6653 Tasting Notes
not a sipdown! I tried this one in because i wanted a bit of flavour, without having to look through samples that i didn’t set out last night lol. Overall, so far, i’m underwhelmed. I think i need to overleaf this a bit. Mostly it tasted like a green oolong. As it cooled, more of the orange started to come through but the almond side of this is missing. Luckily i have enough to make another cup in the nearish future to see if i can get it right and have a tastier cup!
sipdown! i brewed this one alongside the other honey oolong from this company to be able to compare them in actuality rather than from memory… THIS ONE WINS. oh man…this has got the sweetness of the other one but there really is this caramely taste that accompanies this one. I actually would consider putting this in my cupboard… no idea how hard it is to get these teas here but i’ll have to look into it. thank you nofars and terri! yum!
sipdown! I am a fan of this one, though it’s not my favourite F&M tea to date. This is a good keemun, though I think i still really love the one from red blossom that i purchased a while back. I added some maple syrup as i always do to keemuns and let the flavours dance in my mouth. I really do love a good keemun.
(on a random side note…i so want the signature package of assam that twinnings does…it has an elephant on it. Stupid stupid unavailable teas/packages here in NA lol)
this is also a backlog from last night. I’m going to have to agree with ifjuly…while this is lovely, i’d take della terra’s lemon chiffon first due to it’s creamier notes that hide the rooibos taste better. In lemoncello, i can still taste the rooibos fairly well through the lemon flavours. I wonder though, if this wouldn’t make a really nice iced tea with a splash of honey to make the lemon pop! I’ll have to try that next. that being said, this is still a decent enough tea :)
sipdown! this (and likely most of my sipdowns today) comes to me courtesy of terri but originally from NofarS so thank you both for the lovely teas!
I love this. I wasn’t expecting much when i opted to brew this today because i think i have this weird mindset that twinnings = not for me. However, the utter smoothness of the tea caught me off guard. I drank the first cup up so quickly, i made a second cup just to be able to enjoy it a bit more. It’s not one of those punch you in the face to wake you up in the morning teas, nor an overly malty tea..for me, it’s what an everyday cup of tea should be – utterly pleasant to drink :)
sooo this is NOT a sipdown tonight…but tomorrow it will be. I put the last of this in a container to cold brew overnight because i’m curious how the flavours deal with an extended brew but in cold water. I’ve found this tastes best at about 3 mins, whereas with some rooibos that i can let sit all night – this one gets gross after a long brew. So we shall see. I would for sure pick this one up again for more caffeine free options :) thanks again cavocorax!
