3080 Tasting Notes
Great Canadian Traveling Tea Box I guess i’ll be consistent with Dexter :)
I am a fan of this one! I wish there was a little bit more lemon in it, but over all it’s delicious! This made me want to pick up a subscription to handmade teas, though I’ll likely want until christmas time just to give myself a chance to get my cupboard under a bit more control. I’m cold brewing the resteep of this just to see how it tastes as a cold brew!
This one is really tasty if you like Cardamom..which i do. so ha! It’s also making me really want some tasty chai now hehe. I really like the punch of this tea. there’s a sweetness here that is deliciously wonderful too. It looks like i may need to place an order with new mexico tea company sooner, rather than later since there are a few that have been passed on to me that i have enjoyed!
I opted to try this one even though i’m not a fan of yerba mate. Turns out this may be one of the few blends that it actually works for me. This is a really nice pumpkin blend and if you don’t mind yerba mate i can see how this could sky rocket to near the top of pumpkin blends. For me though, the yerba mate makes this less desireable. The spices are really nicely balanced in this though – so i recommend folks give it a shot if they’re looking for a good pumpkin blend. I’ll hold off rating this since i know i don’t like mate but for me this would sit around a 65 – so still decent.
Canadian Travelling Tea Box! (CTTB??) lol
This is one of the first teas i pulled from the teabox since i generally don’t mind hibiscus and i DO love orange. Verdict on this one? REALLY tart. I’m not sure how much of that is the assortment of pieces i got in my teaspoon but i would recommend NOT steeping this for 4 mins – i steeped mind for 3 and it’s very tart. I’m thinking a 2 mins steep of this would likely be the sweet spot for me. Overall, this isn’t a bad tea but there are other orange tisanes/herbals out there that i would prefer.
SIPDOWN! thank you terriharplady for this sample. I’m kicking off the morning with this one, and will likyl be coming back to it throughout the day to ground my tastebuds. I have a number of teas i want to try from the canadian teabox so that I can get it out the door asap.
First impressions: earthy, there’s a sweetness in the background, mushroomy almost.. more to come.
Edit: Still really enjoying this over the morning and afternoon…the earthiness is sliding in to the background and the sweeter notes are coming to the front.
backlog from yesterday. I’m sitting pretty with this tea as i’ve still got some of the spring harvest i’m working my way through and i picked up 4oz for myself when i placed a join order with cavocorax. So i’m indulging in this one way more often that i have been haha
mmmm back log from yesterday. still so very delicious
I figured since i was having purple rhyme today, i’d have red rhyme along side it just for kicks. this one is different from the other puerhs i’ve enjoyed from mandala…it’s smoother almost. more to come as i go through more steeps
I am digging this one. I’ve been drinking steeps of this over the morning in an effort to hold to my goal of getting through the samples that terri sent me of a variety of puerhs! Initial impressions, so that i don’t lose that is that this is a very creamy puerh. I’m going to toss the leaves to cold brew once i’m done with them just to see how that works but overall impressions of this so far is that this is just delicious!
Another one from cavocorax I’m not sure how i feel about this one yet…and i totally didn’t pay attention to steeping time. It’s got a honeybush woodsy, spicy taste to it. I like the orange and sandalwood flavouring….yep this is an interesting one. Different, not bad…and something i’m going to play with a bit and see where i end up feeling about haha thanks cavo!
