So busy lately. Really haven’t had a chance to sit and relax since we got back between work, wedding planning and my other half trying to kill himself while riding – that was a fun hospital trip. What have i been drinking?

Red Queen Cupcake
Laoshan Black + Cacao
Yu Lu Yan Cha Black
Salted Caramel butter oolong
zheng shan xiao zhong smoked wuyi black
pure bud
Spring Keemun
Mousse au Chocolat
Gao Shan High Mountain Black
Rocket Fuel

Im so sorry. is he alright ?

yeah – was wearing his helmet so no damage there, but he’s out of commission with the one arm – lots of soft tissue dmg and almost fractured his scapula. Means another 2 weeks of not working, so he’ll be bored in no time.

Mostly he just scared me

Wow… I’m glad he’s ok! I hope he heals quickly.

Glad to hear he’s ok!! Arnica to the rescue lol

drank Lime Blossom by Dammann Freres

I need to start working on some of the tea bags that i’ve picked up via swaps, travelling tea boxes, MissB and my travels. This is one from my recent trip that i grabbed from the hotel room. Gotta love random DF tea bags every day :)

This likely would have been one that i might have thought about picking up and i’m glad that i didn’t. this is less lime and more “woody” than anything. Nice that it’s a herbal but in the grand scheme of things if the tea has the word LIME in the name of it, i expect full on lime flavour…even from a fancy french tea :)

Final Count: 129 (+various tea bags)

Not sure which lime you meant. Lime is such a confusing term in English. In French this is tilleul, and lime the citrus is citron vert or some thing like that.

You probably meant precisely the non citrus lime but just mentioning it just in case. Lime blossom is crazily floral IMO when they bloom end of spring it is amazing a tree perfumes a whole block. But the tea never quite gets that. It is a proverbial calming tea.

that makes a LOT more sense :)

Lime trees, linden trees, tillia cordata, not citrus something. Linden is a very traditional tisane in Europe.

Also randomly connected, in french bourbon when applied to food means vanilla, not whiskey!

Bourbon i was aware of, but the lime is new to me. nice to learn things!

man..only one more cup of this left. It’s a little sad for me since this is fantastic in the summer as a cold brew after cycling. Still though, it’s nice to be close to getting a little room back in the cupboard haha

Another tea from this morning – i’m still enjoying this one, though i was lazy today – choosing to brew it western with a longer steep. Still a smooth, average puerh. nothing spectacular, but nothing to complain about either. Just trying to drink some of my older teas before an afternoon ride in the sun!

i love this tea. I usually steep this western for a full on taste delight. It’s smooth, sweet and cocoa-y. Perfect morning/afternoon tea. I’ve been up for so long today i can’ hardly believe it’s only almost 2pm. eesh! so much to do, and yet so much time still to do it!

drank Thé du Loup by THE O DOR

I have been dreaming about this tea. Cteresa and i swapped a year ago? And this has been on my wish list since then. I’ve searched for suppliers in the US and Canada to no avail and so when i had the chance to restock this one, 200g came home with me. For me, this is the perfect chocolate/hazelnut tea. You can still taste the base…the flavours are subdued but not so much that you can’t spot them instantly. I was terrified that i’d get this home and hate it…but i don’t. I love it. So thank you again Cteresa for sharing this one with me so long ago!

(on a side note for those looking for the o dor….they are apparently opening 4? more retailers in the US and are looking for this first in Canada. I had the opportunity to speak with one of their distributor folks at the launch of their tea in paris. She’s supposed to email me a list which i’ll share if she sends it along.)

Did they say where in Canada?

They’re not sure yet. If she sends me the list, i’ll post it on the forums. We joked about ME doing it :)

Did they say where in the US they are opening retail stores?

they did but i don’t remember – but i’ll post the list if she sends it to me. If she doesn’t, i may email the store and ask the woman i spoke with to get the info for me if she can

I would personally like to see them open something in Nassau County or Queens. Much easier for me to get to than Manhattan.

Don’t they ship? I put together a mock cart and it looked like they would.

They do. I just vastly prefer to be able to either GO to the store, or ship within North America. :)

That’s a relief, I’m looking at them next. I don’t see us going to Paris any time soon, since when we go overseas it’s always to Denmark.

oh, so glad you got it! I do love it, as does my family, was trying to restock recently but not much luck. Maybe they will have more resalers here soon as well.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
