5906 Tasting Notes
I realized today that even though I have some teas nearing sipdowns, I have some old-er teas that I should work on drinking or just figure out that I should pass them on ASAP. Kally teas are the oldest in my cupboard if I’m remembering right, though when I say “old” they’re still within 8 months or so. I’m working on not only reducing my cupboard size but getting down to a smaller group of teas of which I keep maybe2oz at most if I drink them weekly. That way I’m drinking them when they’re fresh and sending more time enjoying all the teas I have.
I still like this one, though it wasn’t my favourite Kally tea. It’s not a tea that ages super well, so it’s become a bit milder, which isn’t a bad tug. Over all though, still an enjoyable up of tea.
mmmmm sipping on a cup of this today after being out in the downpour. We walked to the grocery store in the rain and after getting back. this is exactly the tea i wanted. It’s not cold outside but it offered that spicey warmth to warm me up from the cool rain and coming in to dry off. I added a bit of milk and sweetner to this and it is delicious! i like the slightly citrus edge that is in this chai without being overpowering. For sure one of top chai teas.
I pulled this one out of the cupboard today to give it another try. I have to say, i’m not sure if it’s the age or just what i was in the mood for but it’s tastier than i remember it being. I think i’d like to try this cold at some point as well so see how it fares as an iced tea since i do like fruity iced teas. Even though there are a few flowers in here, it’s not enough to make the blend floral….which is a HUGE plus for me.
another tea from nxtdoor This one smells like harney and sons black currant tea but much more intense. I brewed this as a hot brew and after tasting it, knew that i’d prefer this cooled down. So i tossed it in the fridge and once it was cooled added a small splash of sugar to this. delicious! i actually prefer this one to H&S since it’s even more black curranty. thanks for sharing nxt door! Going to try the last of my sample as a straight cold brew i think.
I had a bit more of this tonight while relaxing with my other half after some much required running around today. We got to sit and watch some Hannibal so that was nice. :) My opinion hasn’t changed much on this…it’s decent but not out of this world and i might as well make other teas cold brewed since i’ve got lots in the house rather than buying these packs :) Still though…maybe an option for when i get my cupboard back down.
Backlog from yesterday. Finally figured out that i just need to give this tea a little stir while it’s brewing to get the chocolate chips to finish melting. I love the flavouring in the this tea – especially since it’s a herbal tea! I’m used to black bases for my chocolate mint and this tea manages to get the same delicious chocolatey, minty taste.
backlog from yesterday
I took this with me out to visit with friends. i wanted something that would travel well and these ambessa teas seem to do well in the travel mugs. I think this tea is more of a safety net – toss a few sachets in my purse or something for when i’m on the road. I wouldn’t necessarily buy this in loose form as I think there are better. if that makes sense? It’s still a tea that i enjoy but it’s partially for the convenience factor heh.
sipdown! (196) i tried this today a couple ways…mostly because the first sip i took went something like:
“oh look yummy tea”
yeah…no. not sure if i was just way over brewing it or missing something but no. no. no. Makes me sad because i feel like i SHOULD like this. but i can’t get behind it.
