7848 Tasting Notes
noms. Western brew of this one for a treat. this one does more for me than the art of darkness. Vanilla and cocoa in the first steeping – looking forward to seeing what the ther steeps hold.
edit: second steep wasn’t as awesome as the first, so next time may just go straight to a 5 min steep :)

I’ve been sipping on this puerh all morning and in light of the fact that i can’t get it anymore, i didn’t take super detailed notes. dexter sent this one my way and i’m always happy to try out more shou’s. this one had an earthy aroma initially but it lessens over the steepings and takes on a more subtle taste. The brew is smooth and extremely pleasant.
Chocolate, caramel, toffee, cereal..what’s not to love? Pretty sure this is more oolong than black tea, or a blend since it always does much better at lower temps, but i seem to have that figured out. I like the spice/cereal notes in this one that blend with the chocolate and caramel. it’s more bready like than caramel chocolate but it’s still delicious
This is going to be an interesting weekend. Release weekend means i’m up a whole lot, and will be drinking up teas. I’m going to try and get through some of the teas that aren’t in my cupboard (teaguyteas!) as well as some of my puerh samples. Started off this morning with a jin jun mei from dexter and i’ll probably try and get to a few more from her today/this weekend so i can get the teas not in my cupboard sipped down so i can work on my January goals for the next 2 weeks. :) enjoying this one so i might slowly be coming over to the jin jun mei side haha
probably my favourite of the holidays teas this year from 52 teas, though before trying them, i would have sworn it would be the peppermint hot chocolate one. Something about the orange of this one and the addition of spices. I could do without the cranberry, but they do add to the blend, rounding things out nicely. I still need to try this one cold brewed though, so i should do that sooner rather than later!
Another tea from today – i really enjoy this one from August Uncommon. That’s not to say that i don’t love their other teas, but this one is very much malt and library with a little dab of chocolate. the caraway isn’t extreme with this one, so its a well balanced cup of tea in my opinon, even if it isn’t as rich and indulgent as passage du desir. Still a fan of this one, and glad i picked up a tin!
i think i forgot to add this to the boxes that went out to omg and dexter (and terri but i’ve already started a second box for her…) That’s sad as i think that this would be enjoyed by them but might just get finished up before i get around to another package. Unless…. mwahahaha ok so anyway, i digress. I am enjoying this one a bunch. It’s a rather decent every day black tea with just a little bit of special to make it a little more than that lol. I don’t really know what else to say that hasn’t been said before heh. Noms.
nope. NOPE. nope. this is weird. I thought it wouldn’t be too bad, but there’s something in here (omg says licorice) that makes this sweet and weird tasting. it starts out as a decent sort of herbal, hibby blend and then it’s just…nope. something about it just turns the blend for me….oh there it is. ingredient listing online says licorice root. BOOOOOOOOOO! no one seems to be able to balance it in blends these days, which is unfortunate because in small doses, i don’t mind it.
