dexter sent this one to me – always interesting to try new things from companies. This one reminds me of an oolong. Little semi rolled balls and that familiar roasted oolongy taste. However, in this form, it’s not bad. the tea is smooth and tasty. Nothing i need to keep in my cupboard but i’ll enjoy my next cup when i have it :)

Dexter

Agreed – a little oolong ish – I found it to be really fruity if steeped western with a lower temp, quite a bit of leaf and a fairly long steep. Didn’t really love it at first but it’s growing on me. :))

Another one that I’m damn close to finishing which makes me a little sad. I know this one got a lot of hate from people, but for me it was a good summer time tea that was refreshing when i needed a little more than water and wanted that sweet/sour cherry taste.

This was another from yesterday. I’m enarly to the end of it so i erally just have to bite the bullet and finish it up. Now that winter seems to be coming around, that might actually be doable. It’s too bad verdant changed the formulation of this one – goji berries just changed this blend entirely from the way it first came out. that blend was a 90 ish in my opinion and the change made it less awesome. Not that it matters anymore, since they’re no longer doing blends.

6 days working from home/weekend with the rental dog over holidays = going to work to stop from going stir crazy even though the weather is full of freezing rain and gross. So teh tea, it came with me :) Today this was one of my three teas and nice to revisit since it seems likes it’s been a while since i had this one. Not as delicious as the first year, but not as terrible as last year’s version…so hip hip horray for improvements! :)

omgsrsly managed to get some of this for me and YAY because i adored franks walter bishop. This is a slightly different take on it and in my opinion, it’s not AS delicious. It’s delicious, but it’s not as wonderful as the tea i went through 3 pouches of heh. I had this one tonight as a latte, since that’s usually how i had the oher version of it. IMO not enough strawberry and too much of the honeybush flavour came though. Still a good tea, but it’s not my walter bishop.

QueenOfTarts

I agree! While I do think it’s tasty, it’s not as good as the original blend. I’m a bit bummed as I requested this reblend during the Kickstarter campaign expecting it to be as it had been in the past.

Sil

i think it’s the type of honeybush used mostly.

OMGsrsly

I really disliked the old honeybush. No matter what I did, it would taste sour. :/

Sil

i was totally ok with the old one…well at least until his awful reblend screw ups.

I switched suppliers completely because I wasn’t happy with the supplier that was being used previously.

My other tea from this morning. I figured since i wasn’t going to be home all day, i wouldn’t bother with samples, i’d just drink up teas that i have larger quantities of. I’ll try and get back to some samples when i work from home later this week. Still love this one, especially with a splash of maple syrup. so very tasty for an “everyday” sort of tea.

morning tea for digging in the woods. Ian managed to leave work early today so we were off to dig in the woods and build some more trail – my first experience and it was a good one. Especially satisfying to have cyclists come through and thank us for the build. Not sure it’ll be a regular thing for me but it was nice to get out, swing an axe…use a ho…dig a little and of course play with rental dog :) this tea was perfect for the cooler morning

vanilla coconut rooibos. mostly this is a creamy rooibos to me. it’s not bad..but it’s nothing to write home about. there’s nothing wrong with this, and for those who dislike that really woody rooibos, this tea is NOT that sort of rooibos. but i want more than just a creamy sort of tea when i make an evening tea :) thanks dexter!

drank Blueberry Merlot by Tea Forte

sample from omgsrsly this one isn’t too bad, but it’s not great either as far as blueberry teas go. it’s buleberry, but i wouldn’t call it merlot. And it’s not blueberry enough. still though, it’s not super sour which is typically rare in a tisane like this.

wishlist sample from dexter! this one was pretty tasty earlier today. I really love puerh and coffee and found this tea to be pretty damn tasty. As others have said, i didn’t really register the grapefruit exactly but the coffee came through as well as the cacao from the teas and the sort of maltiness blending things together. Enjoyed a few steeps of this before taking rental dog out for his hike in the woods off leash :)

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
