roswell strange sent this along as a surprise halloween treat and it was awesome! Love the halloween card and the surprise, because well surprise tea is ALWAYS awesome. This tea falls a little flat for me. Maybe it’s the base, but it’s kind of like an almost pumpkin spice sort of tea but then it gets lost along the way. However, it was still a decent enough cup, and it’s tea from a friend and one i haven’t tried before so YAY! :) thanks so much RS!
Nicole sent this one for me to try and i’m glad for it, since I am a fan of trying Norbu teas. Their min quantities are 100g, so it’s hard to get a sense of what i’d like before buying. Thankfully i do have steepster friends willing to split orders or, in the case of nicole (and others!) send samples to me.
This is a very light, refreshing tea. The mint in this isn’t overpowering and blends nicely with the darjeeling. There are under notes of a nature – reminding me more of a black tea, than a darjeeling (yes i know darjeelings are black..but they’re quasi black imo). i like this quite a bit. Thanks Nicole!
my other half didn’t make it to work this morning. Apparently the concert was a good time haha. It’s almost time to wake him up, since if he’s home today he can help me brave the grocery store on this long weekend. I figure two more cups of tea to relax with first and then we’ll see about getting him moving for the day. Can’t let him sleep in the WHOLE day. This is the last cup of the LB i ordered during the first preorder (4oz?) so now i’m down to the "extra’ that terri sent me home with. I’m thinking that i may just need to order 8oz next time since this is the one tea i still drink consistently 2.5 yrs in to my tea journey :)
this is a not a very good bagged tea. In contrast to the EB from H&S, this one leaves everything to be desired. it’s got a taste to it that’s neither smooth nor well blended. Not sure if it’s the teabag either but i’m getting a taste here that’s similar to paper but not quite. I’d be interested in trying this in a loose form, but given the choice, Harney is where it’s at!
I’m working on my cupboard this weekend. By that, I mean that i’m trying to get through a few of my samples and re-try some of my older teas that i need to figure out if i want to keep them to finish up, or gift them to a better home. I just happened to have a tea bag of this one and english breakfast from taylor’s , so i thought it would be fun this morning to compare the two.
soooo my problem with this tea is still that IF you don’t get enough banana chunks in it, it’s more cherry tisane than anything. However, when you get enough banana in here, it’s a great meld of the two. If i had banana chips on hand, i’d probably add a few to this to make it truly banana cherry. I have enough for another cup of this but since sharing is caring, this is off to a friend that i think will at least enjoy trying the cup. even if it ends up being more cherry than banana!
