4041 Tasting Notes
So in a weird twist of something or other…i had this one again today. Guess what? No smoke…it’s back to tasting like the first time i had it. The only thing i can think of is that i changed up the steeping parameters a bit or there’s something weird going on with some of the leaves :) Still delicious, and I love it both ways..but it caught me off guard this morning when it was back to “normal” haha
So the bad news? This used to be orange and vanilla and had a much creamier creamiscle sort of taste. the good news? I still like it :) Though truth be told i really liked the vanilla/orange thing Herbal Infusions had going on with this one. I may have to see if i can find a way to replicate it. Dropping the rating a bit since the tea has changed, but it still generally tasty. :) Of course now this also makes me wonder if they’ve changed their cacao tea from when i fell in love with it…
Final count: 168
Sipdown! One of the shared teas between Kittenna, Raritea and I. I figure since they were easy sipdowns, i should at least try to get those down tonight since i haven’t managed very many sipdowns, and word on the street is that there will be a package here soonish. This one smelled pretty darn good when we were looking at it. Sadly, upon brewing it, it’s sort of a weirdly black, sort of caramel ISH kinda tea that doesn’t really make me think of popcorn OR caramel. How sad…
So i’d forgotten that I’d had this one before courtesy of Terri. What’s more fun still, is that this is a MUCH tastier cup this time around. Apparently the last time i tried it via terri, i got all the coconute flavouring in the tea she sent. This time, it’s a much more balanced cup with both the vanilla and coconut coming through. Bumping the rating up, since it’s in this tin, it’s quite nice. It makes me curious though as to how consistent Adagio is with their creations. it’s possible it was the sample terri sent me, but sinceit’s not coconut bits, it’s the flavouring, how consistent are the varying incarnations of their blends? :) Anyway, i like this one much more this time around!
I think i need to steep this one longer. I’m always a little wary of Adagio’s black so I tend to keep the temperature under boiling and the timing shorter. But i think with this one, i can steep it longer. It’s not a bad tea, but it’s clearly a chai ish sort of tea. Because of the under steep, it’s not as flavourful as i want it to be, but it isn’t a bad sort of taste. On the whole, trending towards being good. But i’ll rate this next time when i steep for longer!
Almost done this one! I am not having much success lately, sipping down teas but i am at least getting around to making more of a dent in some of my larger quantity teas, drinking older stuff and sampling things that i need to figure out if i like/don’t like them. heh This falls into the LIKE category, though i suspect i only need to be picking up a bag here and there as i tend not to drink this in summer. it’s a winter sort of cooler temperature drink for me :) still terribly yummy though!
mmmm morning tea from forever ago! I was cleaning up my cupboard over the weekend and realised that i had a small bag of this that i could tuck into my easily accessible teas even though it isn’t one of my older teas. I haven’t had this one in a while and was once again reminded at first sip, why i love Yezi teas. Just a delicious, smooth inviting black tea for this wonderful wintery day filled with snow!
