8067 Tasting Notes
sadly the flavour on this one has faded. It’s not nearly as amazing as it was when i first picked it up – so the shelf like on it is probably ideally between 1-9 months. That being said, it’s still delicious but i’d rate this at about a 78 versus the original 90 in terms of intensity of the taste. I’m going to add some to the GCTTB so that others can try it before it totally wanes – just be aware that it’s a shadow of what it once was. I just have too much to be able to finish it all on my own in a fast manner heh.
Had a cup of this the other night to say goodbye to it. The last of this is off to be shared with tea friends! I still really enjoy this one, though my tastes have changed enough since i had my first sample of this, to warrant dropping the rating a little. It’s a tasty green, but there are others out there that are more reasonably priced and deliver some fantastic taste.
I wanted to try this one before i send out the box today/tomorrow so i’m working on sipping through this one now. I vastly prefer shou to sheng, but i’m always open to trying new teas in case i find that hidden gem that i love.
woke the tea up and then let it sit for a bit – these tiny bricks are fairly compressed.
Initial steepings of this one are quite nice. This is, so far, a milder sort of sheng – light on the vegetal sort of taste i don’t love – smooth and there’s a hint of sweetness starting to poke through. interesting to see how this plays out this morning
