7609 Tasting Notes
i tried this one out today – i’m working on blending this with vanilla and it’s been sitting for a while now so i wanted to see if i need to do more with it. The smoke has for sure been smoothed out with the addition of the vanilla but it’s not nearly as vanilla-y as i want it to be. I kinda of also really wish i had caramel to add it it because smoked vanilla, caramel sounds delightful to me. Not a bad cup, but need to let it sit some more.
on that note…buttermilk biscuits + smoked rhubarb jam = best time ever!
I pulled this one out this morning since it’s been a while since i tried it. This always surprises me because it’s a ceylon. there are some chocolate notes in the baseline as well as a little bit of maltiness. Nothing compared to my other teas, but it makes this a really interesting tea especially because it’s different.
Another one from last night. This particular batch has a lot of cinnamon sticks, so i pulled a few out. The brew is slightly different than i’m used to – i think maybe this was from the bottom of the batch. Still though, it’s tasty and i still love it. Someday, i’ll get sick of it….but until then…bring it! :)
Final Count: 118
Warning, this is a strong tea – brewed hot it’s very strong and sugar is a requirement to take the edge off how strong it is. with just a little sugar, the brew smooths out and becomes a really nice juicy brew. I think brewed cold, you’d have the same problem – you’d need to add sugar. But otherwise i think this one is pretty decent.
