3078 Tasting Notes
oooooooooooh man! I had this earlier today and I am still thinking about it. I’m a little sad that this lot is sold out, so i’m hoping that the other version from Taiwan tea crafts is just as delicious.
soooo i figured out that this needs the longer steep, and as a latte, it’s totally worth it. I’ll have to try it again without milk, but this morning’s latte was exactly what i wanted :)
Longmire and tea, yes please. Enjoying a cup with Ian while we spend some time together tonight.
This is more like a softer version of honeybush…..there is a distinct vanilla taste exactly, but it’s not insanely honeybush like either. Appreciate the sample omgsrsly. I find that the steam teas are an interesting group of teas. Ive been enjoying the few that we’re sent my way :)
Well it appears that this is a tea i can get behind from culinary teas. It still wouldn’t be a staple, but at least i can get behind this one more than any of the others. There’s a creamy, buttery taste to this one and the base isn’t as harsh as the other teas i tried. It smells wonderful as well, just like a delicious caramel. hmmmm
another sample from kittenna! this one i had better luck with. it smells a little like those strawberry shortcake dolls…slightly artificial but not bad smelling. the taste is more like a green strawberry tea and not so very “shortcake-y” However, in comparison to the last two disasters for me, this is loads better. Still though, the base has a bitterness to it that i really don’t care for. oh well, better to sample than have purchased :)
sample from kittenna I’m pretty sure i dislike the base of culinary teas or something. This was another one that i couldn’t handle. the taste that was left in my mouth after i spit it out was decent, but the first impression left much to be desired. I’m steeping these fairly lightly too, so not too sure what’s going on. I appreciate the taste though Kittenna!
thanks kittenna this is pretty nasty. While i realise i accidentally let this cool down, i pretty much took a sip and spat it out. Not sure if it’s contaminated or something but it was bitter, astringent and not delicious at all :( ah well, can’t win them all!
Sipdown! (see terri, i AM trying even though i don’t normally achieve sipdowns through my work teas…) The last lonely cup of this one will also be going to a random swap partner to try out. I prefer the assams to this one, but the one reason i had wanted to try this was because i had tried a similar tea via butiki. Now, i can’t recall how that one tasted but impressions are good.
While it was nice to have this one, i feel like i’m better off not keeping it as a staple in my cupboard because there are others i prefer more. This is a tasty treat that i like, but it’s more of a rotate in from time to time sort of tea :)
sipdown! I tucked this into my travel mug today because it was very nearly a sipdown AND i wanted something lighter and refreshing today. Lighter while still clearly being a black tea. I have enough left for a cup, but i’m choosing to pass that on to a random tea swapping friend to share the Taiwan Tea Crafts love. :) This has been a delicious time drinking this one and #154…so not sure which i love more :)
