6492 Tasting Notes
Another sample from Nannuoshan….this tea was on my wishlist so i was SUPER excited to get it as part of the samples that were sent out to folks. Funnily enough, i was excited to try it because of the smokey notes that people were finding…but when i had this, there were none to be found for me. Instead, i want this tea to have tea babies with me. Seriously…I have NO idea if this would taste as amazing brewed western, but while the aroma of this one is pretty bleh…tasting it was like a party in my mouth. i could not get enough of this tea. In fact the leaves are sitting there waiting for me to come back to them to make sure i’m not imagining things.
This was oh so deliciously chocolatey and malty for me. Now i’m on tea hiatus, but i DID go look on the website to check out the price and bookmark is..and it’s not there! So confused…where has it gone!! Because seriously? i want more… MOAR!
Edit: NM it’s there i’m just blind.. lol
oh man. This was a sample from nanuoshan – thank you SO much for tyhe opportunity to try some of your teas! Honestly, i think if i hadn’t tried this along side one of his other offferings, i’d have been over the moon with this one. First off, the aroma of this one is amazing….i poured it and was like OMG is that the tea!!!
That being said, this doesn’t taste like the aroma haha. It’s stilla lovely tea but funnily enough, while the smell is like a sweet caramel, the taste is more like a creamy, fruity, slightly cocoa like tea. There’s no smokiness to be had in this one. I brewed this one gon fu – with probably the latter steeps being my favourite as the tea really started to have that heavier feel to it. Initial steeps were almost creamy in their lightness. Overall, this is a nice tea and i’m curious as to how it would lend itself to a western brew. I may just pick some up in the future to check it out!
last cup of yesterday evening so now the real fun can begin haha. I pulled this one out because i was craving it…there’s just something about this blend that makes me squee in delight. I can’t even explain it lol. omgsrsly sends me refills of this, but at SOME point i may just have to start buying it since i seem to be drinking through this relatively quickly haha.
Final Count: 150
this was one of my last teas from last night… I’m trying not to run through all my herbals since i’m on tea hiatus, but at the same time, i love those evening cups of tea that are delicious that i can enjoy without worrying if THIS TIME, the caffeine will affect me…since it doesn’t always. Still love this one after however many zillion times i’ve had it….need the longer steeps to really make it slightly spicy AND citrusy all at the same time!
This one from stacy is really interesting. I’m not sure where i land with this one…. it’s coconut and strawberry…with a bit of a nuttiness. I am enjoying this one a bunch…but i think it falls into the same spectrum as the pumpkin cheesecake one…i’ll drink it, and enjoy drinking it…but i don’t love it like it’s out of this world amazing and would trade for the few that i DO love out of this world..if that makes sense :) Still though, a really nice cup.
this tea has made me super sad. I love stacy’s bana flavour..and yet with this one i’m getting awhole lot of oolong..with only an after taste of banana…. and while there’s a bit of a sweetness there…it isn’t butterscotch to me…or walnut. le sigh. At least someone else out there will love this i’m sure!
mmmm tasty tea from Dexter Since this year will be the year of Canadian companies…who let you buy in CANADIAN DOLLARS thank you very much, we’re trying to get through as many samples of teas as possible from various companies. this one is a deliciously tasty black tea. it’s a little floral like but it’s also sweet..not honey leafhopper sweet, but still sweet. This is a tea that is lighter…but not lacking in flavour. Overall another enjoyable tea from Camelia!
Another share from cavocorax which was great because it let me NOT place an order with tippy teas, and still get a chance to try out a couple. Now i know that an order will be placed in future…once i get my cupboard under control! This is a relatively nice black tea. Nothing crazy out of this world, but it’s nice and smooth, with a little bit of heft to it so that it’s not on the wimpy side of things. There’s a little bit of maltiness here but not overwhemlingly enough for me to be like WOAH MALT TEA! :) A nice afternoon cup!
i love this. I don’t get a lot of the pistachio toffee flavour but the orange in this is FANTABULOUS! I didn’t add any sort of sweetner to this and the orange just made me melt. I confess i drank most of this cold because it sat while i was doing some things, but i have high hopes for this hot, with just a teeeeny bit of sweetner!
opted to try this one today. I’ve had a few yellow teas before and only one ever knocked my socks off. I’ve been searching for a similar one ever since. This one is pretty good. It’s got a delicious fresh and juicy flavour to it, while not falling into that trap of tasting like a green tea. Yep..even as this one cooled, it was just really tasty and delicious! I’ll likely pick this one up again since it’s the closest i’ve come to finding that one yellow tea i loved.
