15061 Tasting Notes
Lemon? Check. Vanilla ish sort of flavour? Check. “Cake”? not really. this is really just a lemony tea to me. Maybe with a little sweetner added this would be more cake like but it’s missing that sort of heavy, cakelike, dropping with icing sort of feel to it. It DOES hit the intense lemon aspect of pound cake on the head though. Do i love this? eh, it’s decent…certainly don’t need more outside of my sample though. :)
finished up the last of this one from the bag that i had, now i just have another 86grams to go in the tin that i treated myself too when i placed this order. Still really enjoying this one, though it’s more a winter tea for me than spring.summer. heh
This one has been at the top of my wishlist for nearly a year. Happy to see someone sipping it! Have a favorite Bellocq I should try when I order? I purchased a sampler several years back in a little beach town shop which served as my Exodus into the Land of Tea but have only purchased gifts from them since. Next time I indulge an order, it’s back to Bellocq.
There are a few others i love… no 61. keemu in particular. That being said i have a bunch in my cupboard that i haven’t tried yet because im using them so hold off on purchases. when i get a hankering for new teas, i pick one to open and start haha
pulled out tea this morning from dexter Not in my cupboard as it’s from her “tea guy” :) this was 2013 zsxz that i’ve been hoarding since i wasn’t all that impressed with the harvests last year. Hoping for a better year this year. looking forward to the fall harvests heh.
almost done this one. Sad to see it on it’s way out but also happy to see another sipdown. 2 more weeks until i get to add to my cupboard, so i’m looking forward to that!

Ever4y bit of tea used is a bit more gone…even without the cupboard # going down right away ;). Gotta remind myself of that too!
it’s hard…esp when you just want a low number haha. that’s why i have a monthly weight goal AND a monthly number goal.

Good plan! I try and focus on using particular teas up by a certain time (i.e will use up X blend by the end of next week, etc). I know I’ve mentioned this too but I really want to focus on getting the majority of my cupboard 6 months or younger.
yep. slow and steady! haha i’ve only spent like 55$ in 4 months, which is UNHEARD of for me, because i’m trying to “reset” my cupboard. great for my budget, but i’m starting to want my staples back as i finish them heh
this one is finally starting to show it’s age…mostly in the “more cigarette” than coffee aspect. still fun to drink, but it’s a little tastier with some milk in it, which is something i really only do for this tea (or when making a latte) heh. Almost out of this one though, so that’s “good” in the sense that the flavourings are changing. I really do miss Stacy’s teas a bunch. sigh
Had a cup of this to start my morning out ever so long ago. I’ve been busy the last little while so i haven’t had much time to tea log. I don’t mind this tea, but it’s not my favourite. I think i’ve said that before. It’s a perfectly acceptable tea – even good for an average every day tea, but it doesn’t hit the mark i want in a keemun. Still love that genuine tea offers free shipping. period. Will have to check out a few more of their other teas at some point and see if there’s magic there :)
Hmm, I’ll have to try it. Too bad about the absent cake note.
Hot or cold? I’m interested to play with my sample, what with all the tasting notes popping up as of late.
hot for me. i don’t generally like oolongs cold brewed. at most i’ll brew hot and let cool.
