4041 Tasting Notes
GCTTB I figure i need to try the last few teas from the tea box that i really wanted to try and get the rest on the move. I wanted to try this one even though it was a green because i enjoyed the other teas that dexter had shared with me from the tea cupany. I just haven’t had a chance to actually place an order myself….yet.
I really like this one. What’s funny though, is that i could love it even more as a puerh. The flavouring in this one reminds me a LOT of the puerhs that are put into the orange rinds. It’s for sure a mandarin flavour though, not strictly orange and that is whats makes me happy with it i think. Another win from the tea cuppany!
this tea came from me from the lovely Ysaurella I wan’t sure how i’d feel about it, and i’m sorry to say that after having my first cup…i’m still not really sure :) this has a lemon taste to it but it’s dull and flat. It’s almost as if the tea forgot to wake up. I’ll have to play around with the steeping parameters and see if i can coax a little more out of this one :) Nonetheless, appreciate the share since this is one i was looking at buying myself in future heh
Thanks VariaTEA! this tea smells wonderful…more vanilla than peach, but totally ok with me given my declining deire for peach teas in my life. However, brewed…this is a different beast. It becomes a sort of weirder black tea that isn’t quite peachy or vanilla like. It reminds me of something, though i can’t quite place it. Ah wel…can’t win ’em all!
sooo i’m lazy and can’t seem to find a tea sent to me by VariaTEA (indirectly from Roswell Strange) soooo here it goes.
Joie de Vivre from Camelia S. I dind’t think i would like this one much given that it is a green and appeared to be floral in nature. Most people who have ever swapped with me know though, that i’ll try nearly anything…as evidenced by the alarming number of teas with bergamot in them that i’ve tried. BLECH. :) This one, was as i expected…a little too floral in nature for me in addition to the green base. I can handle small amounts of floral with black bases, but otherwise they generally make me cringe. However, as always…love trying new teas so thank you VariaTEA (and Roswell Strange)
another surprise sample from Nina’s in my joint order with cavo. While this one is quite lovely, it IS a green tea, which i am always less inclined to purchase than a black/honeybush/rooibos simply because of my tastes. I do like the raspberry and strawberry flavour in this one though, so i wouldn’t hesitate to have small amounts of this in future :)
mmm perfect mid morning tea to go along with getting tons of work done at home today. I really needed this day to just relax and focus on catching up with work. Hopefully by the time the weekend rolls around i’ll be ready for daylight savings, and being back in to the full swing of things with work :)
Joint order with Cavocorax resulted in Nina’s throwing in a few samples for us. Since they were largely teabags, i tossed them into a bag and randomly divided them between the two of us after giving cavo the “extra” earl grey bleeeergamot! be gone!
This one was rather pleasant. I’m not sure i’d go out of my way to buy it, but it really is a lovely, smooth blend of apple and vanilla…i don’t get much in the way of peach but that’s alright with me since i am all “peached” out lately.
Thanks for Sophie and Laurent for their awesome customer service and excellent teas!
last of my sample from courtney this morning…not much to say beyond this is a pleasant cup with a slight bit of astringency that i don’t mind at all. On the whole it was nice to get a sampling of ronnefeldt teas. They are for sure a fairly average cup of tea but nothing unpleasant or not worth drinking :) thanks courtney!
Finally getting around to trying the black tea that Tea at Sea was generous enough to send my way. It was the one i was most looking forward to out of the green/oolong and this one they sent me. What struck me first about this tea is that the little black leaves look more like oolongs that i drink. However, no oolongy weird smell coming from it so i wasn’t too worried. Brewed this up and the aroma was quite pleasant. This isn’t a super bold tea, but it’s smooth and there’s little to no astringency. On the whole it was a much needed pleasant cup to drink this morning. I’d be willing to try this again and maybe check out the rest of tea at sea’s teas :) thanks for sending the samples my way tea at sea!
GCTTB another from yesterday and the travelling tea box. This one was better than the gingerbread one, from the perspective of being more drinkable to me…however caramel vanilla this is not? It’s more like a slightly sweet average boring black red rose type tea. Happy to have tried it, but that’s where that stays.
I’m going to go with a starting count of 158 for March 1, though Feb i DID achieve my goal of getting to 150. :) Goal for this month… 140.
