6828 Tasting Notes
Sipdown! (157) just wanted to relax tonight with another’s a rm comforting tea. I’ll restock this one in he the near-ish future, though I’ve got a few more cups of the lime chiffon before I really need to do that. Good thing Black Friday is creeping up on us haha. That also means I have a little over a week to get down to 150, and even if justjames’s arrive, I should be more than able to hit my goal. Then I can decide if I want to aim for really trimming my cupboard down and trying to hit 100. Not that I mind having lots of tea in my cupboard, it’s just fun to make a game out of things….especially since at the end of the day, I’m doing what I love….drinking tea! ;)
….and now…back to my orange, creamy goodness!
Mmmmm I’ve been feeling like I’ve been fighting something for a bit now so I pulled these out of my cupboard to have tonight. I know nothing about herbs and the like but Terri told me to drink these if I felt like I was coming down with something, so here I am! Good thing I like the taste too – esp with a pinch of honey :)
Sample sipdown of this one – passed on to me by my tea sister terri! I’m not overly a fan of oolongs – the roasted variety are better than the green variety but on the whole, 98% of the time i will take black tea/puerh over oolongs. However, i need to try all the teas!
If you are a fan of oolongs, this is likely a really nice roasty delicious oolong, with that familiar roasty oolong sort of taste. heh for me? this isn’t my cup of tea but i wouldn’t turn a cup down.
i think this one was my Favourite from the easy teas that dexter was kind enough to share with me. It’s not too light, and also has a fruity flavour to it that is unlike other teas like this that i’ve had. I quite like this one…even cooled (work distracted me!) it’s tasty!
Having some flavoured teas for a bit of a break this afternoon. I’ve got a busy afternoon ahead of me so i wanted a bit of flavour before i head back to my oolongs and blacks that i want to get through this afternoon :)
Still really enjoy this one from stacy even though green aren’t usually my favourite :)
Terri sent this one to me in our last exchange. Not i have to preface this with the fact that i have really enjoyed all of the black teas that i’ve tried from taiwan tea crafts. The exception appears to be with their aged teas. Granted this one tastes totally different from the other aged tea i tried :)
The brewed aroma of this tea is amaaaazing. It’s juicy and fruity and overall i was like oh man..that smells wonderful. Sadly, that doesn’t equate with the actual tea. Much like tastybrew, this isn’t a tea for me. I get where she mentions raisins, as that is sort of what i’m tasting. Overall though, it’s like musty raisins..or something.
Nothing i’ll order again, but i do like being able to cross it off my list. Especially since there will be continued orders from taiwan tea crafts :)
This was a sample that I picked from Yezi tea. Their samples are individually packaged and i love that their black teas are in red bags, while the puerh are in black. Nothing major, but i like it :)
I’ve been drinking it this morning and i’ll try to capture some notes since this is the first tasting note.
I did an initial rinse of this and then steeped for 30 seconds. The aroma was very subtle and didn’t give much hint as to what the brew would taste like. Initial sips found this to be very mellow and mild, but not lacking in taste. There was a fresh taste to this, while still feeling like a puerh. It felt like a tea that hadn’t quite aged as much as i’d prefer.
More to come later, but initial impressions are that I can see myself getting more of this in the future. It’s not quite as developed a puerh as the ones that i love from Mandala (still my favourite puerh vendor) but this is nice. I’d be curious to see how this ages.
mmm! this is the second flush from Alice that i drank to compare against the first flush darjeeling that she sent my way. This one has a darker taste to it. The muscatel taste isn’t overly strong in this one, but there is a nice balance of astringency mixed in with the taste here. There’s no floral notes in this, which makes this slightly more enjoyable to me than the other, but not by much :)
Thanks Alice! these are both delightful.
