3069 Tasting Notes
something about this one is just not sitting right with me. I feel like this is probably much better than it’s coming across for me. It’s a darker roasty type oolong without that familiar oolongy taste that i dilike in roasty oolongs..but there’s something in the background that i am just not loving. wish i could figure it out. Not rating this one since i’m fairly certain it’s just me.
soooo not a sipdown but OMG, i forgot how delicious and wonderful caramel matcha smoothie/milkshake type drinks are. I really wanted a milkshake today but that’s not really doable since i’m not feeling too hot and ian is sick. So i hauled out the blender, tossed a bunch of this in with some ice cream, milk and a frozen banana… soooo good. i think tomorrow i’m tossing in reese’s pieces in to the mix to see how delicious and wonderful that will be with the chocolatey peanuty goodness. mmmmmmmmmm!
sipdown! I’m trying to offset all the black and oolongs i’m drinking today with a few other teas (and water!) lol today is a great day for not leaving the house…a)it means i’m close to the bathroom and b) my other half is sick and i am fighting whatever he has. So i’m drinking LOTS of fluid and resting…which means watching bad tv shows and also doing a bit of work.
This is a light tea, slightly floral but not enough to push it over to the category that i don’t like, Thanks for the sample terri!
SIPDOWN! you know what’s fun? mixing up the teas you’re drinking even though they taste nothing alike lol oopsy… so anyway this tea? it’s slightly floral…a little grape like and with a bit of sweetner it’s like the memory of ice wine. Over all not a bad little tea that i’m glad i got the chance to try, though don’t feel the need to purchase :)
sipdown! I’ve been drinking this one this morning trying to figure it out. On the whole…it mostly just confuses me. I don’t dislike it, but it so isn’t the tea for me.
not a sipdown! I tried this one in because i wanted a bit of flavour, without having to look through samples that i didn’t set out last night lol. Overall, so far, i’m underwhelmed. I think i need to overleaf this a bit. Mostly it tasted like a green oolong. As it cooled, more of the orange started to come through but the almond side of this is missing. Luckily i have enough to make another cup in the nearish future to see if i can get it right and have a tastier cup!
sipdown! This is a nice yunnan. there’s almost a hint of smikiness to this that makes it slightly different than others i’ve had. It’s not sweet like the oolongs from this morning but it is on the sweeter side of things. overall a really nice cup :)
sipdown! i brewed this one alongside the other honey oolong from this company to be able to compare them in actuality rather than from memory… THIS ONE WINS. oh man…this has got the sweetness of the other one but there really is this caramely taste that accompanies this one. I actually would consider putting this in my cupboard… no idea how hard it is to get these teas here but i’ll have to look into it. thank you nofars and terri! yum!
sipdown! this is a really nice oolong. it’s a darker oolong but it doesn’t have the typical roasty flavour to it. Instead this is a sweet oolong – leaf hoppers always get me! there’s a bit of dryness left in my mouth when drinking this but over all this is a really nice tea!
sipdown! I am a fan of this one, though it’s not my favourite F&M tea to date. This is a good keemun, though I think i still really love the one from red blossom that i purchased a while back. I added some maple syrup as i always do to keemuns and let the flavours dance in my mouth. I really do love a good keemun.
(on a random side note…i so want the signature package of assam that twinnings does…it has an elephant on it. Stupid stupid unavailable teas/packages here in NA lol)
