mmm sad to see this one going, but glad that i had the chance to pick up these teas from JW for myself. They’ve been a great addition to my cupboard and will likely be back in the future. Once I get through a few more of my teas.

Indigobloom

LOL you drank two out of the three from them in their current offering that I didn’t buy this weekend :P

this has been my afternoon puerh for the day. I still have a mountain of puerh that i need to drink up as well as share with omg and dex and terri, so I should get cracking on that. this is smooth and delicious. so good.

mmm noms. tea with a kick and a little cinnamon. I love this tea – it’s not as insane as something like kaphaa but it’s nice to have a tea that gets your mouth dancing :)

Love it when your mouth dances ;)

I always forget i need to brew this one longer than normal. If i don’t, then the toffee and chocolate flavours are a little subdued. I am glad i picked this one up in Paris, though i wish it was a black base, versus oolong. At least it’s an oolong variety that i can get behind :)

noms. Enjoying this one again today since i need to get to 100 if i want any orders this weekend AND because it’s close enough to LB that it’s like a treat today. I need enjoyable drinking things since it’s operation “tear the house apart.” We’ve been putting off going through things in the house with the intent of getting rid of things we haven’t used in years and i’ve put a deadline for us of Dec 15 – when we start dog sitting for three weeks. So everything is going in to piles – keep, donate and trash. 900 CD’s? DONATE! (after making digital copies of them all…) etc.

OMGsrsly

Dog sitting for THREE WEEKS?! Haha. Man, I need your guys energy. I need to do the same since they’ll be replacing all the plumbing in my apartment.

Sil

hahaha i figure it’ll be a good way to keep me leaving the house and getting exercise – i tend to hibernate in colder months, as evidenced by my step count being waaaaaay down. :(

OMGsrsly

Oh yeah. You guys have that weather thing you deal with out there. I’m just hoping my feets stop hurting and I can start walking again.

Evol Ving Ness

THIS is just the kind of inspiration/motivation that I need. Well, without the dog component. As for CDs, take them to Vortex Records and sell them. They’ll buy classics and resell able ones.

Sil

Thanks for the recommendation! It’d be nice to get a little money for them even if it’s like 1$ a pop.

OMGsrsly

I need a place that will take CDs that don’t have the cases. I have so many, but ditched the cases ages ago to make them easier to move. :/

Sil

haha my cases all exist. i refused to ditch them because LINER NOTES! haha i was a dork

Kristal

Good plan! I have 2-3 things I need to put on kijiji myself. Plus, I’ve been using up any tea that I’ve bought before 2015.

Sil

heh my tea goal has always been to have a cupboard that is at most 6 months old… but i’m settling for a year old – though ignoring puerh, i’m generally at an 9 month old cupboard.

Kristal

I agreem Sil. My oldest teas are maybe just slightly over 1 year. I agree that I want most of my teas to be 6 months old or less :)

Sil

doesn’t work so well when you go to paris and buy 3.5kg of tea lol

Kristal

haha that’ll throw a wrench in the system ;)!

Evol Ving Ness

Sil, they’re pretty picky about the ones they’ll buy. You might want to call them to fact check. I think you might need to make an appointment to resell as well as it can be a time-taking process.

brewed up my experiment today so see where it’s at. Mostly, not enough vanilla, but at least you can tell that the vanilla has softened the smokiness out. there’s a little sweetness there too. Will have to give it some more thought.

pulled this one out today because i figure i should maybe get through drinking it before it’s spring again haha. Not much to say beyond the fact that i’m still enjoying this one.

purging things from the house in an effort for us to get more organised, have few “things” and be able to focus our energy on doing things. This was one of my teas this evening since it’s close to a sipdown :) No black friday purchases for me until i can get to 100! haha

Fjellrev

You’re oh so brave for holding out until you make your goal. I would have been like, “Screw it, good enough. It’ll be under 100 by the time the teas even get here, yo.”

Sil

haha it was only 8 teas… and i’ve essentially got all weekend. Had to stick to it since my goal for the year was 50, but because we made that trip to Paris that was pretty much game over (3.5kg of tea will do that). So now i’m at least aiming for 75 which is what i managed to get to last year…

Kristal

Good for you for sticking it out! My hope is to get to 30-something teas by the end of the year. Right now I have 55 + 5 teas coming for DAVIDS in the mail. Luckily, most of the 55 are samples!

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
