drank Pumpkin Ginger Spice by Traveling Tea

last tea of the day…. figured i’d finish with another oldie AND a goodie :) It’ll start warming up soon, so i need to finish this one up soon :) still my favourite pumpkin tea – love the ginger in here.

Final Count: 114

Fjellrev

Damn you, onto the wishlist this goes.

Sil

the woman who makes it uses real pumpkin from her garden. Terri bought us an entire pound last year…we’re both still working through it i think haha

Fjellrev

That’s amazing. Talk about local and fresh for Terri haha.

Sil

let me know, can always send you a litle.

mmmmm i need to have this one more often. I keep forgetting about the delicious vanilla cacao that this tea is. No woody rooibos here, just smooth tasty tea.

hello old friend. Nice to see you again. You’re a little more cigarette than coffee these days but still delicious. I’m glad you’ll be around for a while longer.

drank Caramel Pumpkin Cheesecake by 52teas

Also had this one later in the afternoon. Figured i should intersperse my tea samples with other teas that i enjoy to give my taste buds a break. It also looks like i get to go another round tomorrow with any luck as no one is working in the office tomorrow so there’s no reason for me to also go in. yaaaay! I do enjoy this version from the NEW 52 teas. It’s a different tea than the one i fell in love with but that’s not a bad thing here. A better base tea and this one is much creamier and more cheesecake while the first version was more pumpkin and spice.

Evol Ving Ness

This one sounds like a winner!

drank Vanilla Coco Loco by T by Daniel

Picked this one up at the toronto tea festival without trying it, based solely on the smell of the dry leaves – vanilla and coconut. So glad i took this chance. so good. I am a fan of this one, as long as i can finish it up before the coconut goes rancid. it’s smooth, creamy and there’s a good balance of vanilla and coonut – neither one truly overpowering the other. for a white tea, i’m happy with this one :)

sample from omgsrsly

This one is a pretty mellow sort of smooth and easy puerh. I’ve been drinking this one most of the day off and on. it doesn’t have a lot going on, but sometimes you just want a tea that can sit and hang out with you and not require all your focus an attention. enjoyable. thanks omgsrsly.

Another sample from evol ving ness (they’re non stop! haha) this one is weird. Pretty sure i don’t like it. reminds me of something they’d have at a spa. It IS calming, but it’s also…boring? slightly floral but not overwhelmingly powerful. well…i don’t dislike it.but i don’t like it. kinda minty? sort of. thanks for letting me try this evol, wouldn’t have tried this one on my own :)

Evol Ving Ness

It’s that tulsi thing that confuses the tastebuds.

Nineteen-02

Evol, once again, is right. The Tulsi isn’t for everyone, but it is a very interesting herb with some spectacular health benefits. Worth taking a peek at if you like tea lore at all; it goes way back in Hindu lore! Glad you got to try it, Sil!

Sil

i’ll try most things at least once! haha

Evol Ving Ness

I for one adore Tulsi. I came across it by chance and now seek it out in blends. I haven’t tried it straight up, but I quite like this one and others with heavy sprinklings of rose.

Nineteen-02

Next time you place an online order with us, Evol, I’ll toss in a sample of our Tulsi India Chai for you to try out. Really lovely herbal chai and one of my personal favourites, I think you might like it if you haven’t gotten a chance to try it yet.

Evol Ving Ness

Thank you. I’ll keep it in mind.

drank Romanoff by American Tea Room

yum. While the description says lightly smoked black base, i’d suggest they just take that descriptor off. There’s no smoke to be found here but there is a delightful blood orange flavour that is spot on. I really like how this one works – i can see this also being a tasty cold brew in summer with a little sweetner. thanks for sharing Evol Ving ness

Fjellrev

Funny, I most definitely got the smoke here!

Sil

haha maybe i have a higher tolerance? :)

Fjellrev

My tastebuds are also ridiculously whiny when it comes to just the slightest hint of smoke haha.

American Tea Room

its is a very light smoke – not like a Lapsang Souchong – and it is awesome iced – add a few Cara Cara Oranges and cold brew for an awesome treat.

drank Chocolate Blueberry by Thay Tea

not sure how i feel about this one. It smells heavenly. But brewed, there’s a bitterness hanging around the back of the tea that i’m not a fan of. A little sugar might smooth things out and make the flavours come together a bit more for me. it’s chocolate blueberry for sure, but i need to play with this one a little before i make up my mind on it.

drank Coconut Cumin Chai by 52teas
7761 tasting notes

So apparently i love 52’s chais :) This one is even better than the toffee bar chai imo. I don’t typically love a lot of coconut in my blends, but this is downright the perfect blend of spices to go with the coconut. Anoher sample from Evol Ving Ness the cumin and cardamom are lovely here. In a way i’m greatful that there isn’t any left on the website – yay for saving money but boo for not seeing this one again for a while unless it comes back as a reblend. At least i’ll know that i like it :)

Evol Ving Ness

Hurray for tea love!

Sil

so nommy.

Fjellrev

52’s newer chais do sound awfully delicious.

Sil

i haven’t loved many of the new blends from 52 teas…well at least in terms of dollar for value given our shitty exchange, but the chais are yummy…and nearly worth it (though sold out heh)

Fjellrev

Really wish there were a Canadian company that made intriguing chai blends.

Sil

there was one at the tea festival but they only did one kind…course that’s ALL they did.

Fjellrev

Hmm, the Victoria tea festival had Vastu Chai but it wasn’t terribly impressive. Guess the hunt for delicious, reasonably-priced chai continues.

Evol Ving Ness

The tea festival had two serving up chai. Their tables were right beside each other. I know because I sampled both to death. There is also Tea and Its Splendour with some enthusiastic and inspired chai blends there. I bought two.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
