3045 Tasting Notes
sipdown! which is a good thing since i received my two little red cup samples today…so at least my cupboard didn’t increase :) there’s still hope for me getting to 200 by the end of this weekend. i think.
This was a tasty cup…i’d even consider a re-order from time to time, to change things up in my cupboard. :)
well crap…that’s a sipdown, i have a cup left, but that’s being tucked away for the lovely cavocorax. :) I’ve ordered more of another lot of this one, so i hope it’s as delicious as this lot was…
this was my morning cup…before i left for work. i sat down at my dining room table and paused. not an amazing tea to do so with, but it was important to just take a moment and stop. everything. and i’m glad that i did because worked sucked. :)
sipdown! uh 224. I was enjoying this…immensely as i made it as a latte today – steeped in milk. as i was contemplating my tasting note though, someone shared news with me about an old “friend” of mine. For those that don’t know, i used to play world of warcraft pretty heavily and regularly. (story time now..no more tea comments, move on if you’re looking for those). started when the game launched etc..yadda yadda, was an officer in a guild, pulled 40 ppl through molten core etc but at a casual level i was proud to have gone through things with. None of this raiding 20 hours a week for me. long story short, one of my friends from wow passed away last weekend and the news has trickled over to me tonight. I haven’t talked to “runabout” in a while, but we kept in touch over the years. I honestly didn’t expect news of his death to hit me quite as hard as it has. One of those random internet friends….we met in person a couple times with the florida crew, but mostly we chatted in game and through email, trying to coordinate things. So right now, i’m waxing poetic about the good times we had, drinking my tea and smiling at internet friends. something my parents don’t understand as they didn’t grow up in this generation, but something i whole heartedly understand as our world has become more and more connected through our ability to share with one another. A silly game, yes but one that allowed me to meet some FABULOUS people, that i’m still friends with…i’ve shared weddings and births and other such events…and tonight….the first death. And it’s floored me. good night.
sipdown on this one (225) i don’t like it. pretty sure it’s the oolong base that just ruins it for me. it’s not one of those tasty oolongs i am ok with..instead it’s got this weird ick factor going on when mixed with the orange and almond. yep..oh well, glad i got to try it since this is one i would have expected to have liked!
sipdown! (226) I’m still aiming to get to 200 by the end of the weekend…i have a bunch of smaller samples that i’ll be able to drink. In the meantime, i’m also trying to get a few in, here and there during the week.
Most of you know that i am not a fan of oolongs. Kittenna ordered this with our joint order a while back and i nearly opted to try it as well…but i held off. When this showed up in the canadian travelling tea box, i figured it was meant to be. this is actually pretty tasty. I’d never want it as a permanent fixture in my cupboard but i would keep a small amount of this on hand for any time that i wanted a lighter tasting delicious oolong. It’s got a really nice sweet strawberry flavour, without that distinctive oolong taste i’m not a fan of.
I bought this as a sample from tao because my tea sister likes puerh and she likes ginger but she doesn’t usually like flavoured puerh (except sichuan caravan that needs to COME BACK NAAAO). So i figured maybe this would be one that she might enjoy.
As for me? I like this a bunch. It’s not drop everything omg this is the best damn tea ever, but it’s a little ginger-spicy and the base doesn’t get lost. I haven’t yet tried the samples of straight puerhs from tao but so far, these seem like good solid teas. I’m going to enjoy getting through more of these over the weekend (need to get to 200 after all…)
it MAY have taken me 40 mins to try and figure out which of the teas in my cupboard i made this morning to be my second tea….turns out it was this one lol
I vastly prefer this to chocolate o, which i quite enjoyed at first, but it has since decreased in how much i like it heh this was a great tea for today!
seriously, sometimes i want to kick steepster. it was giving me grief getting to this tea to post a note. This one is nearly gone, and i’m happy to say i’ve enjoyed this one from cuppa crew. Not sure if they’re still around, as i haven’t seen them on steepster in a while but if they are, they’re a company i’d be willing to re-order from. They have excellent customer service and i’ve enjoyed the teas of their that i’ve tried. this one has grown on me a bit as well as i’ve had it. :)
sipdown! that means i’m at 228….so getting to 200 by the end of the weekend should be totally doable as long as my other half doesn’t get my as sick as he is…but if i DO get sick..he’s going to the store to buy me this. this is what i want in a ginger tea…just enough citrus flavour to offset the intense ginger… and it’s caffeine free…AND my other half likes it…so he’s drinking this..and i’ll take the resteep… lol YAY! maybe it will help him get better!
