6828 Tasting Notes
slow tea drinking day today…lots to do this weekend so trying to take it easy and get ready for packaging up some swaps and such :) while i have loved this tea in the past, this harvest still isn’t my favourite. I’m hoping that 2015 is a better year for my fav teas…though i was looking at verdant’s site and it looks like prices are going up AND the tin options aren’t currently available. makes me a sad panda.
noms. Another tea from Paris. I did my best to try and pick up one or two herbals while i was there since i knew i was short on evening teas for when i didn’t want caffeine. this is a really nice fruity, caramel blend. there’s some hibby in here, which has never bothered me so i’m ok with that :) there are vanilla notes here too…which soften the fruit and make it a really nice summer sort of tea.
mmmm so one of the best parts about working from home occasionally is that it lets me get out some of the teas that either require more time and focus from me (puerhs, i’m looking at you!) or teas that don’t taste nearly as delicious in a travel mug. This is one of those teas. I LOVE this tea…lime, marshmallow goodness but travel mug just makes it less amazing. I’ll be sad when this one is all gone.
So…while i was in Paris, this was one of the teas that i contemplated picking up from the Fauchon store because you could get it outside of a tin purchase. For some reason, i opted not to (i’m guessing it was the other 3.5kg that i’d already bought). So when i returned home and saw that MissB had thoughtfully included some of this in her last package i was SUPER excited. So much so that it was picked to be brewed this morning, even though it’s decaf and i could have had it in the evening. I was just super excited to try it and see if this was a regret.
It is. haha. I won’t cry over not picking more up, but I wish that i had. This is a really nice cocoa/raspberry/caramel tea..and it’s decaf! The bear shaped sprinkles in here don’t even annoy me like most sprinkles do.
