Man i am a slow poke today with my tea logging. Finally getting back to a more normal work load with more people coming in to work. I had this one again today because it’s almost out lol. Digging the strawberry to wake me up in the morning :)
1769 Tasting Notes
This came in the December Amoda Tea box! They’re a Canadian Company so if fellow Canucks are looking for a monthly tea box, this one is great value for your buck and has so far been an enjoyable time for me (this is from my third month). They also ship to the US (and maybe elsewhere?) for my friends down south.
I have been off of minty teas as of late but wanted a few cups tonight of tea that wouldn’t keep me up all night IF the caffeine decided to hit me. I am pretty happy with this blend over all! The minty is just the right kind of minty – that leaves my chest happy when i breath in after drinking some but the chocolate really helps to balance is out and dial back the intensity. I really enjoyed this one tonight!
Bumped the rating on this one a bit. Steeped this for about 6 mins. While the tea now leaves my mouth a little dry, there’s much more interesting flavour things happening. There’s a sweetness to this, and almost an appley taste….and almost a caramel taste. Really interesting to say the least. This might be good with a bit of milk later.
Oh man…this tea…steeped in vodka (grey goose)…added to cran/raspberry juice with some gingerale is mighty tastea! I am going to miss this when i run out of my vodka infused tea…or is that tea infused vodka. Either way the blueberry-ness of this tea makes for a delicious blueberry cocktail!
I can understand why this tea is popular. I like that the floral notes aren’t really strong, so it really is more of a green cherry tea. However, as is often the case, the “weight” of the tea just isn’t enough for me. I love thick, full bodied delicious teas. I still think this is a nice tea but it’s nothing i need to pick up again. I do really like the cherry taste, so now i just need t find a cherry black tea :) or maybe a roasted oolong… stacy i’m looking at you! lol
mmmm decupboarding this to give it to a work colleague who made the mistake of saying to me today “tea! i need to go buy tea!” uh no…what do you want…i’ll bring some samples tomorrow lol.
This was a lovely tea from Frank that i still enjoy but i’m hoping will inspire my workmate to order teas with me lol
mmmm second morning tea! I need to stop looking at the internet for tea. I keep wanting to place more orders and i REALLY don’t need more tea. I think part of the draw for me though, is a)getting mail and b)having new things to try out! I’ve made a resolution this year though to try and get my cupboard down to 100 teas by black friday of 2013 so that I can place a few orders at that time lol
This tea is still one delicious tea! I find it soothing and love how stacy has captured the cantalope flavour. It’s not wonder this one was winning awards. Still really happy i took a chance and picked this one up even if the name totally threw me off.
This is a delicious tea! I’m really happy that I got to try this one from Teavivre. It’s a beautiful tea. The first sips of this give way to a medium malty tea, that tapers off with notes of honey. I’m looking forward to seeing how the resteeps work out with this one. I’d rank it up there with my other favourite blacks.
mmmmmm morning matcha smoothie! Opted for something a little fruitier today to continue my quest to get my cupboard in order heh. While i really enjoy this matcha, i think i prefer the blueberry now that I’ve tried it. The flavours are a little more delicious and intense in the blueberry. The strawberry is still a yummy flavour but i’m not sure i need to keep it around on a permanent basis. I’d rather treat myself to this flavour from time to time.
Evening tea before bed as I need to g up for work tomorrow early. Back to the grind! Had a blast this evening playing games with friends and catching up. On the plus side as well, one of my friends would like to come over for tea in the near future so she can raid my tea stash and samples some of my matcha. She’s been looking for a few good teas to get back into drinking tea on a regular basis in non bagged form. Yay!
Backlog – had this as my afternoon tea on my way out to friends. I sometimes feel like I should feel embarrassed but I have started not leaving our house without one or two tea tumblers full of tea even if its to go to a friends place. It’s not that I don’t want their hospitality, but none of my friends really drink tea so if I don’t bring any, then I I get none! I wanted a solid black with flavours to tie me over until the evening so I chose this one from my stash, if only to help drink down some of th teas I have from butiki’s before the next order is placed :)
Again, this one didn’t fail to disappoint :)!
Bumped the rating a bit but still not a tea I need to order again. It’s not really chocolatey but it is coffee like. Added a bit of cream and that made it tastier too :). Ah well, can’t love ’em all :)
I figured I’d start the new year with a new matcha flavour for my morning smoothie! Ill post a proper review later at some point but man this is a fantastic! I was pushed into getting this by a few of the reviews on here by someone who’s name escapes me at the moment. I added just a touch of vanilla matcha to this smoothy just to make it a bit creamier and delicious. Th blueberry flavour in this is super intense and spot on to real blueberries. There really isn’t any artificial taste to this, which I was worried about after the pear fiasco. This was also distinctive flavouring since I’ve found with the fruit matches, robust seems to bee just a smidge too much for me. In the creamier, coffee, chocolate flavours I could totally probably push it to “there’s matcha in here” though I tend to stick to robust :)
Anyway wonderful start to the new year!
New Years sip down! Yay for a new year of teas, old and new!
Happy new year everyone!
Logging for posterity
Working on the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie with stacy and i’m super excited about it. Added a bit of spices to the sample she sent me and made my other half try it. It looks like he and i are in agreement on the whole hibiscus thing – sorry steepsterites, this blend will have them…in small amounts! for extra tangy rhubarb goodness :)
Anyway cinnamon was a success…nutmeg…well i’m not sure i added enough so I will leave that to the master blender Stacy heh
So i’m not really getting the bubbly out of this one but it is a really nice white tea. I don’t drink too many whites because i find them on the lighter side of things. The berry flavouring in this one, however, is quite nice.
Man this is tasty tasty. I’s not overly sweet in your face kinda tasty, but it is delicious! I really like the flavour of this one from kally tea. the cocoa isn’t strong but it blends really nicely with the caramel. I also like that this isn’t a black tea :)
mmmmmm i really like this one. It’s sweet and tangy and vanilla and orange and wheeeee! Hold on there lil’ lady. Yeah that’s right. it’s work from home day and i’m in a giddy (up) mood! lol alrighty then…now that i got that out of my system….for a herbal blend this is pretty darn rootin’ tootin’ tasty! and no, no i haven’t been watching toy story 2. anyway, i digress. I do love me some orange and cream. I’m looking forward to trying this as a cold brew in the summer :)
mid morning tea to give me a bit of energy while working. It’s strangely busy today as I think some people are back at work compared to last week. Really enjoying the creamy lemoney goodness of this one today.
Sipdown!
I really enjoyed this yesterday so i opted to drink it throughout the morning as my morning tea today since i get to work from home today and can pop up to resteep anytime i want! This plus a mini cinnamon roll = breakfast of champions! lol Ok maybe not, but i have one last day to enjoy myself with the holiday excuse before it’s back to eating healthy and properly again. :)
Sip down! Yay for getting through another matcha…..which of course just means I can open the last package of the order I made since another tin is free :) that also means by February I might be able to place another red leaf order to pick up all my favourites.
This one was a good one but I’d be more inclined to get vanilla and chocolate and just mix those two together for a similar taste. That being said, this is one flavour I don’t need to turn down ever :)
mmmmm playing some wow with my better half while sipping on multiple steeps of this one. great evening all around!
yeeesh….i dunno how i feel about this one yet. There are stores that I wake into and then promptly walk out of because they smell like potpourri. This tea smells like one of those stores. I’m not sure i can get over that smell to enjoy the tea. Apparently I’m one of the few that found this with this particular tea. I’ll give it a whirl and try it again maybe cold and see how it goes. But for now? I’ll just be having a few sips of this before i move on to another solid tea to clear my nose and mouth (loashan black maybe?)
