drank Doudou délice by Les Jardins de Gaia
6614 tasting notes

another from MissB and i’m going to side with her on this one. For me this was a giant cup of rooibos without a lot of flavour. it wasn’t woodsy rooibos but it was unmistably rooibos…with a little side of sweet and not a lot of anything else. boooo. However, on the plus side this brings my cupboard down to 155 even with my addition to the cupboard today as i was able to swing by David’s tea and pick up some key lime before it’s gone for good. heh.

Final Count: 155

Heh. Doudou sounds like my french alter-ego :P

Doudou means “Darling” in French creole and we often use it in France as a nickname for children or between husband/wife. this is very sweet

I don’t seem to mind hibby as much as some people so i actually quite enjoyed this cup of tea tonight. While i didn’t cold brew it, i did have it both hot and cold and found it to be fairly tasty with just a pinch of sweetner. I’m not sure that i’d buy this one, but it was a tasty cup to go with awesome dinner tonight with the other half!

drank Lemon Zest by Joy's Teaspoon

this one is very similar to the other lemon tea i pulled from the gcttb yesterday but this is a rooibos base and less creamy :) i think i prefer the other one just slightly but this is a pretty delicious lemon herbal. No woodsy rooibos here, just lemon goodness!

wow. another from MissB and i have to say this was like a trip down memory lane to when i first started drinking loose leaf tea and my favourite tea ever was madam butterfly from the tea emporium here in toronto. this tea…smells exactly like it, only with a bit of pineapple that comes through. While i’m a little tired of that flavour, it was nice to revisit a memory and try and new take on it. thanks for sharing missb!

this is another from terri and while i’m not an oolong fan, i do love me some ginger! haha while this is a really pleasant roasty oolong, all i’m really getting here is peach. And i’m a little peached out. I really can’t taste any ginger. I have a feeling if this was a ginger oolong i’d be all over getting more of this…but the way it stands? i’m good with just this taste! thanks terri!

Maddy Barone

You and I seem to have some tastes in common, Sil. I love ginger too. I’m going to start going through your tasting notes to find things I might like.

sichuan caravan from verdant. my tasting notes are sometimes not so tea related…especially after a few years of drinking the same things. If you’re after a specific thing let me know…happy to suggest. :)

Terri HarpLady

I think sichuan caravan & our pumpkin ginger spice are the winners for gingery flavor :)

terri sent these my way and i couldn’t find an entry in the database for them. So here’s hoping i didn’t create a duplicate. these are very sweet…and fruity and don’t have the least bit of that dark black tea taste that i love about other flowering cones that i’ve had. that being said, these are quite delicious and even cold (i forgot about my tea) the brew is delicious to drink! thanks for letting me try another flowering cone terri!

Always wanted to try tea cones, look some interesting :)

i recommend the ones from mandala! :)

duly noted :)

Terri HarpLady

These were tasty, although I don’t think I ever did get around to reviewing them, & I’ll have to agree, the ones from Mandala were better :)
I think I originally ordered them because Garret ran out of the others, & I wanted to see if they were the same.

Interesting these were milder than the Mandala ones? I found the Mandala ones milder than my Ali ones that can get super malty.

these were…fruitier? not really a malty tea… almost sweet/fruity?

yum! terri sent me more of this and i have to say 2013 was just a good year for tea harvest…at least in my little corner of “black” tea world lol. I don’t love the 2014 harvests as much so here’s hoping that 2013 will be a good year. still enjoying this one a lot! thanks terri!

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling and am currently working on trying to get my other half to as many place in the world as possible.
