5800 Tasting Notes
I’ve been wanting to try this one for an eternity and cookies was kind enough to send a sample my way for me to try. turns out? it’s kinda like most of the other hojicha’s that i’ve tried. Same woodsy sort of taste that i rather enjoy, but certainly lacking any sort of caramel taste that i expected of this. It’s not BAD – like i said, i like hojicha…but i guess i just wanted more! haha thanks cookies!
Final Count: 80 (still not quite at 6 months old cupboard though…) bring it december!
cookies sent this one my way and while i’m not ever going to reach for a green tea over a black, i do enjoying trying things that aren’t my usual go to teas. This one strikes me as sort of an average sencha. It didn’t knock my socks off but it wasn’t bad. I think there are senchas out there i’d prefer more, but this was nice to try at least. thanks cookies!
YAY for tea from cookies this was a rather unusual tea from this morning.I’ve been busy organising things and um spending too much money on house things today. I enjoyed this one, though it’s different from other barley teas that i’ve had.
it’s roasty and sweet at the same time. closer to coffee than tea. it reminds me a little of some of the green teas that i’ve had when they’re a bit beany? kinda. overall just a really fun tea to try! thanks cookies!
dear god. I need to pick this tea up. It’s on my wishlist now. I’ve been sitting puttering on the computer and i kept smelling caramel…like the caramel that tea gschwewerjoe…makes…which was strange because i only brewed two straight teas this morning. Finally took a sip of this tea and it’s the tea! God. i’m in love with this. Another tea that cookies shared…it seriously reminds me of tea g’s caramel tea (which i love) but it’s not flavoured! the flavouring isn’t intensely caramel but this is for sure the only tea i’ve had where it’s this strong. usually i just get hints of it.
oh man…just got lost on the store…this might just push me in to my first aliexpress order…
mmmmm this is another tea from cookies who was generous enough to send me a few teas from a couple companies that i haven’t yet had the chance to order from, but want to.
this is a lovely tea. Something i’ll be picking up when i get to place my what-cha order. It’s smooth with a slight malty taste, with honey notes that come peaking through. I’m out of practice with drinking tea, so i’m not doing it justice..but this is really lovely. thanks so much for sharing cookies!
We got back this evening from our vacation – can i just say Jamaica was amazing! We lucked out with the weather too as storms rolled in this morning to stick around for the week. I tend to be a little ocd about unpacking, organising my life etc when i get home so i wanted a cup of tea that might get me to wind down faster and actually go to bed. Didn’t work very wellbut at least it was an enjoyable cup…sadly i think i forgot to order more of this with my last order…silly me!
Final Count: 83 (though that will go up and down before tomorrow is over! haha)
last cup of tea for the day, what with travelling and all, but another one from cookies She was kind enough to let me try and few teas from what-cha and Han Xi…
This one was intriguing because it’s another white tea, brewed hotter than i would normally for whites. I was curious as to whether this would be similar to white rhino or the other tea from Mandala that i can’t recall that’s a white that turns black. it’s similar, but in a totally different sort of way. Makes me wish i had white rhino to compare against…not that i can order that ever again sniffles
this tea is juicy and tastes….like flowers smell, but isn’t floral. if that makes sense lol there’s a bit of malt in this and caramel like notes…though not overly strong. a really nice cup to end my morning with. I’ll be adding this one to my cart when i get around to a what-cha order for sure…which is great because i’m not sure i would have otherwise since i’m not a fan of white teas!
