiet vegetal. There are only hints of other things going on but mostly it’s a pale lightly coloured brew that tastes very much like a green tea rather than a flavoured tea. I’ll be trying this as a hot brew before i rate it. I didn’t hate the cold brew but i also didn’t love it. :)
