Another tea from this morning. Not bad, but nothing like previous harvests. I’ll be happy when this is eventually finished up.

i’ve had this a few times now and it’s just not the same tea that it was. I’m wondering if my taste buds have shifted or if this is just a new harvest from the first time i bought it. Will have to keep playing with it, but if it remains this way, i’m likely to pass this on to someone else as i just don’t love it like i used to.

When did you buy this one? I have one fr last July I love. I bought some in last December. I don’t think I tried it

spreadhseet says i picked this up in december :)

Ok. I should compare them sometime. So many times older harvests are better new ones :(

please do! i’m curious if it’s me or the tea lol

A year ago, this was my experience: http://steepster.com/looseTman/posts/257693. However, I don’t know when the very generous Scribbles purchased it.

July 2014, I purchased 250g of this tea due to my experience above. I enjoyed it, but unfortunately it was not as milk chocolatey as my original sample.

ZhengHe GongFu Black Tea – Jin Ping Village by Tao Tea Leaf
Per yyz:
“I like them both and find them really different animals. This one is like Cookies described really chocolatey and rich ( I have only had some Lapsang that were as chocolatey or more so). Whereas Tao’s tea reminds me a lot of one of my favourite jinjunmei with a deeper nuttier undercurrent. I would like to keep both in my cupboard. At its current prices buying from the producer this is a very affordable tea.”

- Has anyone tasted the 2015 harvest of this tea? Thanks!

Sigh… I guess I need to stop hoarding mine.

I really should pull this tea out more often. Every time i have it, i’m reminded of how much i like it. As a non black tea, it’s really refreshing without being vegetal.

tasty cup of tea this early afternoon. It’s not quite as strong as i’d like it to be, but does remind me of versions of this one from other companies. it’s smooth ant not a bad cup of tea.

I’ve had this one a couple times now but haven’t sat down to write a note. I’ve been working my way through it this morning and figured i should write something down. Let me start by saying this is a pretty bold tea right off the bat. First rinse was earthy and not too bad, but the first 30 sec infusion was REALLY strong…almost smokey earth but just a little too much for me.
(more to ocome)

I wrote that I LOVED steeps 9 and 10… maybe stay with it for awhile…. :)

oh i’m going to! just didn’t want to have the note sitting open while i kept at it haha

Another cup that i finished off this morning. I’m still trying to actively get to my sipdown goal by the end of the year, and I am behind. Limiting my purchases as much as possible is helping and i think i have a plan for my puerh which i should be able to work on in July, since i have a LOT of puerh samples that i need to get through.

I’m still crushed by the loss of special dark…it’s really made me less excited about tea lately. First butiki goes away….dragon pearl from mandala go away…now special dark….verdants 2014 harvest were lackluster compared to previous years….2015 so far seems to be a wet year which means buy and then don’t drink for a while… bah.

Farewell my delicious friend. I prefer the Yuchi to this one by a little, but this was an excellent tea to enjoy in my cupboard. Like most TTC blacks, it had that fruity, honey note going on that i thoroughly enjoyed.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
