5583 Tasting Notes
this was another of my teas from this morning. I’m trying to spend today just enjoying whatever i feel like drinking. I might even bust out more puerh if we don’t have to go over to friends. Still enjoying this one and i’m glad that after getting a little from dexter, i was able to pick up more for myself. This is my favourite black tea from river tea so far i think, as i generally prefer their fruit teas. :)
I’ve been drinking this one all morning while i had a lazy, slow relaxing restful morning. Watched a few shows since i was up early and let my other half sleep in. We’re supposed to go over to friends today when all i really want to do is sit at home watching bad or good tv drinking tea. It’s always the case after an overnight.
I adore this tea. I love the multiple steepings i get out of it, and the deliciousness of this. It’s sweet and smooth and had a lot of flavour going on – unlike most white teas that i’ve had. I know this will “turn in to a black tea” but it delivers everything that i love about the few white teas i’ve had that have been wonderful, without skimping on the fullness of the cup…if that makes sense. I’ll have to pick up more of this when i run out.
someone mentioned Lupicia on facebook tonight, so this was my other tea for this evening, as i haven’t had it in a while. I picked up 100g of this last time we orderd so i’ve still got plenty. It’s a nice reminder of “summer” now that the cool air of fall has been moving in. I really love how close this is to real honey dew :)
Final Count: 100
I tried this one out tonight…yes, i’m still awake! lol this one isn’t bad it’s not as dark chocolatey wonderful as MF’s mousse au chocolat or as chocolatey as i want it to be, but it’ll do. The base is nice, and for those looking for “organic” teas, this IS that. I kind of want to try this as a latte and see if the chocolate and the base come through the milk..more to come as i play with it! :)
100 baby! woot! lol Not that it means much since i have my order from butiki on it’s way, but i’m feeling better about missing an entire month of drinking tea. Better still, i only have ONE tea that is now older than 6 months (it’s at 7) and only 7 teas to get through this month to keep on track with that…it won’t happen but it’s nice to keep that in the back of my head when i’m drinking tea.
I really enjoy this one, but generally more as a latte than steeped in water. There’s something to be said about the extra creaminess from the milk versus the water. I’m finally done for the day, but i’m trying not to actually go to sleep until “bedtime” so that i don’t throw my sleeping out of wack. However, this tea as a latte….making me sleeeping and relaxed lol
This is my other puerh that i’ve been drinking for the other half of today. I’m not sure if i’ll have time for a third one tomorrow but we’ll see :) I’m still working my way through this one, hoping that i don’t crash heh. This was one i picked up the other day when misty pines was offering 2 for the price of one..so i nabbed it, so that i could have an extra for my tea sister terri!
Initial impressions are that this is similar to my favourite puerh from mandala but without the smoke. instead this is on the sweeter side of things. More to come later as i have more of this over the course of the afternoon.
I’ve been sipping on this puerh for a while today – figured it would help me stay awake and give me a chance to drink through a number of steepings. This was sent to me by Boychik a long while ago, but i haven’t had a chance to get to it yet. That’s the other reason i figured i should spend some time with puerh for this month’s overnight.
I generally did about 30 second steeps with this one and with the occasional longer steep. I don’t recall much beyond my initial surprise at the first steep of this. It was incredibly smooth and sweet…i couldn’t place the sweetness but it reminded me of some sort of fruit. On the whole, it was a really enjoyable experience.
