7737 Tasting Notes
Another one from the Naked Leaf that less expensive than the blergamot one. I really enjoyed this one even though i accidentally let it get cold. I think this would be nice with a bit of honey or steeped with apple juice, similarly to the elderberry from verdant that i like. On the whole, it was nice getting to try out a few new teas and vendors through the travelling teabox. The downside being that because i only sampled a few teas, it was almost a challenge to make room for my teas hahaha. I don’t envy variaTEA :P
Another one from the box that i’ve added to steepster since i couldn’t’ find it anywhere. Soooo for the record, i almost added this to steepster as Blergamot Sage. heh. I picked this one because i was curious how the evil B would fare in a herbal. Turns out that this is a nice enough balance of B and other flavours, that it didn’t overwhelm or overpower things. It took a back seat to the sage, peppermint and lemon thyme and verbena. Even the peppermint blended nicely. The only downside, as i discovered in transposing info from the website…i think this company might be off their rocker in terms of pricing.
18$ for 50g of a herbal? on what planet? was i just drinking liquid gold? eesh! otherwise… a pretty tasty blend.
I quite like this one. Thankfully the licorice root isn’t overpowering the rest of the tea, turning it into a sweet hot mess. I dislike i when licorice does that! I wish the ginger was a little more present in this one, so that it was a bit spicier, but overall it was pretty darn good! Love travelling tea boxes!
Another green from the box. I figure since i don’t typically buy greens, travelling boxes are a good way to try more! This one is quite tasty, which is a nice surprise since i’ve found that i much prefer tealux’s straight teas to their flavoured teas. just enough strawberry to make this one a positive experience for me, without the green taking over and making it grassy. Also, not sour, which makes me happy.
GCTTB I figure i need to try the last few teas from the tea box that i really wanted to try and get the rest on the move. I wanted to try this one even though it was a green because i enjoyed the other teas that dexter had shared with me from the tea cupany. I just haven’t had a chance to actually place an order myself….yet.
I really like this one. What’s funny though, is that i could love it even more as a puerh. The flavouring in this one reminds me a LOT of the puerhs that are put into the orange rinds. It’s for sure a mandarin flavour though, not strictly orange and that is whats makes me happy with it i think. Another win from the tea cuppany!
this tea came from me from the lovely Ysaurella I wan’t sure how i’d feel about it, and i’m sorry to say that after having my first cup…i’m still not really sure :) this has a lemon taste to it but it’s dull and flat. It’s almost as if the tea forgot to wake up. I’ll have to play around with the steeping parameters and see if i can coax a little more out of this one :) Nonetheless, appreciate the share since this is one i was looking at buying myself in future heh
Thanks VariaTEA! this tea smells wonderful…more vanilla than peach, but totally ok with me given my declining deire for peach teas in my life. However, brewed…this is a different beast. It becomes a sort of weirder black tea that isn’t quite peachy or vanilla like. It reminds me of something, though i can’t quite place it. Ah wel…can’t win ’em all!
sooo i’m lazy and can’t seem to find a tea sent to me by VariaTEA (indirectly from Roswell Strange) soooo here it goes.
Joie de Vivre from Camelia S. I dind’t think i would like this one much given that it is a green and appeared to be floral in nature. Most people who have ever swapped with me know though, that i’ll try nearly anything…as evidenced by the alarming number of teas with bergamot in them that i’ve tried. BLECH. :) This one, was as i expected…a little too floral in nature for me in addition to the green base. I can handle small amounts of floral with black bases, but otherwise they generally make me cringe. However, as always…love trying new teas so thank you VariaTEA (and Roswell Strange)
