6653 Tasting Notes
all gone! I made the last of this as a cold brew and it’s tasty enough to almost make me want to go pick up more. Almost. cold brewed it reminds me vaguely of limeade concetrate…the stuff int he can that was frozen that you add water to? Yeah that stuff. Deliciously refreshing this afternoon as the other half and i tear apart the house some more….seriously, i can’t wait until we’re finally done with all this moving things around and have “house things” finished with.
mmmm i’ve been working on drinking this one this morning because i need to make a conscious effort to work on some of my puerhs. I have a number of “sample” sizes that i ordered eons ago but have either never tried, or tried once, loved and have been hoarding since. lol. This falls in to the latter category. I love this sheng. Yet another offering from Mandala that i am a fan of! :) So good.
Sample from kimquat I have to confess that i’ve been meaning to order from single origin teas since Nicole introduced them to me, but haven’t yet found the time in my tea ordering line up. I’ve had some amazing teas from them since, and a few less wonderful. This particular one for me, falls somewhere in the middle. There’s nothing here to really knock my socks off taste wise, but it is a smooth sort of cup that i’d welcome as an every day sort of tea. There’s a little drying to this one, but it’s not overwhelming so i don’t mind it. A good solid cup of tea to start the day earlier today.
I’m lazy this morning so to recap on yesterday’s other teas…
-bailin gong fu (the last of the sample from kimquat thank you again!
-watermelon lime slushie – not quite a sipdown unless TERRI tells me she wants to try this one
-after dark – sipdown…100g in 5? months…not too shabby. latte style and so good.
-Laoshan black infused with vanilla + cacao – OMG so freakin’ good yesterday. ie. perfect.
Final Count: 97
This was my puerh for the day. I may try and see if i can another one in later this evening, but if not, this one has been fantastic to drink over the course of the morning/afternoon. I am really a fan of Mandala’s original cakes. There’s something incredibly satisfying about them. I’ll be picking this one up again.
