drank Cream by TeaGschwendner

I figured i should have this one before I get is over to Courtney in our swap. I picked this one up on a whime because they had a decaf caramel creme but no normal caramel creme. So i bought 50 of each, and figured i’d make my own at the least. Plus this way, i get three teas for 2 haha. I will need to play with this one a bit more because i only let it steeps for 2 mins, since that’s what Tea G. suggests. I’m wondering if steeping it a little longer will make it more bitter or just bring out the cream.
At least the cream flavour in this one tastes really nice. it’s subtle but it’s delicious. If this is what i can expect from the other few that i picked up from Tea G, then i will be a happy camper! Hope you enjoy it courtney! and if you don’t, that’s ok too haha

Count: 168…still.

drank Winter Nog by Della Terra Teas

i’m having this one along with a caffinated tea just because. I had a long day and so i’m trying to get some relax time in before i have to head to bed. I’m going to try and work from home tomorrow, in part just so that i can get some tea drinking in. I’m going to try and hit 155 this weekend, provided no packages end up arriving in the mail tomorrow. I have a plan of attack :) I’ll be good when this one is done, since a 1 oz bag is about as much as i need until next year rolls around. I like the creaminess of this one, but i could do without the stupid sprinkles

Terri HarpLady

sprinkles :ppppp

So i’m lazy..and have zero knowledge of anything going on out there in the land of herbal stuff…but every time i drink the new blend, I want more spice and ginger in it. I want it to be more like the first time i had this…

On a random Verdant tangent…not happy with the new rewards, even if i was hoping for different ones someday…but since i’ve had a 10$ coupon i can’t redeem for the glass steeper, and I don’t much need a sample. So my points will just sit there and accumulate.

Fjellrev

That glass steeper better be worth it, lest I be shaking my fists for not acting sooner on the $10 coupon.

Sil

i suspect coupons will come back eventually…

TheTeaFairy

I bought the first edition of their glass steeper, I absolutely love it!

Terri HarpLady

I also already have a glass steeper, from when the first came out! Such a lovely way to brew greens!

Regarding the ‘sample’, does anybody know if we actually get to pick what it is a sample of?

Sil

No idea…and i haven’t heard a peep via FB yet..

drank Yu Lu Yan Cha Black by Verdant Tea

So in a weird twist of something or other…i had this one again today. Guess what? No smoke…it’s back to tasting like the first time i had it. The only thing i can think of is that i changed up the steeping parameters a bit or there’s something weird going on with some of the leaves :) Still delicious, and I love it both ways..but it caught me off guard this morning when it was back to “normal” haha

Fjellrev

Oh weird. Not sure if ours is from the same batch, but mine was both smoky in flavour and smell. I ordered mine in August.

Sil

Mine was from June…says the spreadsheet, but like I said, its been smokey the last few times, unlike my first sample…and then today it wasnt.

Terri HarpLady

Could it be that you had steeped a smokey tea previously & the flavor was lingering in the finnum? I only ask this because I recall once mentioning that a tea had a cinnamon taste to it, only to realize that it had been a lingering taste in my brew basket from some previous cup.

Sil

nope…double checked that the first time i hit the smokey notes lol

So the bad news? This used to be orange and vanilla and had a much creamier creamiscle sort of taste. the good news? I still like it :) Though truth be told i really liked the vanilla/orange thing Herbal Infusions had going on with this one. I may have to see if i can find a way to replicate it. Dropping the rating a bit since the tea has changed, but it still generally tasty. :) Of course now this also makes me wonder if they’ve changed their cacao tea from when i fell in love with it…

I was wondering if they had changed it when I tried it. I was wondering where the vanilla was!

Sil

I really miss the vanilla but I’ll find a way…and keep you posted.

Mmmmm this is a happy herbal tea for me. Kittenna/Raritea if you hate this, just send the rest back my way haha Something about the blend of this one really works for me. it’s a juicy cup of tea..pineapple, papaya…blackberry…i like this one a bunch!

drank Caramel Popcorn by T by Daniel

Sipdown! One of the shared teas between Kittenna, Raritea and I. I figure since they were easy sipdowns, i should at least try to get those down tonight since i haven’t managed very many sipdowns, and word on the street is that there will be a package here soonish. This one smelled pretty darn good when we were looking at it. Sadly, upon brewing it, it’s sort of a weirdly black, sort of caramel ISH kinda tea that doesn’t really make me think of popcorn OR caramel. How sad…

So i’d forgotten that I’d had this one before courtesy of Terri. What’s more fun still, is that this is a MUCH tastier cup this time around. Apparently the last time i tried it via terri, i got all the coconute flavouring in the tea she sent. This time, it’s a much more balanced cup with both the vanilla and coconut coming through. Bumping the rating up, since it’s in this tin, it’s quite nice. It makes me curious though as to how consistent Adagio is with their creations. it’s possible it was the sample terri sent me, but sinceit’s not coconut bits, it’s the flavouring, how consistent are the varying incarnations of their blends? :) Anyway, i like this one much more this time around!

drank Ten by Custom-Adagio Teas, Cara McGee

Sadly…ten is a disappointment. It pretty much tastes like an average cup of black tea with maybe an echo of banana/chocolate. There’s not much there though, and it’s hard to tell that this is supposed to be a flavoured blend. sigh… how very disappointing. I love 10…but i don’t love this tea.

If you’re going to drink Amy…you really should drink her with Rory. This one might be my favourite of the blends so far, and not just ’cause rory makes me happy. I am a fan of the black/green vanilla with just a hint of sweet potato. Yep…i can get behind this one.

Terri HarpLady

That one sounds similar to the Bilbo Brew I was so in love with, also conceived by Cara McGee.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
