6847 Tasting Notes
Don’t like this harvest. I’ve tried to drink this version in multiple ways and all I get is dirt. I’m channeling my inner “omgsrsly” i think. Not the end of the world, but i have ZERO desire to drink the rest of this. So i’m not going to. A waste of tea but i am really not a fan of this harvest and i refuse to drink things that i don’t enjoy.
Original version of this was a 91 for me; this year is closer to a 54.
noms. I’m “working from ottawa” for a few days this week while i wait on my dress to be adjusted. I’ll be happy to have that off my list so i can focus on all the other details of the wedding. We’re getting down to the end of things, and it’s all starting to really come together now. Since i’m here for nearly a week, i brought a number of teas with me that i want to get closer to finishing. I figure since i won’t have access to my entire tea cupboard, it’ll force me to focus on these teas, :) I just wish i could have packed up my tea tray and gaiwan for more puerh enjoyement. I’m still enjoying this one and will be sad to see it go when i finish it. It’s much less cinnamon roll than red heart candies, but i am still a fan! :)
farewell delicious blackberry tea! You were wonderful while i had you especially in the humidity and heat that is toronto these days. I’d pick this up again in a heart beat because it’s got a great flavour to it and there are actual blackberries in it! I have loved this cold brewed – even hot it’s pretty tasty too.
Final Count: 94
I also pulled this one out of my cupboard today. I have had the 2010 version of this tea, so now i feel like i should do a comparison at some point in the future.
this one started out slightly earthy but mostly just smooth, with a hint of that leather sort of taste in the background. later steepings had echoes of cocao but not quite. I’ll have to spend another day with this one to really get in to things – sadly work exploded in the afternoon, so while i kept drinking, it wasn’t focused :(
I have been up since forever this morning and because of that, i’m trying to get through a few puerh that i haven’t yet tried, in the event i ever get around to being allowed to place an order. so i randomly pulled a 2007, 2008 and 2009 out of my cupboard of various puerhs to see what was what.
this particular one, is slow to build – the initial rinse and few steeps being lighter but still smooth and tasty. It reminds me of a few other puerhs that i’ve had – being nothing spectacular, but still an enjoyable drink. We’ll see how the rest of the day goes.
noms! farewell gregory’s. I would totally pick you up again in the summer as a tasty fruit tea that i enjoy both hot and cold brewed. It’s got the tartness from the hibby but it’s not overpowering and it makes me a happy camper.
I’m going to be working from home next week for 4 days but “home” will be ottawa so i need to pack up some teas that i can spend some time with over the week. here’s hoping i can get a few sipdowns in!
