YYZ sent this one my way and i think, in reading other people’s notes why this one was not the tea for me – it’s like a darjeeling. And let’s be honest, those confuse my mouth :) the floral/fruity notes are not my preferred assam so this wasn’t a hit for me, but i’m glad to have tried it as this likely would have been one i would have been tempted to try myself heh. thanks a bunch YYZ!

yyz

It is much lighter, and seeing as it is one of the more expensive Assam options, I’m glad I saved you some money and gave you the opportunity to try something else:).

Sil

i VERY much appreciate it! :)

VariaTEA sent this one my way and this is a tasty one! I like grape like flavoured teas so this is a nice one to have. Appreciate you sending this one my way. i mean, i guess wine doesn’t always taste like grapes even if they come from grapes…this is more like grape versus wine but i am A-OK with that! As cavo mentioned, as this cools it turns a little bitter, but nothing undrinkable..just better tasting hot! :)

Roswell Strange also seemed to like this one best of the teas I sent to her which is funny because the only reason I have this is cuz it was free

Roswell Strange

Yeah, this one was awesome!

Stacy sent this one my way as a sample in my most recent order. I’m glad she did, since it wouldn’t be something i would leap all over. This is neither a roasty sort of darjeeling OR a green sort. it’s somewhere in the middle of all of that. :) i’m getting lemon and…hay? and it’s overall really sort of juicy. there’s no astringency and there’s a bit of a sweetness here that is really nice. i’m intrigued by this tea. May need to look at getting more of this to play with unless it’s gone before i can order again heh. I recommend trying this one out EVEN if you aren’t normally a fan of darjeelings. I find most darjeelings a little hard to drink with a few expections here and there. For me, this falls in to the latter category and this doesn’t remind me of your typical darjeeling.

Sami Kelsh

I love darjeelings, and this sounds so special!

Sil

I don’t really like darjeelings and this one was really tasty and interesting :) a win for sure!

farewell martha! You were great while you were around and now you’re gone. This is probably one of the few Adagio teas that i quite enjoyed, enough to hold out on finishing the tin even though it’s an “older” tea that was supposed to be trying to get our of my cupboard heh.

this was another from dexter I’ve reacently fallen out of love with Peach, which is funny because that’s the first “flavoured” tea i really gravitated towards. This particular peach isn’t bad. I like that it’s blended against a yellow tea, making it a little different than some of the others that i’ve had. That being said, while it’s a nice tea because i’m not in love with peach currently, it’s not a hit for me. HOWEVER, for those looking for a light peach tea, this one is pretty nice :)

Dexter

Sorry – I sent you a lot of peach…. not sure I realized you and peach had broken up. Will try to send you more variety next time. :))

Sil

Hahaha no no it’s all good. Fruit teas are generally ok…. It’s the green + peach. But it’s all good. I have an other half to make drink things too when I cold brew them

Stacy sent along a sample of this one for me to try :)

this is an oolong, which is not usually my faouvite, so bear that in mind. This particular oolong is halfway between a green oolong and what i call a roasty oolong. :) there’s a efeling of “green” to this one but it’s not over powering, while on the other hand there is also a more bread/nut like taste? it’s also got a bit of a juicy feel to it, though not like say a dragonwell :) Ont the whole, this was quite nice, though i’d rather see it in a blend than drink it all by itself :) Worth checking out for those of you that like oolongs!

drank Strawberry Meringue by Cornelia Bean

another from VariaTEA this one was also a miss for me, but not as badly as the previous one. There’s almost like a vague memory of strawberry here, and i’m not sure i’d pin point anything as “meringue” A fairly uneventuful cup of tea for me, but again, i dDO like trying teas! so thank you Variatea!

VariaTEA

I didn’t have high hopes for most of the teas I shared but I shared them because you had not had them before. Nonetheless, I am sorry they aren’t more enjoyable. This one in particular may have been better if Cornelia Bean added more than just two meringue pieces to the whole 50g bag.

Sil

haha i never mind… you never know what surprises you might find :) regardless i always appreciate the share!

Another tea from variaTEA to be honest this one was a miss for me. It just tasted like a bland black tea with some sort of vague flavouring. I didn’t really get maple or strawberry out of this one :( oh well, another tea of the list of ALL THE TEAS!

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
