3108 Tasting Notes
sipdown! Terri is my most awesome tea sister who sent this my way. But i suck. I was drinking this in the morning and apparently i’m a little tired and stressed still because without thinking i picked up the leaves and tossed them out with the other cup of tea i was drinking….there was no way to salvage them and yes…i stared long and hard at the garbage trying to figure out if i could get them out. Sooooo i didn’t get as many steeps out of this one as i wanted to but i DID get enough out of it to know that i really enjoy this one. I have more of this in my cupboard (i think it’s the 2012 version) so i’m looking forward to getting to have more and actually finish steeping it! sorry terri! :(
sipdown! had a cup of this today just to finish it off. i really enjoyed this one when i had it!
I don’t think that this is a tea for me, though i thank my tea sister terri for sending this my way. There’s too much pepper/smokey flavour going on that offends my tongue. it’s a little strange though since i typically enjoy those sorts of flavours…so this is staying on my list to try again in the future.
sipdown! finished up this one and it’s for sure one that i’d consider reordering in the future. I like that it’s not your typical malty black dragon pearl – the fruitiness adds a bit of uniqueness to this that i like. Maybe not a staple, but for sure something i’d rotate in and out :)
cold brewed this one…not a fan. There’s something about the peach in this one that just makes me less than happy. I have enough for a cup or so, but i’m calling this a sipdown and tossing this into the swap box in case someone else wants to try it.
backlog from yesterday. another tasty cup of this one. Not much to say beyond previous notes except that this is still a tasty treat that i still enjoy
backlogging from yesterday in between meetings as best as i can. Another great tea shared with us from tastybrew in our BBBB. All i remember from yesterday was that this one made me happy haha. sooo happy i have more to try again when i can write a proper note. but for now, thank you TB!
IB..now is your chance to jump on the trade band wagon. I seem to recall you wanting more of this, so if that’s still the case hollar at me, otherwise this is likely going out of my cupboard and into the swap bucket. It’s not that i hate this tea, but there’s something about it that doesn’t work for me. I’m not sure if it’s the tulsi or what, but there’s this weird sweetness that comes out of nowhere that makes it less appetizing than it would be without it. I tried this as a latte tonight, and while it made it better, it’s still nothing i WANT to drink, so it should go to someone who will love drinking it :)
I figured out how to drink this one today. Cold steep overnight and add a splash of honey. Not sugar or other sweetners – honey. Because man that honey + blueberry = HELLZ YA! Seriously? it’s nearly enough for me to just bump the everlovingjeebusrating out of this one haha. but i won’t because i don’t like it hot brewed as much and it’s a little too picky for me. But the rest of this? brewed like this for sure!
Terri was getting on my case for not having tried the two teas that tastybrew sent in our BBB Box that we’re sending around. (even though i only got it friday!!! and it’s already out the door!) sheesh! So i packed this up in the travel mug today. Sadly though, as often it happens with work, it got busy and i wasn’t able to jot my notes down. I remember being pretty happy with this one as it’s not a malty black (which i also love, but have a bunch of..) instead it’s a sweet-er black…but not sweet like stacy’s high mountain tea. it was different…and good. More to come when i get to drinking it when i’m NOT at work :) Thanks for participating in the fun girls!
