6311 Tasting Notes
tea from cavocorax i might be trying to sneak in some easy sipdowns today before we head off to winterlicious tonight. I caved and ordered 3 puerhs today from streetshop88 which means i’m in even more trouble as far as my cupboard goes. On the upside, they likely won’t be getting here anytime soon LOL
This is a tea that i can get behind in theory… it’s making me want to bust out my non existant blending skills and make a smokey, orange, vanilla tea. Sadly this is an adagio blend so it smells like orange and smoke and delicious..and then tastes like 99% of every other black based adagio fan blend. blech. :( At least i tried..and it HAS given me inspiration!! so still a win in my books!
Cavocorax and i split this one at the tea festival. As i was pulling this one out to brew it, i realised that there was a bunch of granules in the bag that i hadn’t remembered seeing when we divided the bag. When i looked at the ingredients though, i suspect that these are the palm sugar. i brewed this up anyway, though as i suspected it’s a little too sweet for my tastes. I made it in latte form to add to the creaminess but the sugar is a little much. I may see if i can filter the sugar out of the bag. Cavo – if you try this and it could benefit from some sugar let me know hahaha.
Overall though, not a bad cup, and one i’ll likely to keep brewing as a latte. It’s a nice coffee/tea blend as far as coffee/tea blends go. I’m not the worlds largest fan of that sort of thing, but it’s a nice thing to have occasionally!
this is a weird tea. lol Another from MissB’s adventures and one i was curious given that most pineapple teas tend to be greeen/oolongs. this is… not a tea for me. it’s not at all like i want it to be when someone says pineapple..and there’s a weird spicy? note to this one that confuses the heck out of me lol. Still though, fun to try and maybe one of the girls will have better luck! lol
cavocorax sent this one my way as it was on my list of teas to try. I can see how people are comparing this to WP’s GO. It’s very similar though different too. I can see keeping this one in my cupboard though, especially with the decline of the cad dollar. It’s a flavoured tea…not not on my ZOMG must have list…but this is a good vanilla tea. Quite nice. Thanks a bunch for sharing cavo!
oh dexter. can we buy more please? when you get to being allowed to buy more? I pulled this one out randomly today because i always try to take time for at least one puerh when i work from home because even if it gets busy, i generally have time for a few steeps in between meetings. Today i christened my new pot that i picked up from the tea festival with this one. I’ve only had a couple steeps so far, so more to come if life doesn’t get busy..but i really love this. It’s rich. i have no other way to describe it.
it’s smooth…and deep…and rich…and just downright satisfying.
sneaks over to ebay
Another from dexter this one is a really smooth brew with lots of chocolate notes. This of course falls in to that comment dxter made a while back – about how many of a certain kind of tea do you really need? lol I quite enjoyed this one this morning and it makes me curious to try more es green teas if this is what they are selling. Thanks again for the sample dex!
mmmmmm delicious! working from home today so i’m trying at least a couple of the samples dexter sent my way since i have time to enjoy them…sort of haha
there are malt notes in this tea and some underlying chocolate notes that are very faint i had a couple steeps of this one and it was thoroughly enjoyable. This would be one that i would consider picking up if i place an order through streetshop88 :)
….aaaand that’s a wrap! this is officially all gone from my cupboard and no reorders allowed until i meet my goal as per the agreement dexter and omgsrsly and i made! I’ve got a looonnng way to go before i can order again so i’m doing my best to try and get at least one sipdown in a day… this one will be a restock someday as i love it.
Final Count: 143 (two things to pick up from mail jail tomorrow though…)
i had this one today because it’s one of my oldest teas in my cupboard (7 months) and i’m nowhere close to being somewhat close to a sipdown. not that i want to get rid of it, but i can drink it and enjoy it and not worry about it being gone in a flash! i still really like this, even if it’s not the same as the first harvest i fell in love with.
