Quick cup of this before heading out into the evening to enjoy the lights and scene that is our winter holiday christmas market :) Mostly it’s just an excuse for me and my other half to get out and spend some relaxing time together. I am starting to enjoy this a bit more than at first. The vanilla isn’t quite as strong as i’d like it to be.

Haha restaurant tea….sigh
At least I found a place here in Toronto that brews marriage frere so that’s on the list of places to go soon :)
Mobile phone sucks for tasting notes. Had this while out with my better half.
Mmmm this is a tasty tea! I actually really want to try this as a cold brew because i think it would be delicious that way. Thanks to Nicole again for letting me try this. I really think this is a nice smooth apricot black. I really like this straight with no additions to just let the black and apricots run through my mouth.
really nice!
HOLY MOLY this is liquid Candy Cane. Another sample from the ever generous Nicole I have to say, that i totally don’t mind this tea but man you only want to drink a little at a time because it really is like liquid candy cane. heh I enjoyed this one and it certainly put me in the holiday mood. The scent is 100% candy cane and the taste is no different :)
Thanks again Nicole!
mmmm thank you Nicole This is a tasty black. I think you’re right on the steeping parameters as i tried this for about 3 mins and it’s a little light. I’ll have to try again with a longer steep time. :) Still a tasty tea.
Thank you Nicole!
This is a really nice assam. it’s not as malty as say laoshan black but it’s got some rich undertones that i really find enjoyable.
Thank you Nicole!
So I was a little wary of this one because I am not a fan of floral/jasmine teas. However, it’s not often you get a jasmine tea with a black base so I was totally curious.
As it turns out, even with the black base I am just not a fan. However, setting aside my dislike of jasmine, I can see how this is is a pretty decent tea. It’s smooth though I’m having trouble identifying any “green” tea.
Thanks again for the sample nicole! :)
Mmmmm evening sip of lemony goodness while we game for a bit.
YAY for the 12 days of christmas Tea swap! I really need to thank everyone for participating in this as i think it’s going to be highly enjoyable. :)
Hats off to Autumn Hearth for this lovely package to kick things off. Custom tin with label to celebrate Day 1. When i read that this was a custom blend that included 8 treasures yabao i was a little concerned. It’s NOT my favourite Verdant blend. However! Since i’m not even sure I’ll enjoy my own tea (day 11) I spent the day looking forward to trying this out.
So I’ll be honest, I like this better than Verdant’s blend lol Though I have to admit the smell is a little hard to get over since it smells so much like 8 treasures. :) I will set aside a wee bit of this for Kittenna to enjoy as well as I think it might be a blend that she’d enjoy. The rest is mine though! MINE!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us Autumn Hearth!
This will have to do for a second “morning” tea until i can get home to try my day 1 tea! Still love this tea, as long as i keep the steeps short. One of these days i should try adding milk or sweetner and see what happens :)
mmm this is pretty darn tasty. Not a staple of Butiki but delicious nonetheless. it’s a bold cup with rich taste.
mmmmm delicious straight up caramel matcha! I really wanted to try my 12 days of christmas day 1 tea from our christmas exchange but since i know i won’t have time to pay attention to it at work today i’m opting to wait until i get home (soooooo far away from now).
Once again caramel matcha doesn’t fail to delight. I am loving the creamy caramel goodness that is this matcha.
this isn’t bad..but not as intense as i’d like the flavouring to be. 12 days of christmas starts tomorrow in our tea swap! YAY!
Finally got a chance to try this tonight.
So first off the smell is overly cinnamon! The coffee is more of an undertone to the scent and i could barely smell the cloves.
I’m not sure how long i steeped this..it got away from me. Steeped…i really can’t taste the coffee..instead this totally smells and tastes like red hot cinnamon hearts. I kind of think this would be good if steeped in alcohol…or made into a cocktail :)
Mmmmm I just love this tea. It makes all days go faster and so much better :) almost time to restock!
mmmmm so much chai in my cupboard and it’s still not exactly cold enough in Toronto to the point where i want to drink it all the time. However, as there’s not a lot left of this one, i opted to try and drink this one down in the next little while as i need to do some serious sip downs of a bunch of things assap. Mostly because there are 13 lovely teas sitting on my kitchen table waiting to be tried! I also want to do a few swaps in the new year to try out a few things.
This chai? still tasty and delicious. I really like the laoshan black in the chai – it rounds it out nicely so that it’s not too spicy and yet not “boring” either.
sooo delicious! I really need to place another red leaf order soon. I’m gradually working my way through most of the flavours i have and I think? i’ve got my favs narrowed down. it’s so hard though when everything’s soooo delicious! :)
I really enjoy adding just a splash of cheesecake to the black cherry matcha – it seems to bring out the cherry just a bit to make it POP!
No notes yet.
Back logging…..this was my morning wake up because I couldn’t handle a full on black lol. So glad I have 2 bags of this left :)
No notes yet.
I still think this is pretty tasty, though less so than before. Nice cup of this while we relaxed tonight. :)
I typically drink tea straight. No milk, cream or sweetener. But tonight, since we had some extra cream in teh house from making tea, I added a dash of it to this tea. Lt me tell you about how it brings out the delicious creamy notes of the tea. Mmmmmm soooooo good.
COLD brew! I’m pretty sure the only way i’ll get through this is as cold brewed tea with honey. It makes it a nice beverage, especially as I’m still sick/coughing. it’s just not a WOW tea given all the exposure i’ve had to wonderful other teas in the past few months thanks to all my steepster peeps!
